When we arrived, we were told that they saw our name on the schedule, but that they "do not do appointments, only walk-ins", to "better come back tomorrow." I made an appointment online for noon, received both a text and email confirmation, only to be told I should have showed up at 7:30am for a walk-in because they don't honor scheduled appointments. He told me I shouldn't have called to make my appointment because that's just "people in India who don't know what they're doing." I had made the appointment online, not through the call center, so his racist comments a bout his own company's employees were unnecessary and innapropriate. Then he told me he had called me to cancel the appointment the day before, and he for sure had done it at 9:03am the day before according to his notes. I had made the appointment in the afternoon, after 9:03am. He doubled-down and insisted I was wrong. Okay, sure, Mr. Tire employees are so good that they can see the future and can call to cancel appointments that haven't even been made yet. They shouldn't let people make appointments if they don't take appointments. And if they do, let the people know ahead of time. And if they don't do that, then at least be apologetic about it. All I did was make an appointment online. I didn't do anything wrong. I didn't deserve to be bullied and treated so poorly. The conversation ended with him snidely asking if I want their services on another day or not. I definitely do NOT want their services. My car cpu shows each tpm individually. So I called to tell them the tires weren't rotated and the guy actually fed me some BS about the cpu needing to reset. He said," I helped him rotate your tires myself." That's the worst part...the guy lied even after getting caught. I waited until following day and went up there to confront, but it was a different employee that I didn't really want to eviscerate. Upon hearing what happened, he just shook his head and had my tires immediately rotated. No refund or compensation was offered. So again.....Liars. Scammers. Lazy. I brought two VW Golfs to Mr. Tire in April for simple oil changes. I supplied my own oil and filters--just needed labor. Neither vehicle had any oil leaks beforehand, and no one mentioned anything about a leak during the service. Afterward, I noticed oil leaking from one of the cars (the Silver one). Took it back, was told there was no leak. Decided to check myself and found oil around the filter housing. A VW specialist confirmed the housing was cracked--it cost me $1,173 to fix. Shortly after, the other vehicle (the Blue one) showed similar issues. Same story--leaking oil after the same technician worked on it. The Manager at that location, Kenneth, told me the technician had been let go. They acknowledged that both cars had the same failure, but they still haven't taken responsibility. I've been chasing them for weeks with no follow-up. If something goes wrong here, don't expect accountability. Still waiting on a proper resolution. Would not recommend. read more

This used to be a good shop, but for the last year or so it's been absolutely awful. I took my four vehicles in for various things over a week and they failed to do any of the jobs correctly. Dodge Durango had a brake job including new rotors 2 months before. Started to shake when applying the brakes, so they replaced the rotors. It was even worse! Took it back and they said they'd installed faulty rotors. Installed new rotors again. This time they failed to torque down the bolts so that the calipers jumped around every time you applied the brakes. Took it elsewhere to get properly torqued. Won't be bringing that vehicle back. Lexus sedan needed an oil change, and they poured oil all over the motor and left a shop rag under the hood. Could have gotten caught in the belt and caused real damage. Ford Explorer got 4 new tires, and one needed a patch within a week. Claimed I did not have road hazard until I showed them the paperwork (always keep all paperwork). They patched it but I've just had to replace the tire and see they didn't apply the patch correctly. Didn't even remove the red plastic backing over the adhesive!! It's red so you don't miss it. They missed it. Discount Tire says the patch caused the internal belt separation which occurred precisely at the patch location. They worked on the AC for the Explorer, but installed faulty dip tube, never could find the leak, overfilled compressor to the point it locked up, and I finally had to take it elsewhere to get a new compressor, evaporator, dip tube (the 3rd, I believe), and so forth. We asked them to fix the door lock actuator, and they damaged the door in removing it. Then tossed the actuator away and didn't install a new one. Charged me, though. :-) All in all, I've finally learned that if I want my vehicles broken, this is the shop to do it. read more

So now I'm even more irritated. Mother's Day 2024 I bought new tires. They over torqued my lug nuts. Two lugs broke off and they didn't tell me. I took it back and when they were fixing it they broke another one and told me I'd have to pay if anymore brake. I told them to drop my car and I'll do it myself. I'm working on my car and come to find out half my hardware for my brakes never got put back on. The disrespect that they gave me as I had them fix their mistakes and as they told me that I'd have to pay for anything else that brakes because they over torqued my lug nuts, along with them not telling me what broke and what they forgot to reinstall is why I'm writing this review. Don't go to this Mr. Tire. Go to someone that might actually give a crap. Oh yea. They also locked my keys in my truck and said they weren't able to get into it. This shop has been absolutely terrible. The communication has been non-existent and when I do get ahold of them, all I get is more excuses and keep being told it will be ready "by the end of the week" pretty much every week since I brought it in. They have had my car now for three months with no end in sight. I originally brought it in for an oil change on August 18, 2025 and they completely ruined my engine. They gave the car back after the oil change with a leaky drain plug. It was not leaking at all when I brought it in. I noticed the heavy leak as soon as I got home and had to immediately bring the car back. They then told me that the threading was destroyed and they could not find a replacement drain plug that would fit nor could they re-thread it. They decided to replace the oil pan so I waited a couple of weeks for that to be done. They gave me the car back and on the way home, the oil pressure light came on so I called them and they had the car towed back to the shop. After another waiting period, I was told that the oil pan that they put in was defective and caused debris to get inside the engine so they were going to try to clean it out. This did not work and they ended up sending the car to the Volvo dealership to see what they thought they should do. The dealer said the engine needed to be replaced. They ordered a new engine which took forever to arrive and every time I asked about the installation progress I got a new excuse, not enough staff, had to order special parts, had to order special tools etc. Last time I spoke with them they were unclear about what the issue was but said they had to replace the oil pan again on the new engine and try to flush that one out because there was some other unspecified issue. They admitted fault from the beginning so I have not been charged for any services beyond the initial oil change but even if I ever do get my car back it will never be the same and I cannot trust anything they said or did. I honestly don't know what to do at this point, I need my car back but I don't trust that the engine will be trustworthy. I do not recommend this shop at all and they have completely failed me. I was told last week that it would be ready over the weekend. I just called again today and was told that George, the man I've been speaking with and I presume to be the manager, is on vacation this week so again I am being dicked around and left waiting indefinitely. Do not bring your car here for any reason. They didn't even notice that one of my tires was super low on air when I picked it up after the oil change; I saw it immediately and had to ask them to fill it. I brought the car in for tire puncture repair. At pickup time (7:30am) no techs were available to remount the tire. So off I went to do it myself. 2006 Hondas have only rudimentary tools to get this done. Am 73 with back issues; it was not a fun procedure on a gravel driveway. My knees may never forgive me. I have been a longtime customer to this Mr Tire location (10 years), but within the last few months they have undergone some new management, which has caused some dramatic downturns in service at this place. I recently took my car here for a state inspection, like I always do every year. I was told my car failed inspection because I need all new tires and a new front strut assembly along with a wheel alignment. Grand total was $3,000. I thought this was a little absurd as my tires still have a lot of life left in them (only 50,000 miles on them) and the strut issue seemed suspicious. So I took it to my regular mechanic shop for an 2nd opinion/inspection and they said everything was good and passed it with flying colors. Be careful at this place. They seem to be failing car inspections in order to generate sales. I might have to report them to the DMV. read more

Bought some tires from Amazon, as they were $80 less PER TIRE than anyone else. Tires are great, but I foolishly selected their install service, which they outsource to Mr. Tire, and this location was the most convenient for me. Well, eff them (or at least store 1183). They dinged up my wheels pretty good with sloppy wrench work, and when I called BS the local manager of course denied it. He had a tech show me a nice new thinwall plastic coated socket, but when I asked if that was the tool used on my wheels, he said "I don't know. I didn't do the work." Attempted deception, if you ask me. So when I insisted on asking the tech who actually did the work, he admitted he didn't have a tool like that and produced some worn-out double-ended universal thing that he had used. Manager then threw me out of the shop for calling him a liar when I insisted they did the damage. With no other recourse, I contacted Monro corporate and they actually sent out an insurance adjuster who (surprise, surprise) agreed with me...and I now have a check sufficient to replace the wheels. I sincerely hope HR has attended to their personnel issue as well. I really attempted to give them the opportunity to address the problem, but all I got was deception and aggression. This is a review on the customer service (or lack thereof) I didn't actually get the oil change I had scheduled. I just moved to town and looking for a shop to get my regular oil changes and tire maintenance as needed. I called on a Thursday afternoon, spoke to a pretty friendly guy. He said their books were wide open for that weekend. I made a reservation for 5 but he let me know the shop doesn't like taking appointments after 4. OK cool, book me for 4pm on Saturday. He confirmed and said I've got you down "first name here" (I guess they have some type of caller ID because he actually called me by my husband's name since our mobile phones are registered to him...anyhow). I was excited to finally get my oil change scheduled. I had been calling around to different places for about a week but most places with decent reviews are closed on the weekend and schedules are packed during the weekday. Well Saturday came and I headed over to Mr. Tire. I got there at 4. It was a ghost town! But the garage doors were still open so I was hopeful. I find a place to park and go inside to check-in. After waiting for the front desk rep to try to get into the system we asked whether he was able to find our appt. He finally tells us he wasn't even checking because he couldn't get in the system yet. A few more minutes of waiting he confirms there is no 4pm oil change. No offer to squeeze us in, because apparently they were having a "cleaning crew" come in...no offer to get us in another day. Just a sad a$$ response of "apparently 'he' didn't put you in the schedule ". All in all I took a gamble considering their not so stellar reviews and lesson learned they won't be getting my service. Me and My Family broke down on the way to the beach. This was the closest car shop around. We left it here all week while at the beach because it was Five hours away from us so we were definitely not coming back to get it. We could make due with a truck and a small car. Leaving it was hard for us because it was a very squished trip. If we had one more person then we definitely would have been in trouble and needed a rental. We left it and they fixed it and today we picked it up. The guy immediately knew who we were and asked us how our trip was and if we had fun. Which was very nice of him to do so. The truck is in great condition and is working perfectly now. So thank You Mr. Tire guys for keeping our pawpaws truck safe because if not we all would be 6 ft under. Have had very positive experiences at the Chapel Hill Mr. Tire. Most recently, our car got a slashed tire and 2 cracked rims on Mt. Moriah Rd. in Durham near the back entrance to the Walmart (drivers beware - there is a huge gash in the road there!). We had our car towed to Mr. Tire on a Sunday. They could not order the rims, but they let us keep our car in their lot while we found them online and they ordered the tire and got it in overnight. The rims arrived on the day before Thanksgiving and by 10am the day after Thanksgiving, our new rims and tire were installed, even earlier than our noon appointment for that Friday. As a die hard Pitt Panther fan, I was in town for the Pitt vs UNC game and was staying at the Tru Hotel at Chapel Hill. After the game, noticed I had a low tire pressure in my right rear and found a nail right in the grove of the tire. As the closest place, and open on Sunday I was sure to be there right at open. Less than an hour, even without an appointment, they got me in and immediately fixed my tire to get me back on the road. Super great and friendly service. 10/10 would recommend!!!! read more

Do not go here for brakes. I went and they told me I needed front and back pads and rotors replaced and quoted over 1000. I went to another place to find out I did not even have pads and rotors to replace in the rear, I have drum brakes. I went to take the compressor out and it was barely screwed in. They left actual parts just sitting there hanging. I took the compressor out, got a new one, went to someone else and now it's working. Went and took Mr. Tires broken AC compressor back and they told me I might get a refund in 3months. When confronted about the job they did on the phone, they hung up the phone on me. The person on phone on July 16, not Dave, became very adversarial and insisted that I show him respect before he would tell me whether the tires were in stock. Basically they charge you extra for road hazard warranty and discount tire warehouse charges you extra for installation and in the end the prices are similar. DO NOT GO HERE. This week I had my starter replaced by Mr. Tire. It was the first time I replaced anything other than the oil or tranny fluid on my 05 Pontiac vibe. The car has been the best car I've ever owned. ZERO problems. Anyway, Get the car back and it immediately starts stuttering and shaking like the engine is seizing (not even a minute after leaving the parking lot). This car has never had one problem and was running awesome before the starter went. Well, the car starts overheating. I looked under the hood and these dudes never put the main wire back into my radiator fan. You need to take that out to replace the starter and these guys never plugged it back in. Are you serious? My engine could have been absolutely destroyed because of this neglect and carelessness by Mr. Tire. I clipped the wire back in and the car runs fantastic. So, I called them today and spoke with Al. He was as disrespectful as it gets and denied that his guys disconnected the wire, not knowing you need to disconnect it to get to the starter. He basically called me a lair and told me "we can play this game where you accuse me and I accuse you of lying, so what's it gonna be." Their reviews are 100% fake, by the way. I'll start with the positive. Dave has been nice to work with, but is on vacation now. I had a tirerack order shipped here to swap out 4 tires. They damaged my 19 inch wheels on two separate occasions and scratched my leather steering wheel. They had a local person try to fix the wheels, but scratches remain. I've called national customer service and they are filing a claim with their insurance company. I will update this review as help arrives from national customer service. I hope I don't have to go back to this location though. read more

Got a quote over the phone, decided to choose this place over other places, mainly because it's a one-stop maintenance shop. Need some work done on my little everyday beater. I'm no novice at the mechanic game, I know how to do basic maintenance on my car, but I don't have a paved driveway or a garage, so it's not easy for me to do certain things myself. Do your research and get a quote! When I went in, I gave him the list of things needing to be done on my car. He gave me a $750 or so quote, which should have been more like 600, so I went over the quote with the guy, who then reduced it by a few miscellaneous charges that were apparently unnecessary and got me down to the price I was expecting. Bad experience with tire. Had bought two tires there four months prior when I began to slowly leak air. Took it in for inspection and check the tire. First was told unrepairable then after I asked if still on waranty was told they could patch it. The tire was exactlythe same 30 lb pressure reading when I left as when I brought it in. Still leaking I took the car back with the receipt-again told them I bought the tie there-they worked on it free of charge and handed back to me my same receipt. This time I could tell it was worked on because the tire was wet. It continued to leak-I will not go back there. Tip to consumer- ask to see what the say is wrong with your vehicle before Any repair or purchase and know your warranty. read more
