Our office ordered takeout delivery. The deliver had to come back 3x. First time, the deliver gave us the wrong order. He delivered our order to the wrong address. The 2nd time, we placed another order and our order was very late. So we called the restaurant. They said they tried to reach us but no one picked up. We did not get any notification that someone called. So the restaurant cancelled our order. The 3rd time, we finally got our order but was missing our drinks. We called again, the restaurant said they are unable to deliver our drinks. They will give us our drinks in the next order. The office have ordered from them in the past and have problems with them. The store refused to refund us. They said there is nothing they can do. So we decided to dispute the payment. Our order was pretty big. We won't be ordering thru them anymore. read more

1 Star - Absolutely Disrespectful & Unprofessional My experience at Mr Taco Mexican Grill was completely unacceptable. They got my order wrong, and when I called to address their mistake, the staff was rude, dismissive, and lacked any basic customer service skills. Management was even worse. Instead of taking responsibility or trying to fix the issue, they showed zero professionalism and zero concern. The most outrageous part? After I complained, they blocked my phone number. That is not how a legitimate business operates. Blocking a customer instead of resolving a problem is cowardly, childish, and disrespectful. As an African American customer, the lack of courtesy and basic respect was extremely disappointing and noticeable. Businesses in our community should uplift and respect customers--not treat them like a problem for speaking up. This place does not value its customers, does not respect people's money, and clearly does not care about accountability. This is a gem in the heart of Hempstead LI. Located on the corner of Main st. If you want the real South American tacos this is defiantly the place to come. I have tried Birria de res, carne asada, el pollo and carne con queso. The line the tacos with onions and cilantro. They include radish and lime wedges. They also include salsa. Craving tacos while in Hempstead. My experience with eateries in this neighborhood have been a hit or miss. Mr. Tacos was a definite MISS. Sorry, but my expectations for tacos are high: (small soft tasty tortilla, tender seasoned meat, finely chopped onions, cilantro and thinly sliced radish, two flavored sauces). These are just the basics folks. If it's shrimp or fish, some level of special sauce added. Mr. Tacos... Nada. I was craving birria tacos again so I typed it in on Yelp and this place was the first one on the results list. They open quite early at 10 am, I called in my order around 10:30 and got there 20+ minutes later but my order wasn't ready yet. Parking around here is difficult to find. The staff were not welcoming nor friendly and rather rude. Mind you, I drove out of my way to come here and all the food I got was very disappointing. Sad to say, the birria de res tacos and birria quesadilla was probably the worst I've ever had. The tortillas was soggy AF, the beef was in chunks & underseasoned and there was really no point in the consomé bc once you grab the taco or quesadilla, it has already been fallen apart, you'll have to pour it on instead of dipping it. It was literally the messiest taco experience ever. And the grilled chicken in the quesadilla was hard, also had lettuce in it, which I wasn't a fan of and they forgot the sour cream. Mr Tacos, you doing something special over there. I saw this place pop up on my recommended places to eat so I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did because the food was pretty good. Inside is nice, very spacious with an ATM at the front & a lot of drink selections. Decided to go for takeout since I was in a hurry but next time I might eat inside. Went with 2 chorizo tacos, 1 chicken taco, a steak torta, & shrimp quesadilla. The food was made fresh & the wait was pretty short, I would say about 15 minutes tops to get the food. Parking is right next to the shop which is nice, it's paid parking though so be mindful of that. It's about 50 cents an hour though so just have your change on deck. Ok so the food, I give the tacos about a 7 they were ok but nothing special. The Torta though? Maaaaannnnn let me tell you. That Torta was DELICIOUS. Everything about it was perfect, the bread was so soft, the tomatoes so juicy, the steak melted in your mouth & the cheese? Ohhhh lawwwwdddd the cheese! I'll try a shrimp & a chorizo torta next time. The quesadilla was also next level. The amount of shrimp you get inside of it was rather generous compared to other spots I've been to. It was kinda thick also which is always a plus. Went today to get an order of tacos Al pastor and to begin with they took way too long to get my order. To the point where I had to ask someone at the counter for my order after some time waiting and it look like they had forgotten to make my order. 30 mins later they gave me my order went home. When I see the tacos the tortillas look and smell like they were left outside the fridge old and rancid and the meat was cold the vegetables were not fresh. Totally disappointed about this experience and will not be going back back There for sure. read more

SO GOOD. 10/10 highly recommend eating here. The carne asada bowl was stacked with all kinds of flavors. The salsa was my favorite kind. Meat was juicy and flavorful. Jamaica agua fresca was really good and went perfectly as well. Everything on the menu looked amazing. read more

Never tried this place, but ordered here because it was featured on door dash and I was Craving Mexican - oh and it had 5 stars! Let's just say it did not disappoint. Best authentic Mexican food in Long Island and this is an understatement. I cannot get enough of this place! Ordered Birria and al pastor tacos along with chicken enchilada bowls and the flavors from these bowls and how fresh the ingredients were has me salivating just writing about it. Compliments to the chef! We couldn't stop there and reordered from here and will be reordering again and popping in in-person. The quality did not change and I'm ecstatic!!!! Would recommmend!!!! Just another over priced wanna be taco joint on Long Island. Nothing special about the food at all. Under seasoned and a hot mess, save your money and go to any of the other 5,000 taco places on Long Island. The only thing they have going for them is the food is made fresh but that doesn't really matter given there is no flavor to the food. Amazing!! I have been dying to try birria tacos and I'm so glad I chose this spot to be my first. Upon walking in I knew I made the right choice because they were full and the seated guests were clearly enjoying their food, always a good sign. I was greeted by a very friendly young girl who took my order and as I waited I observed her checking regularly on the guests and cleaning up. I ordered a regular birria taco and the quesadilla de birria. I did not expect for how huge the quesadillas would be and you get 2! Totally worth the money. Went for a meal 2 weeks ago with a friend. Ate steak tacos and alambre de res which were good until it wasn't. Felt stomach pains the night after the meal and it only got worse each day. Spent 4 days with food poisoning and went to the clinic. Nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain you name it. Called the place to speak to the manager 2 days after the pains started and never heard back. The food is great, I ordered birria taco and carne asada fries on uber eats. The reason why I'm rating it 3 stars is because only 1 birria taco cost $5. When I ordered this, the order ended with tacoS and the picture showed two. I thought it was more than one. The carne asada fries cost $12. Although it is a big platter, it is very overpriced. I was really disappointed in seeing that one birria taco came out to be just $5 when in reality that's how much 2 or 3 is supposed to cost. read more
