I was helped right away, and Anthony drove the car into a bay. He and their head mechanic Jordan told me it was actually a brake problem, and showed me exactly what. I was steeling myself for a hefty bill and long wait, but it turned out to be half what I was afraid of and took less than two hours to complete the fix. Now, that was a relief given my fears, but what do I know about cars and what it costs to fix them? The point is, they were all friendly, helpful, and understanding. Took my car in for an inspection at 8 am. They told me, "We won't do inspections today. Come back at noon and we'll do it in the afternoon." I'm sorry, what? "Come back at noon." "Yes, sir. We aren't doing inspections today but we will this afternoon. We'll get you right in." Uh...okay. Came back at noon. They told me it was a two hour wait. So to be safe, I scheduled an appointment at 3:30 pm. Showed up a little after 3 to be prompt and early. The girl never put me in the system. She still checked me in at 3:15, told me it would be 45 minutes. At 4:00, the car finally goes up. Then they call me back to tell me that I have a wheel bearing that needs repair. They want to show me. I tell them I don't need to see the wheel bearing, and I just want to know what the impact is. They insist I need to see the wheel bearing. I tell them, no, I know what a wheel bearing is. I just had the driver's side replaced. No, you need to see the wheel bearing. At this point, with this being my fourth trip to the location AND having told them I don't need to see the wheel bearing, I finally snap and tell them just to fix the damned thing. They then failed my car and told me to leave the store. The mechanic got in my face, even when I tried to calmly talk to him. Before today, I had nothing but praise for this place. Now, forget them. Wow I wish I could rate them with a zero star. I made an appointment with this location yesterday morning because they are close to where I live. I needed an oil change. I should have asked for prices because anywhere else I've ever gone to it would range between 45 to 65 give it take 5 dollars. I ended up paying 115 dollars. it took them one hour and 25 minutes on top of it. they had rude customer service from the beginning. I would highly recommend to stay away and go somewhere else. read more

They are under new management and just ripped me off for $1100. Plus, I had to take my car back the next day since they didn't get it right. Manager never apologized for the inconvenience or explained why the car had to be returned. The old management was great. Now, I have to find another place for repairs and maintenance. read more

Fix your online appointment system. Or at a minimum establish a proper expectation for the customer. You're not exactly setting your locations up for success by allowing someone to book a 'stay and wait' appointment for a specific time, just to be told to come back two hours later when they arrive at the appointment time. read more

I owe these guys big time!!!! I purchased a large cargo van and it came with a huge heavy spare tire. It was supposed to be mounted underneath the van but the dealership just threw it in the cargo area. I had no idea how to mount it and didn't have the right tools to do it either. Very disappointed after my experience here. First, indoor service staff not wearing masks and not enforcing mask wearing to others inside of the building. Second, they charged me $150 to replace 1 tire with the cheapest option available on an old truck, nothing fancy. If I hadn't been towed there by AAA, I would have gone elsewhere and will not be back. The positive is that they were quick, so they earned 1 star for that. read more

I'm pretty picky about where to take my car not because I'm high maintenance but because I've found that places will try to take advantage of the fact that I'm a younger female who may not know the most about cars (yes, this has happened to me several times throughout the triangle) but it's really nice to know that isn't the case here! I've been here twice for several different things and George and his team were awesome. I was able to voice my concerns, be included in the conversation of what could be done and what's even nicer is they're right next to the downtown YMCA so I could work out instead of waiting inside. They have longer hours which is great when you can't take time during the day to get your car needs met; I mean it's so great that they're open till 7pm during the week! I've always been greeted warmly when I come in which is always nice. If you're looking for a place to get some car services done and need some flexible hours, this Mr. Tire is your place! read more

Don't waste your time and money here. They didn't talk prices with me and added a bunch of stuff to the bill without telling me. My total was three times as much as I anticipated. When I asked about it I was told, "Well, there's a lot of little fees that add up." They changed two tires and did a rotation, yet neglected to fill all the tires to the appropriate air pressure. Made an apt online for a 4:30 state inspection. Showed up by 4:15 and get told they let the inspector on duty go home early so who cares that I had an apt they can't do it. No offer for assistance or reschedule just sorry we can't help. Don't offer appointments and confirm the apt with a confirmation email hours after you make it if you can't fulfill the service. Not happy and will not be returning to this location ever. read more

About 5pm Saturday afternoon I noticed one of my tires was looking flat and sure enough there was a screw causing a slow puncture. I figured I was going really struggle to find anyone open until Monday at the earliest and it would be a huge hassle to have to deal with it around my work schedule. However, Mr Tire was open and not only that, I checked online and they had a coupon for a free tire puncture repair! I drove straight there, got the tire repaired within about 30mins and all for the grand total of $0. I went to Mr. Tire for my annual inspection based on the fact that they took appointments, were close by, and had great reviews. The inspection went well enough though I needed two tires which they had in stock at an ok price. However when I went to pay the bill they had added "road hazard insurance" for 4 tires (not 2) that I had not approved. The person who cashed me out said couldn't remove the insurance because he didn't know how (it changes the tire price to do so) and I would have to talk to a manager. He couldn't even remove the insurance for the extra two tires I was charged insurance for but didn't purchase. A manager wasn't there then and I was initially told I would have to return to the store the following day and wait for a manager to be able to talk to me to straighten it out. I said I couldn't return and asked to please have someone call me to straighten it out which he agreed he could. That was 5 days ago -- no one has called, the extra 26-52 dollars overcharged for insurance hasn't been removed from credit card charge. I will try calling them later this week, but I am completely underwhelmed with the service that differs so strongly from the other reviews I see here. read more

Sent A acquaintance there to get tires for my car told how much it should cost (I work nights so it's hard for me to do it) but told them how much it should cost. I originally told her to go to thrifty tire on roxboro rd but she went to mr.tire on n duke st. Now my car is already in bad shape so I don't let places talk me into doing $2,000 of work that didn't even fix the problem and you basically just got talked out of all your money. I work on all of our cars in the family me and my cousin. I remember I went there for an inspection like 8 years ago and they were trying to say oh this needs fixed that needs fixed and I said ok I came for an inspection not to pay $800 to replace the button that locks a rear door. So needless to say I've never got work done there before. Anyway I just saw the bill for these "tires" $280. $25 labor to put on each tire then an additional $80. Last time I went to thrifty tire I got 2 tires for $50 or so put on no problem or nothing. So in the short run research or have knowledge into what you are doing before going in blind because something that should of cost no more than $160-$180 max and that's generous just cost an additional $100 on in my opinion "made up work details" partly on part of a consumer thinking that the seller is honest and doing the right thing. The tires are great though brand new great quality. They are pretty fair when it comes to actually buying the tire and they are of great quality and good selection. read more

On Christmas eve I was dealing with a car window that wouldn't go up and facing 3 days of rain. I was feeling pretty hopeless until I noticed these guys were open. Not only open, but friendly! George cheerfully assured me that they would get my window fixed in a couple hours. Sure enough that's exactly what happened. Although I suppose it's a way to make a sale, I appreciated the printout--with prices--of upcoming recommended service on my car they gave me at checkout. Didn't get it right the first time, but eventually got it right without additional cost to me or being defensive. So this shop has redeemed itself. (MON) brought car in to have raspy, whirring noise checked. Sale Rep recommended a bunch of general maintenance and replacement of alternator belt. A few minutes after driving away, noise was back louder and raspier than ever. (SAT) returned to a re-do. Saturday mechanic said he wanted to check pulleys and bearings, but was short-handed that day and asked for car to be left another day. (SUN afternoon) smoke and burning-rubber smell erupted from under hood. Pulled into parking lot with a really stiff steering wheel. Alternator belt had slipped off so I got AAA tow from Raleigh back to this shop. I live in Durham. (MON #2) Car put to right order. Picking up car was hassle-free, no additional charges to me. They handed me the part that should have been replaced during the first visit - a worn out idler pulley with now-damaged bearings. Personnel I talked to were pleasant throughout and that made a huge difference turning a disappointing experience into a more positive one. read more
