I knew when I did my Yelp research for a great Sunday brunch place, it would be a success and it…read moresure was a hit! Thank you Copperhill for such a great dining experience. We were traveling from out of town and meeting up with an old high school friend and Copperhill was the perfect place. They had a menu full of great selections ... from brunchy items to salads/sandwiches and great healthy selections too. Our server Cat D. also did a fine job of keeping us all very happy, she's a great server. I had the shrimp tacos which were very good. My husband and HS friend had the kale salad with a big piece of salmon on top. We all really enjoyed our meal and had plenty of time to catch up with each other. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated with cool art and flowers/plant life. They did a great job with creating a cool vibe inside. It does get a little loud, so if you're looking for a quiet meal, brunch on a Sunday might not be the place. The restaurant gets pretty crowded.. and for a reason. Great service, food and ambiance can do that! I would definitely go back next time I'm in town.

The worst part of the meal was the cauliflower dish. It was a cauliflower steak, accompanied by riced cauliflower, roasted cauliflower, and mashed cauliflower....next to a handful of almonds. We would've said "wtf is this?" to our server, but she never checked on the meal haha. Nothing was egregiously bad but nothing was particularly good either.

I recently dined at Small Batch (Tom Colicchio's restaurant), located inside the Roosevelt Field…read moreMall in Garden City. The restaurant has a beautiful, bright, modern atmosphere that feels much more upscale than its surroundings. Based on other reviews, the standout dishes seemed to be the grilled Spanish octopus and the SB Smash Burger, so I ordered both. Unfortunately, the execution fell short in several areas. The East Coast oysters arrived with mignonette but without horseradish or oyster forks--small details, but noticeable oversights. The oysters, octopus, and burger were all tasty, but the presentation of octopus and burger was surprisingly sloppy, as though little attention had been paid when the dishes left the kitchen. The bar also was understaffed. A single bartender was serving both the bar and the entire dining room, which led to waits for drinks. My bartender was friendly, attentive, and worked hard, but one person simply wasn't enough. I finished with the Key Lime Custard, which had what appeared to be a layer of shredded cereal on the bottom. I wasn't sure what it was. The dessert itself was enjoyable, though I think a base of toasted sliced almonds with a few fried blueberries on top of it would have added better texture and complemented the flavors more effectively. One nice perk is the validated valet parking, for a reduced fee, which makes arriving and leaving especially convenient given the mall location. The whiskey selection could also be improved by adding a few more interesting, off-the-beaten-path single malts or blends. Overall, the kitchen shows promise! And perhaps I came on an off night. With better attention to presentation, appropriate bar staffing, and a more adventurous choice of spirits, Small Batch could deliver an experience that better matches its reputation.

I finally visited a sister restaurant of Luigi's located across the street from the Floral Park…read moreTrain Station. The ambiance appears to be bigger than Luigi's and it's always busy/packed. Reservations are highly recommended. A lot of my mom friends rave about this place and I got to dine here twice with them, once for brunch and the other for dinner. The first time I came here was with my child for brunch. I got a mocktail and we ordered chicken and waffles along the unadvertised kids menu containing chicken fingers and fries. Portions for both dishes were generous and took home the leftovers. We also shared the Brussels sprouts and the infamois complimentary bread, which were really good. The second and most recent time we went was for dinner with the a huge group of moms. We shared the Caesar salad, Brussels sprouts, and general two's cauliflower, which was amazing. I had the red sangria and a taste of the Huckleberry lemonade, drinks were strong. For the entrees I ordered the salmon and once again portion was huge, took it home and the hubby ate the leftovers. Other moms ordered the frose, spicy paloma, le poulet and spicy Rigatoni. At the end we had key lime pie which tasted great but I was too full to finish it. I'll be coming to this spot more often because of great company and food!

This one is every ounce of what they market online. The food is amazing. The staff is amazing. Inside is amazing. There's even plenty of parking near the local train station. The marketing team did an outstanding job representing this restaurant. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

We were promptly seated and the wine and cocktail selection is good. The wine pours were a little meager but the wine pretty good. The pesto knots they serve for the free bread were great! My husband also loved how they offered us one more each for free without his asking to ask. We split the salmon and Black Sea bass. I loved the salmon sauce, how well the salmon was cooked, and the gnocchi it came with. The Black Sea bass wasn't as good in my opinion. The pesto sauce was bland and could do with being more flavorful like the free knots. The accompanying vegetables and potatoes were good. For dessert we split the apple crumble which was quite good. The staff were very friendly and the ambiance really nice. We enjoyed our date night a lot there and the we plan to go back and try their happy hour especially since we live nearby and drive by there all the time. Recommend!
