As soon as we walked in, the restaurant felt inviting and we were seated quickly. We had drinks plus chips and salsa in no time and started browsing the menu. The crispy chips and flavorful salsa were a great start to the meal. We'd eaten at the other Mr Tequila and were pleased with their selection of Mexican food. This Mr Tequila is a bit larger and has a festive atmosphere. The menu has favorites like tacos, quesadillas, burritos and fajitas. The fajitas I ordered were delicious, the server bought out a sizzling pan of steak and vegetables with another plate of beans, rice, guacamole and sour cream, it's quite a feast! Their flour tortillas are so good, hubs got his favorite street tacos and we agreed everything was cooked just right. They have a BOGO on margaritas every day, very nice if you're looking for a cool place to relax and get out of the heat. It's easy to find, right off Tamiami Trail and parking is good. Mr. Tequilla on Tiamiami Trai East was our initial visit to their Mexican restaurants. This was different from what we anticipated; the restaurant is beautifully decorated with vibrant chairs, booths, and various artifacts. There is a spacious bar offering a wide selection of alcoholic beverages. The food and service were fantastic. We ordered the quesadilla along with beef and chicken tacos, which came with a side of rice and beans. It was absolutely delicious. We are long time customers of Mr Tequila and usually only have good experiences. Today we ordered take out of their new pork belly taco platter. It was missing the rice and beans as advertised on their menu. Oops they must of over looked it, but no they said it does not come with rice and beans even though their website says it does. What??? We went to this particular Mr Tequila in Naples. We had a party of 5 people and the hostess said she could not accommodate a party of 5, only 4 people tables. While telling me this there was actually a table of 5 right behind her. When I asked about this she basically told me they weren't seating any more tables of 5. It was 7:15. Clearly they wanted to close early. Ended up going to the other location on the same street and had no issues at all. Owner may want to check the staff at this location. Terrible. Ordered in advance, attached pic of order. Order was not ready. They looked surprised. Asked when no one came back to me if everything was ok, told " its a big order" Again, this was ordered in advance. This was for a birthday lunch. The top order was totally missing which happen to be the person's birthday we were celebrating. Taco missing from combo. Vegetarian quesadilla loaded with mushrooms and guac - specifically asked not to have those items. There was one container if beans and rice together for all sides. I took care to show the list(attached) and asked twice are you sure all items are in the bag and was told yes. Called and told the first item was not on the online order. We come here every time we visit Florida. The place never ceases to amaze. We usually do lunch during the summer months. We were seated quickly. Our waitress took our drink order (Michelada and Long Island iced tea) both were excellent and brought to the table quickly. We've eaten here since they opened many years ago and the food is consistently amazing. I usually order the Camarones Mr. Tequila or the Quesadilla Camaron. Both dishes are always full of perfectly cooked big shrimp and vegetables. My husband and kids love the enchiladas, tacos, burritos and so much more. The service is always quick and friendly. They happily bring more chips and salsa (salsa is also great) usually without us even having to ask. We are always amazing at how quickly all the food comes out. Last night we were there for Cinco de Mayo and we were blown away with how they managed the extremely packed restaurant. There were many people waiting but we didn't have to wait long at all. Once we were sat our waitress came right away to introduce herself and take our drink order. The food came out quickly as well. They had a live band and some people were dancing. Everyone was having a good time. We were impressed with the high level of service with the restaurant being so packed inside and out. At the end of our meal they gave each of us a free t-shirt!!! My parents are in here at least once a week while they are wintering in FL! The wait staff know them well and are so pleasant! If you happen to be on the other side of FL in Fort Lauderdale/Coral Springs, I recommend El Mariachi. The happy hour here is a pretty good deal, it's buy one small house margarita, get one free. I enjoyed the drinks here, I recommend the frozen margarita. You do receive chips and salsa, but it's totally worth splurging on the queso dip! I'm not usually a chip fan, but the cheesy goodness made me want to indulge. The menu is large and has many good choices. I'm vegetarian, but my husband points out how this place has a lot of seafood choices for a Mexican restaurant. He liked his Pina Cancun, which is seafood in a pineapple. Hubby and I split an order of churros on our last trip, we had come to love eating those when we lived in Southern California. The churros were absolutely delicious. Me and my hubby were really craving some authentic Mexican and decided to try this location. We walked into and we're seated pretty quickly. Our server was this lovely young women named Mikayla and she started us off with some margaritas. She also shared the impressive selection of tequilas. She was very attentive and helped me choose my entree once I shared how indecisive I am. She recommended the Molcajate which was absolutely delicious and the presentation was beautiful. In that split second I asked for a frozen strawberry margarita to which he said he doesn't think we can do that so I said a regular margarita would be fine. Chips and salsa were brought out and the salsa looked like something you would buy in a grocery store... I assumed it would be homemade. Maybe it was but it tasted like it came from a store with absolutely no flavor. Awhile passed before I realized that no one was taking our order. It wasn't busy in the restaurant, but then I saw the guy that sat us and took our drink order was now bussing tables by the bar. Another really nice guy came over (about 10 minutes later) to ask if anyone came to our table (as if the closed menus gave it away). My husband and I always gets their burrito, which is so tasty, surrounded by fresh salsa, guacamole, and smothered with cheese. For the kids we vary between their cheese quesadilla or macaroni and cheese! We love ordering from them because they are consistent. Their portion sizes are consistently large. We stopped at two and could not make ourselves walk in. Then Mr. Tequila popped up. The comments of the girls in our group were about the lack of creativity of the name but we decided to try it.
