I use to love coming here a few years back as the manager was great and always made sure I had the best deal and was in and out in a timely fashion. I'm pretty sure they have had a management change since then as I have used them twice this year and each time was a disappointment. First, I called to purchase tires. The gentleman on the phone stated he could order what I wanted and he could see they were in stock but I had to drive there to pre-pay and he could not take payment over the phone. I drive there the next morning and another person helped me and was completely clueless to why I was told I had to come in and that no payment was needed. The tires I wanted, however, he could NOT order and wasn't sure why I was told they could be ordered as they were sold out everywhere. I ordered an alternative but when I came in to have them installed, no one could initially locate the tires but luckily were eventually able to find them. The second time, I made an appointment for an oil change and got several confirmations and reminders of the appointment from Mr. Tire. I walked in for the appointment and was immediately greeted with a "what are you here for?!" Told the guy I had an appointment to which I was told that doesn't matter and it would be a 6+ hour wait if I wanted to stay. He said just come back tomorrow I'll make sure you are first in line. I opted to go to the dealership instead who fit me in immediately and had me in and out in no time (plus did an alignment). The better service and timeliness much made up for the price difference. So, I made an appt online on June 10th at 11am for an appt at 1130 am because they gave me a 60 coupon because of the terrible service I had already gotten. I get there at 1130 and am told it will be a few hours before they can look at my car. So they already knew at 11am that they would not be able to look at my car. The manager told me they only had one person working and once again just did not seem to care at all that they wasted my time. Either the manager is completely inept or this company simply does not care AT ALL about wasting peoples' time. Legitimately never going (to this location) ever again. Made a morning appointment for the next day online for 4 tire replacements they displayed on their site assuming they were in stock. Dropped off the keys same day- turns out, they don't have those tires in stock. Cool. My fault. "What DO you have in stock thats comparable?." Rattled a few options off. Cool. Lets go with those. Next day, get a call around 1 PM (mind you, morning appointment, so I thought they were calling that they'd be done). They called to say they DONT have those tires in stock- Ok. Whats something YOU DO (again) have in stock. Picked one asked about when it would be done, they said "the car is already in the air, shouldn't be long." Called at 3:45 asking for a status as I was about to leave to come pick it up in about 30 minutes. Guy said "Your wife just came and picked it up..." I'm literally looking at my wife as he says this so both of us look at each other genuinely confused, I say "what do you mean, I dont understand..." "Yeah, you're wife just came by and picked it up..." I said "well, thats impossible i'm literally staring at my wife right now..." so now i'm starting to panic because we've had bad experiences with theft in that same exact parking lot more than once so i'm thinking they legit gave the keys to some random person and I need to start calling the cops...THEN I HEAR A ROARING LAUGHTHER OVER THE PHONE with what sounded like at least 3 people audibly laughing (confirming i was on speaker phone, unbeknownst to me). It took them so long to stop laughing for me to even ask "Is this a joke, are you laughing about this?" Guy was still trying to hold in his laughter as he said, "I'm just joking, yeah we still have your car, it'll be ready in 30 minutes." Get there in 30 minutes- Car wasn't ready for another hour after that... There were people in there when I arrived so I didn't want to make a scene but I told the guy when I got to the counter that was disgustingly unprofessional. I'm not the type to ask for a Manager to to try and get someone fired so I left with the satisfaction that I paid my final bill with them and i'll no longer be returning. Absolute frauds. They claimed a rattling noise when accelerating was a busted catalytic converter and would cost more than $3k to replace. Odd, considering the catalytic converter had just been replaced following a theft under two years prior. Staff was friendly, but also lied to me and invented over $1300 worth of fake repairs they insisted needed doing, so at that point, does "friendly" even matter? I went to them for a low tire pressure light that wouldn't go off even after checking the pressure in all four tires. They took care of that, and then told me I had cracked CV boots and bad axles and a dying battery. I've had a cracked CV boot before, and the noise the car makes is pretty recognizable (and you'd expect to see an oily puddle under the spot where it's cracked), and I'd none of the signs. I took the car to the mechanic I usually go to, who has always been up front with me about what does and doesn't need doing, what needs doing right away, and what can wait for a while if my budget is tight. I told him I'd been given a laundry list of 1300 worth of repairs that needed doing, but didn't trust the guy who said it, so could he take a close look at everything? And I would be asking him to do any repairs he found, so he would be the one getting paid. He said there was absolutely nothing wrong with the car. Not one thing. I paid him the diagnostic fee plus extra as a thank you, and I'll keep going to him for as long as he's open. If you need anything at all done to your car in the Hagerstown area, drive right past these people. They'll smile and lie to your face. read more

I am unable to give them 0 stars, so I am giving 1 star. Their employee at the register Nick was very rude and arrogant. They charged me $165 for 10 mins of work. Upon asking the reason for the charge, I was confronted by Nick with "you're not paying us for an hour of work you are paying us for 10 yrs of experience". I let it go and asked him to give me a diagnostic report that I paid $165 for. He could not provide me an official report instead he went and asked a mechanic to handwrite it on the back of a paper. When I called again thinking Nick would be calm and I could talk to a manager, Nick said he was gone for the day, I found it very strange because It was not even the time for the shop to close (it was 5:40 and the shop closes at 6:00). If Mr. Tyre's management is even slightly concerned about the customers, please teach the staff to treat your customers with some respect. Very horrible experience. I've had two positive experiences here. Both times they were able to patch a tire for me. I was in and out in about an hour both times. It is best to call for an appointment though as their online system doesn't update them very quickly, and if you make an appointment 30 minutes ahead of time, they may be full with other appointments. I was driving through Maryland and my Infiniti has some sort of valve stem malfunction and started leaking air. I pulled into Hagerstown and the closest repair facility which happened to be Me Tire. They tell me I need a new stem but it will be $75 because the TPMS sensor comes attached. Ok, more than I want to pay, but I'm in a pinch and out of town. So they do the job and when I get in my car, the TPMS light is on. I walk in and they say "just drive it 15 miles and it will reset." So I drive another 100 miles and nope, it doesn't reset. That was over a year ago. Just took my car in to get it fixed once and for all and my mechanic tells me that I need a new sensor and the one that Mr Tire installed failed when read by the wireless unit and there is no fix for it. Do yourself a favor and avoid these crooks! Does Mr Tire even care they have a 1.5 star rating???? That sucks on any level! And you can keep your canned responses! Made an appt. for an oil change , I was told it included tire rotation and a courtesy inspection , I was interested in the inspection because I knew it has issues in the suspension, I had already had it looked at , I wanted a second opinion. I get back to get my car and the Tires were not rotated! When I asked they said I didn't request it! Well ... who's the salesman? Me or them? I asked what was going on with the car per inspection , he said , "Nothing on the paperwork, let me ask!" He came back and said " might need a cv boot but that's internal so we can't tell!" Wow! Guy on the phone [Dorwin] told me my car was almost ready so I could come to the shop to pick it up. Arrived by closing time due to how far away I live from the shop and the guy wouldn't open the door. The same man yelled at me through the door that they were closed and I could pick up my car tomorrow at 9am. I reiterated he told me to come to the shop and he told me he didn't have time for this because he needed to go to his sons homecoming. We left at 6:02pm. Took my car in because my tire pressure monitor light was on. I was told 2 of them were broken off and needed replacing. They replaced them light still won't go off was told drive 15 miles still won't go off. Dealer told me it's because cant use anything but Toyota they tell me not true! They promise it will be fixed. They lied! I spent $242 on tire pressure monitors that don't work and then they broke a back light in my car that tells me the gas mileage and all they'll tell me is oops no idea what happened there. I have a 1999 chevy s10. I brought it in to Mr. Tire to get 2 new rear tires and get them balanced and aligned. While I was there they told me that the wheel bearing was broken on the front left side. I got the estimate and they said for 2 tires, an alignment, and the order and install of a new wheel bearing would be over $900. The wheel bearing that they were trying to sell me was close to $300 dollars. (However when I ordered them that night online and I got 2 of them for 60 dollars.) They also said an alignment wouldn't be possible because of the broken wheel bearing so I expected them to remove it from the bill but they didn't so I got charged for a $105 dollar alignment which I didn't receive. I brought this up and his response was "oops". I brought it back in 3 days later with the 2 new wheel bearings for them to put on and they even fixed their screw up by giving me an alignment without charging me. However when I pulled out of Mr. Tire my brake light had come on and it wasn't on before they "fixed my wheel bearings". I brought it back in to them and they want to charge me another $70 just to look at it. The people behind the register are extremely rude and unhelpful. The only upside to this place are the actual mechanics who are very nice and will go to lengths to help you especially Charlie (mechanic that worked on my truck). Friendly staff, great service, easily schedule your appointment online within 5 minutes. Was running late that day so I called and they were able to push my appointment back by 30 minutes for me which worked out great for me. I said I'd stay there and wait when scheduling online, but there was a bk right across from this location so we said hey well probably go get some food while we wait. I'm very disappointed in my visit to this location. I went in for an oil change and for a terrible vibration in my front end. They told me all 4 tires needed replacing and I thought they did all and that I needed brakes pads only. Which I thought they did both. The vibration continued. I went to another shop today for said vibration and they showed me my rear tires were bald 3/4 through from the inside out. That's not something that happened from one visit to the next and I'm very disappointed that the tires weren't brought to my attention and that they were pushing a partial brake job. I had them replace my front brake pads on my mini van in north Carolina with top of the line ceramic pads with a "lifetime warranty", (which of course only covers the brake pads, not labor). Went to this location, with receipt in hand, and inquired what they would charge in labor to replace the warranty brake pads. They did not want to quote a price until after they inspected my vehicle & had dis-assembled my vehicle. I kept pressing for a price for labor to only replace the warranty pads ensuring them that it may need more than that. After pushing to get a price, I was quoted a labor price far exceeding my original expense for the entire job. I went to the auto parts store, purchased ceramic lifetime pads and two new rotors, paid a local repair facility to install them and still saved money from Mr. Tires labor only quote to replace my warranty pads. I was a loyal customer of Mr. Tire until my most recent experience. I went in for an oil change and also had a free safety inspection done at the time. When they were done with my car, they advised me that my brakes and rotors would need to be replaced (both front and rear) at a staggering $399 per axle! Well, my aunt recently started dating a mechanic and he offered to change them for me. When he got my car in the garage and looked at them, I still had at least half of the brake pad left on both the front and rear! I didn't even need brake pads let alone new rotors! This company tried to rob me, they will not get my business ever again. My advise, if you are going to them for anything...just don't. The personnel checked out the car and gave me the report of what they recommended. It was much less than what I thought it was going to be. Stay away! Hard sell, inaccurate at how long it will take and when given the estimate, and I specifically asked if it included alignment, Mel said "yeah, that's everything out the door". He never said alignment CHECK, which is what I found out it was when I went to pay the bill. He tried to stick the road warranty on the bill, which I did not want, and the alignment price was an additional 89.99! When I questioned the almost $100.00 difference in the price, was the first time I heard the word "check". It took longer, (and I had an appt) than stated and while waiting, I heard him tell someone that his car was so bad that he shouldn't drive it and the repairs cost a cool$1600.00+ and that was after he mentioned giving all the discounts he could to "help ya out man". I was quoted 25 dollars and upon bringing my car in was never notified when the repair facility replaced a "burnt out" wire and fuse-then charged me a total of 75!!!
