When a delay in the scheduled inspection came up I was notified immediately so I was not waiting for a late report back. The reports Texas 1st provides are exactly what you need to make a buying decision. They will call you just after the inspection and provide you with a report over the phone so you can make a decision to wait for the detailed report via email or pass on that vehicle immediately. In my case both vehicles were in tough shape which the photos from their websites didn't show. The unseen oil leaks and blue smoke on the test drive are tell-tale signs of bigger issues. Nicks, dings and chipped windscreens also don't show up in the pictures or the sellers descriptions but Texas 1st notes them all. Since the first two inspections yielded two duds I'm quickly working on the next car on my list, contacting the dealer for availability and scheduling for Texas 1st to inspect. Yes they have earned my repeat business because they are that good. Now you may think spending $169 to inspect a car as expensive but It is not. I bought our last vehicle sight unseen and 900 miles away ten years ago and still own and drive it daily. No issues with it except for those items listed in the inspection report. Needed tires, sales price was adjusted for that and I replaced the tires. Needed an alignment, had that taken care of as well. I look at the cost of the inspection as money well spent. A Texas First Auto Inspection is a big tool in my/your toolbox when purchasing a used car. I would use Russell and his team even if I was local because they are so easy to work with and it eliminates me taking the vehicle to an inspector that could be on the other side of town. Another way to think about Texas 1st is they are like a OBD2 code reader. You plug them into the vehicle and they tell you all that is wrong with it. Simple as that.

The inspector's report stated the bumper/grill just needed to be clipped back in. The dealership later had to replace the entire bumper because it was beyond repair. This inaccurate diagnosis affected my purchase decision. I contacted the owner with photo evidence on July 22. On July 29 he acknowledged the issue and agreed in writing to a full refund within 5-7 business days. The refund never came. I sent follow-up emails on August 5, August 13, and August 14. He ignored the first two. On August 14 he responded saying he had contacted Stripe and the refund was in pending status and would be pushed through. It still never arrived. After weeks of being ignored, I changed my Google review from 5 stars to 1 star. I had left the 5 star review AFTER he agreed to the refund, as a courtesy. At no point before the refund agreement did I mention any review. The owner has since changed his position entirely. He now claims the bumper issue was my fault, he called my a LIAR, and that I threatened him with a review to get a free service. All of these claims are contradicted by the email thread. He has stopped acknowledging the refund he agreed to in writing. I have also filed a chargeback with my bank. However, today's experience was so over the top, unprofessional, and insulting as we've ever had with any business. Ever. My husband and I took our daughter's car in for inspection. An older man that we've seen prior was there along with a young kid that looked like he was in training. A few minutes into the inspection, they waved my husband out to the garage. The young kid had unplugged the theft tracking device AND our OBD2 port, without asking us about it, then threatened to fail the car as the plug in device they use was reading an error as it was not getting any information from the car. By the way, the car is a 2023 Nissan Sentra with about 20k mi on it and it spotless condition. When my husband asked him to in the future please ask prior to doing any of this, the kid replied that he didnt need to ask us about anything. Um, yes you do, it's not your car. He then told us he was failing us and then told my husband he needed to stop drinking and driving because he could smell it on him. Wow. My husband rarely drinks and hasn't even had a beer in over a month. I'm sure what he supposedly 'smelled' was hard work and an intolerance for a boy-child's bull****. We left and went to a different place and oh yeah, it passed with no problem. Zero stars if possible.

(They told me the battery must have been recently disconnected but it has not been touched.) Thier equipment to fix the ABS issue and even to do a simple inspection is innoperable. I didn't realize this until the second visit. Then they made me pay for thier equipment not working. Basically, blaming me for thier inability to do the work.
