So I had tint on another car and had good service at that time. I went back in May for another vehicle, no issues...but a lot of bubbles in the tint. I call and was told to wait 48 hours. I went to the office and had the worst customer service by Colby or Cody. Granted, I didn't have the warranty paperwork, but I was told they keep it on file, hence the reason they get your complete information. He was simple horrible and didn't seem to care. Bad quality tint and even worse quality install. Leaving light gaps, bubbles and peeling after only 2 days. Don't get mistaken that any of that is acceptable and don't be mistaken they will take care of you they don't honor any of their work. They charged me 700 hundred dollars to tint my new truck and they messed up all 6 windows through poor cutting and poor shrinking. When I brought back the windshield to have it redone they used a sharpie where it hadn't been cut right, on a 2024 truck... I came back to question the installer about a refund and he left said sharpies in my truck. Later that same day not 3 hours later I tried to talk to the owner about the absurdity of the tint peeling and he insisted I should have tinted it myself. Swearing up a storm of excuses about how I'm trying to get something out of nothing and I don't know anything about tint. This place is a joke I wouldn't recommend this place to a blind person solely on the fact that their tint doesn't reject heat like a any other name brand would. read more

Please do yourself a favor & read the real reviews, not the fake ones done by friends of the owner. Mr. Tint is a terrible business, if you make the mistake of leaving your car with them please don't forget to empty it to make sure the workers don't steal things out of your car. Also if you are worried about your interior getting scratched don't take it there. The workers aren't careful at all. I brought my brand new 2021 Ram TRX over there for a tint & my door panels & center console all have markings & scratches. This review should have been written some time ago. We had every window in our entire house tinted for safety reason, a total of 119 panes. I have just recently tried to get the owner to get someone here to redo the front door and sidelites. He is very unresponsive after trying to reach out SEVERAL TIMES!!! There are bubbles and some scratches from the original installation. There are other issues with some of the other windows, but all I'm looking for is to get the front door and sidelites looked after. I recently had another 3M window tint company here to check it out. Told me scratches were from installation along with bubbles. I was also told by this company that I should have been told and offered a bead of safety caulk around all windows to make them stronger. No one ever offered that to me. We wanted the safety tint for the best security and unsure why we weren't offered this additional security. Shame on Mr Tint!!! Oh and BTW we paid thousands of dollars for the safety tint on our home windows. A life time warranty is a lifetime warranty!! read more

Received great service from the young lady who I believe is named Alexia. Anyway I ordered the darkest legal tint in Columbia #25. It's 3M which has a lifetime warranty. Any bubbles or discoloration will be replaced by any 3M dealer! It was $220 which I thought was a great deal considering the lifetime warranty. Job was completed in two n a half hours. Paid $200 for Mr. Tint to tint my front windshield. The installer installed the tint incorrectly leaving trash behind the film causing a bubble near the top of the windshield. I was told by the girl at the front desk that if the tint was installed incorrectly they would fix it. I returned to Mr. Tint to show them the mistake. When the installer saw the bubble he said he understood it was costly and to come back next week to have it fixed. I didn't give them a hard time about it and was ok to just have it fixed. When I took it back to get fixed they refused to fix their mistake because the bubble was at the top of the windshield and not obstructing my vision of the road. I was told this over the phone and I got extremely upset and said some curse words. When I got to Mr. Tint to get my truck back Tom the boss met me outside and told me he would maybe help me if I didn't have an attitude. He stated that the bubble I was "bitching" about he didn't really see it as a problem because of its location. He told me he would fix it if I apologized to the woman at the front desk and shook my hand. No one should have to go through this BS to have the job done right. Common sense tells you that a poorly installed tint with bubbles will prematurely peel. I would not recommend Mr. Tint as they believe it's okay to charge customers a premium price for bad work. Update Tom from Mr. Tint saw that I had negatively reviewed their shop and called me from an (803) 518-5770 number and cursed me out calling me a "punk". He believes he "hooked me up" by replacing the tint they messed up that I paid $200 for. When I got to Mr. Tint, Tom had my truck illegally parked in a lane in the middle of the highway on the side of their business. If I could give zero stars I would! Although the front desk was very helpful and courteous, the service that I was rendered and the way that they handled my complaint was atrocious! I just purchased a 2019. Needless to say it's obviously under warranty. It came with factory tent which was not dark enough. I went to Mr. Tint to get a darker tent put on. The previous day I spent 2 1/2 hours detailing my car. But when I got it back from Mr. tent it was soaking wet. They ran water over it and did not even bother to dry it off. I was immediately furious. But that was not it. When I opened the back door to put my bag inside there was a flat razor on the door stoop. If a child had gotten a hold of this... it could've been deadly. As I looked at my tent I noticed there were bubbles and streaks in the newly applied tent. There was also glue all down the doors And the soft lining where the window rolls up was covered in glue that I could not clean. And they even managed to get some green fluid in my carpet and in the trunk. Then I noticed there were scratches on the inside of the door where they used a razor to remove the existing tint. When I called to discuss all of this I was told they would get back to me. I called a week later and they pushed me off again. Three weeks later I still have not heard back. After about a month when I called I was told that the manager would call me. But he never did. Finally the last time I called I was told that they said they will replace the tint but they would not fix the scratches in the door Because I could not prove that they did it and not the dealership. If the dealership were the one to blame I would not have even bothered to address the issue with them. I am under warranty after all. Needless to say I will never take another vehicle to Mr. Tint And I will definitely never recommend that anyone take their vehicle here unless you do not care about how you get it back! read more

Despite not wanting to help put any more money in Tommy's pocket, a friend wanted 3M film for his car, so this morning we headed to Mr. Tint (Charleston) to drop it off. Well, apparently Tommy has enough money because he doesn't even have someone man the Charleston shop anymore. I mean, why even pay rent for a whole building if you aren't going to have someone there to tint cars, answer phones and give customer service from open to close?? Anyway, we showed up at 8:20am (knowing we were early), waited til 8:40 before calling, got the Columbia shop (charleston forwards their phones pretty much all the time since nobody is there) and the girl (Sarah I think) first implied it was our fault because we probably missed them since we were late. beep wrong answer since we were there 10 minutes before they were supposed to open. After explaining this to her, she told us that she would call the installer and call him back. Waited until 9am (20 mins later, 30 mins AFTER they are supposed to be open and 40 mins after we had been waiting!) and called them back. Girl in Columbia said that they have been "incredibly busy this morning" and that she would try to get the installer on the phone while we waited. She came back and said that there was a miscommunication bc the installer left the shop before 8 this morning since he had a commercial job to do and that they wouldn't have scheduled someone to drop off a car at 8:30 since nobody would be there. Custom Car Stereo has quality ceramic tint and now has my friend's business. Oh and before all of this, he called Mr. Tint THREE TIMES to schedule in the first place. Left his info first 2 times and was told he'd get a call back. Third time he waited on hold while the girl from Columbia shop called the installer to get an appointment time. Seriously, if you aren't gonna run the Charleston shop right, don't run it at all! Also, don't let the website fool you, they don't have locations in Aiken, Augusta or Sumter. Those are dummy numbers that go to the Columbia shop, so they look like they're big and reputable, but you won't get any kind of face to face customer service unless you want to drive to Columbia. I give them a ZERO - took over 2 1/2 years to get them to come tint windows after I had used Mr. Tint 4 years earlier to tint many more windows at my home. I would leave messages with real people and at times on their answering machine and they would never call you back. I finally got a live person - a man. Over the phone I had described to Tom, I believe as it was him, what I needed and the estimate he had given me, was around $150 for the 2 small windows as I explained I wanted the same tint for both and described the size of the windows. Even though they had given me the estimate some time ago, when the installers arrived (they sent 2) , I did not have my original notes with the estimate for the 2 small windows with me. One window was very, very small about the size of a carton of cigarettes and they used the same film. Charged me $250. WHAT a rip off. Will never return my calls when I've called asking for an explanation for the $100 overcharge. They are AWFUL. AVOID them. I have called numerous times and Tom will not even afford me the courtesy of a call back. I have about 5 more windows to do early next year so you would think they would want my business. Got it redone and it didn't look much different....a year and some change later the bubbles NEVER went away, my tint is actually coming off and it has faded SIGNIFICANTLY! Don't waste your time or money. I called and made an appointment for a Tuesday to have tint put on a window at my home. They never showed or called. On Wednesday someone called and said they'd be right over. They did show up and did a passable job with the safety tint, but I wanted something so people couldn't see in...it's a bathroom. We were told they would be back on Friday to apply another type of tint. No show, no call. Hi, l recently had my car windows tented at Mr Tent located on Two Notch Rd. Had issues with the work which they didn't deni. Aftering 7 days I took the car back and showed Chuck the problems I saw (he didn't disagree) he started to make excuses why it was that way. Chuck told me they are short handed that day (more excuses). They took the car in to fix the problems we discussed. Some hours later they brought the car back around front but I couldn't see thier work or lack of because was wet. After I got home I could see O Chuck didn't do anything to the back glass. Called receptionist she said in come early on Friday (third time). When I got there O Chuck who claims he only does homes not cars said there other cars in front of me. I waited 5 hours for Mr Tent to fix what should have been corrected the second time. The 3M rep. (Nice guy) told me that trying to put tent on this style of Honda (2019 Accord) is hard to do. Really, just give me back my money instead of making more excuses of doing a half as way job. If I was ask to recommend Mr Tent, l couldn't do that with any confidence, that's too bad this is my 5th car I have taken to them. The people were nice but the work wasn't. I believe the following captures the essence of the Mr. Tint experience. Skip to the bottom for simple pros and cons. It is my personal opinion (and likely the opinion of many others), any individual would be hard pressed to find an establishment in South Carolina that offers worse customer service. Think of it this way: You know when you go to a restaurant and order the spicy wings and they bring you mild? Well, then you send them back, but only to be brought an order of teriyaki wings, which is still wrong. That, my friends, is the story of Mr. Tint. Only except, they make you pay for the other orders, and then act like it was your own fault for burdening their legs with multiple trips back to the kitchen. Let's start with the staff. I've been to Mr. Tint 3 times. Twice for my own car and once for a relative's car. Oh to be young and naive. I went back for subsequent tint jobs for reasons unbeknownst to man. With this in mind, I have spent large sums of money at this place (a point to be addressed momentarily) and interacted with the staff on numerous occasions. To say the staff is "rude" would be a disservice to the men and women at the DMV, as well as the teenager with the lip ring working the register at your local pizza joint. Mr. Tint's staff is atrocious. The woman working there, not sure her name, clearly brings her problems in to work. I mean, really, she will act like any inconvenience brought upon you will be YOUR own fault: clearly a product of your own misdoing. If you want a sample of this attitude, give them a call! I urge you. But be warned! The venom oozing from her sarcastic tone and disinterested demeanor will crawl through your headset and burrow its way into your ear canal like a cockroach soaked in vinegar. Yeah, call at your own risk. The man really isn't much better. The lack of accurate information he provides about completion times and price estimates would make even a back-alley-tv-repair-gypsy shudder. Oh, and his lack of manners is equivalent to the previous paragraph's description... if it was boiled down into a paste, baked to a crystallized form, and then crushed into powder to be inhaled through a straw. Seriously. I once went in with a friend, who had chapped lips, and he asked him, "been sucking p**** lately?" Dead pan. No smile. Awkward laugh from friend. Flabbergasted. Yeah, I get some people try to be friendly with their costumers. While I truly don't think in my heart of heart's that he was being sarcastic and friendly (given his record of shortness, ineptitude, and flagrant lack of display of common decency), I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. Otherwise, I will have lost all hope in humanity. Now on to their prices. Wait? What are their prices? Well, the answer to that question is anyone's guess, because you sign on the line for one price, then you may pick your car up and pay a different one. Yup. This has happened. I have no idea what that's about, but I can only imagine it is to compensate for you so rudely making them have to hold on to your vehicle hours-days later than it was promised so that they can delay your pick up over and over. I mean, how dare you take up space in their parking lot because they haven't bothered getting to your car yet! Twice I've arrived and the car was not ready when promised, and ended up taking several hours longer, on one occasion, and a full day later on another. I understand people/businesses get backed up. But common'! At least a heads up! Oh, and their prices to begin with are so overpriced, I don't even have a witty comparison to make. Anyways, I'd be remiss if I didn't add that with all of this in mind, the quality of work they have done on the car(s) was acceptable. I didn't have bubbles and the color stayed true. BUT, this has also been the case for other establishments that I have visited since swearing off any other Mr. Tint visits. These other places, like Solar Solutions, will provide you with just as good (if not better) tint applications, at a fraction of the cost and certainly with great costumer service. Pros: - Tint didn't bubble/fade. Cons: - Hands down worst costumer service available. - Astronomically expensive. - Takes way too long. - Might be asked to pay something different than what was agreed upon. - Did I mention bad costumer service? **Take your business elsewhere. First things first. I have had all my cars tinted with Mr Tint, and never had any issues. If I should rate that I would give it 5 stars. But yesterday I had a bad run-in with them. I visited them because I was inquiring about applying carbon fiber overlay (a foil) over my hood to give it the appearance of a carbon fiber hood. You can get the wrap at amazon ( http://www.amazon.com/3M-Scotchprint-Carbon-Fiber-Vinyl/dp/B0058DIDTY ) for under 20 dollars. I watched a video on youtube and their installation was under 1 hour. NOW. Here comes the kicker. I asked MR Tint how much they would charge to install the foil. Not them purchasing it. Just installation and they quoted me 600-700 dollars. REALLY??? For what? I dont understand how they can justify such an outrageous price. Its wiping the hood down, laying the foil on your hood, clearing the bubbles and done. 600-700 dollars for less than an hour work. I`m sorry, but that seems like a major ripoff....I really hope they get their act together..... P.S. I can get a real carbon fiber hood for under 600 dollars. Just saying read more
