Mr. West is another one of my favorite cafes. I love their coffee and the ambiance. It's the perfect spot to get some work done or simply hang out and relax. I've also tried their grilled cheese sandwich, which was pretty good. Overall, it's a great cafe with excellent coffee.
Snagged 2 seats at the bar. Otherwise it's open seating and you stand in line to order food. It was nice to sit at the bar as it was not as noisy sitting at the tables. Ordered the club sandwich ($18.50) and Mr. West Combo $16 - half sandwich, tomato soup and a cookie. They messed up my sandwich as I wanted a tuna melt but quick fix for that. Food was tasty and decent portions. Good option for a meal and drinks in UVillage.
This used to be my go to coffee shop when in the area. I love the space and the vibe and the coffee / food used to be great. The last couple times I've been I've been disappointed in both AND the prices have really gotten high. I know most coffee shops are experiencing this but this place seems really extreme.
There was a long line on weekend brunch hours. We got coffee (both or espresso drinks - a Cortado and the other was a macchiato) and pastry. I forgot the name of the pastry, but it was with berries and it was amazing. The line took us about 20 minutes
Great cafe for healthy brunch and breakfast. I love it that there are more vegan and vegetarian options. I had the shashuka, it was super delicious. A great comfort food on a rainy Seattle morning. The coffee was solid. It was a pleasant experience.
Good place to study! It closes late which is really nice. I ordered a grilled cheese and a plain latte and both were good. I know they have good specialty drinks--I've tried the cardamom one in the past but wasn't a big fan--but lots of variety. Expensive-ish but worth it! In the cafe, there was light music, good lighting, and I could find a seat.
Great breakfast place in U village (really the only option). Their curried avocado toast is incredible with the crumbled bacon on top. I will get it every time even if it's kind of overpriced...$21. Their drinks are on the pricier end as well. It's honestly a really cute and fun vibe once you're sitting down and have your food/drinks in front of you. I just really don't enjoy the mad house it is when you walk in. It gets stressful waiting in a line to order food and then waiting in a separate line to order a cocktail. After all the waiting, you then have to fight for the limited seating.
WiFi has definitely improved! The staff are friendly and food is tasty. It's cozy and has a nice ambiance. Hopefully once winter hits it stays warm cause I've been coming here a lot lately!
This place as cute as the photos! The inside is very aesthetically pleasing. However I could see how busy it gets. Luckily for me, no one was at the kiosk on a Tuesday around 11. I got a coffee (5.50) and a croissant (3.50). The croissant was 10/10. It was warmed perfectly and super buttery. The coffee was good but it's not the greatest thing. Pricing on both items was reasonable! There was no seating available, but next time would like to see how dine in goes. If you're looking for a cute cafe to get some work done, I would recommend Mr West
We ordered coffee since we just had dinner. They had a patio out back and where we sat. The coffee tasted delicious and it even had a cute design. Service was fast and ambience is very inviting.
Wanted a bite to eat early in the morning at u village and this is the only spot open, it was pretty crazy line at 10/11 am and a little hard to find seating but we got spots in the indoor outdoor area. There wasn't much interaction with service as you order through a tablet and they text you to pick up your order at the bar and it's self service clean, it was a little hard to find the cleaning tubs though. Overall it was very nice and the food was good and great spot when you're at the mall. The savory roll was meh but the brussel sprouts and sandwich was alright, I thought the coffee was pretty oaky too.
I go to study spot around u district!! This place has so much to offer and such a good variety of food options. I usually get their Turkish eggs but since I came during happy hour this time I got their white bean hummus with pita! I love the addition of chilly crisp oil on top! They give so much hummus that u couldn't finish it and wished I got the leftovers to go. They also have a lot of outlets here so it's great for studying. They also have great service here consistently. All the staff are super sweet!
Love this place for the ambiance and the food! It has a very trendy vibe and they have really good coffee and cocktails as well as brunch food. We tried: avocado curry toast, shakshuka, Turkish eggs, eggplant yogurt dip, tuna melt for food. They were all good but my favorite was the eggplant dip with veggie crudités and the Turkish egg! For lattes, their coconut cardamom latte and Seattle fog were super pleasant and fragrant. Even their cocktails were amazing - not too sweet but just the right amount of fruity-ness! It is one of our favorite places to go for brunch or happy hour in Seattle! The line can be quite long for weekend brunch though. read more

Really cool and hip cafe, perfect for brunch and afternoon bites. Extensive food and drink options. Easy to miss from the outside but there is no shortage of patrons. It can be noisy because it gets packed and all the indoor seats are taken by 9am, hard to find a seat by 10am... on a weekday! That's hard to believe considering there's more seats than I can count. They have a nice variety of tables, booths, bars, and patio seating, and every bar seat has a bag holder (I wish more places did this!) But why are 95% of the morning patrons blonde? There's plenty of seating after 2pm and it's a popular work space with plenty of charging outlets. You order first, pick your own seats, and they deliver the food to you. They also serve alcoholic drinks! It's a 16+ place and opens all day from 8am-8pm. Happy hour starts 4 and I was so excited when they started setting up the candles. So many people choose to study at Starbucks on the other side of U Village but they are missing out by not coming here! What a vibe! read more
Absolutely mind boggling ordering/seating arrangements. We waited in a line for over 30 minutes to order with only 6 people in front of us then got grilled by a waiter because we were sitting at a table waiting for our food The coffees, mimosas, food all came out in random groups (there were only two of us). My croissant was actually burnt but I just picked it apart because it had already taken so long to get food. It was clearly not okay but no one along the line - kitchen, waiter, etc - seemed to care. For the prices this was really unacceptable. The 20-something kid liked the vibe and her avocado toast. Lots of other options for brunch in the Seattle area so I don't think I'll be back. read more

While in Seattle my friend took me down to University Village and picked Mr. West to have lunch at. I picked out the seasonal burrata and it was.. delicious. I love cheese, and burrata has been one of my newer additions to my palate. Their seasonal plate had nectarines and I opted for proscuitto and bread, so this was the perfect light lunch for me. Their bread was fluffy, soft and moist, which paired well with the balsamic-like dressing over the burrata. I ate everything (minus a few herb leaves) as the salt and sweet was so balanced. I wish there was a location in LA! And now I am on the hunt for more delicious burrata platters. read more

An aesthetic spot in uvillage at which you can get a drink and some work done. The cold brew was smooth and it looked like they served alcoholic drinks too. They have tables with power outlets under the benches! They were a bit slow at taking orders though. read more

Had an enjoyable experience here. I ordered an avocado toast and my friend ordered Mr. breakfast, with fried Brussels to share. Everything was so delicious! This was an unexpected pleasure to find in the middle of the University Village outdoor mall. You stand in line to order your breakfast. You can watch them making the match up with the appropriate bamboo whisk while you wait. I ordered the grapefruit hops-based kombucha, and it was incredibly well balanced, not too vinegary, not too tart, just a really refreshing drink at breakfast. I also ordered the house cured king salmon, pictured below. My date ordered the classic breakfast, which came with bacon, and avocado, and two perfectly poached eggs. We added blackberry walnut turnover to add a little bit of sweet, and it was perfect: flaky, and not too sweet. The atmosphere was lovely with plants and contemporary café/diner-like seating. There was also a good size cooler with cold bottles of wine and bubbles ready to go. In case you need to pick something up on your way home, or to a party without having the time to chill. FOOD: The shakshouka was amazing! Just enough food to fuel my morning. The pita bread that comes as the side is lightly drizzled with olive oil and still soft. The dish came out extremely hot so beware. AMBIANCE: The cafe is a wonderful place to get work done or catch up with a friend. You'll find people doing a mix of both. There's bar seating available for those that want to have a boozy breakfast/brunch. 10/10 recommend that those visiting the area stop here read more

We came to Mr. West for a small breakfast and noticed it was pretty busy, even on a weekday. Totally understandable though, because the space is beautiful, and the interior is super aesthetic. They don't just sell coffee either--they've got wines, local goods, plants, and little gifts too. They also have food like toast and sandwiches, which was exactly what we wanted. We both got avocado toast and tried the tomato soup. Everything was really good, and the lady at the register was super friendly. The only downside was that my partner's avocado toast went to another table, so we had to wait another 20 minutes to get it. But everyone was nice and did their best to make up for it. Overall, it was a great experience, and the place was really clean! read more

If you can snag a spot, Mr. West is an aesthetic place to grab brunch after a lovely morning of shopping in the village, or painting some ceramics at Paint the Town a couple doors down, in our case. I got the Mr. West Club ($17), which was delicious and more filling than I expected. Would come back if I'm in the area again! read more

We chose this location to meet up with one of my good friend from LA and we enjoyed it. The service was good and we had an array of sandwiches (Mr. West Club, Mr. Breakfast, Strawberry toast) and accompanied by a good coffee. The environment is relaxing, I really liked this place. read more

Self-service, very large and open coffee shop. There are many places tucked away inside and outside of the cafe. Definitely a go-to local spot for those working on their computers, or studying! Ordered their specialty iced maple salted toffee latte and it was super yummy! Loved the coffee itself and by far one of my favorites so far. The notes are very rich and "caramel-ly". I would be interested in purchasing their beans but they only have small bags for purchase. read more

Saturday brunch with group of friends, I ordered brioche breakfast sandwich. The brioche was soft and moist, egg tasted plain, did not tasted salsa verde, arugula does make healthy. I added little green hot sauce for more kick. Without it, the sandwich tasted plain. My friend added bacon which it would be good idea. We shared mister potato chips, it is too salty for me but tzatziki sauce balance it out. Everything looks good. You ordered at the counter and go find a seat. You can also order at the table using QR code. They will bring food to your table. You can grab water bottle and empty glasses. They have water set up with condiment and also to go boxes. It's a really trendy cafe! I got the matcha latte and it was good--wish it was less sweet. I'll say the service was a bit lacking since they didn't really help me bus the table. I also came here to work but the internet was a bit spotty. Could be a good late night option if other cafes are closed, but there are better places to work from read more

My friend introduced me this café and she did not disappoint with the recommendation! SERVICE: 4/5 My friend and I came around at noon during a weekday and there was a small line. Even though ordering did take a while, our drinks and food came out quick. FOOD: 4.5/5 We got the Matcha Latte, Seattle Fog, Shakshuka, and Mr. West Club Sandwich. Everything we ordered was delicious and highly recommended! Both the drinks were sweet without overpowering their base flavors of the matcha and early grey. The Shakshuka had a sour acidity taste from the tomatoes and yogurt and the egg tied it all together by adding a slight creaminess. Lastly, the Mr. West Club Sandwich had the perfect combination of toppings. My favorite part was the pickled onion along with the sauce. Overall, a great and aesthetic spot to study or grab food with friends, however, it can get busy with long lines and be difficult to find seats. read more
A great place to eat for any occasion: long day shopping, grabbing brunch with the girls, or just need a place to study. Mr West Cafe is a very aesthetic cafe + bar with plenty of seating for groups typically between 2-5 people. I think that this cafe would be hard to find seating if you have a large group. How the restaurant works is that you seat yourself and order at the front to receive a number for your order. When I come here I always get a cup of tomato soup and their famous grill cheese. This is a MUST TRY. The tomato soup is so creamy and they have a pesto oil or something on top that adds another layer of flavor. With their grill cheese made out of 3 cheese: cheddar, gouda, and guyere. I personally don't think their coffee is the best. Every time I get a vanilla latte its either too sweet or has a unpleasant coffee taste like expired beans were used. But the food is very delicious. So skip the coffee and go straight for the food. read more

Just be mindful that it is quite popular and busy most days so the likelihood of you having to wait in line for a seat is high! But I would say the food and drinks are worth it. It is such a great place to grab any meal of the day with friends or just solo! My favorites are their skalka and array of toasts. I'm also not a coffee drinker so I loved the variety of tea lattes they had on the menu. The london fog or chai is really good! Highly recommend this place for brunch or lunch:) read more

This is a very cute cafe spot with a very aesthetic modern interior. There is lots of seating inside and outside but the place is usually pretty busy. This makes it a nice spot to study at for a couple of hours with a cup of coffee. While the food looks very pretty, it is expensive and honestly nothing special for its price. I got the curried avocado toast and while there was a good amount of avocado on the toast, it was unfortunately very bland. I also ordered a seasonal salted maple toffee latte. The coffee itself was not bad yet I did not find any hints of maple or toffee and it sadly only tasted like a regular latte. read more
My coworkers and I stumbled into this cafe after having a lunch in the University Village on a weekday. It has a very inviting vibe and the place was pretty full. It almost felt like I was at a marketplace that had a very clean and modern interior design with a well lit atmosphere full of Seattle coffee drinkers and brunch seekers. It was pretty busy. We found ourselves an empty counter table by the window with tall stools. Our coffee drinks were great and it was a great place for a casual hangout with friends. It is definitely a viable option for coffee in the University Village and I enjoyed sitting there, sipping my coffee and enjoying the interior design of the place. As we already had eaten, we only went for coffee but I would love to come back to enjoy their food offering as well for the full experience next time! read more
We stopped by Mr West for a quick drink before getting dinner elsewhere in the village and I'm glad we did. We got there right when happy hour started. The happy hour prices were reasonable. I got the Westarita which is the signature drink on happy hour and I was pleased. It was a delicious margarita with a frose float on the top. It was cute and tasty. Mr west cafe is honest lee such a vibe! The foods and dranks are very good and I love the aesthetic. I didn't give a full 5 stars bc tbh I was craving a crispy chicken sandwich but they didn't have it on the menu sksks. It's Ogey tho I got a grilled bheese instead and although my bread was a wittle burnt it was still quite delectable! The staffs are very kind and service is great. The atmosphere is nice, very old money vibes. The tomato soup is delicious but the sparkling pear drink is HEAVENLY. Seating is hard to snatch so have to be prepared to stand around for a bit before getting a seat. If you grab a seat while a friend is ordering they will ask you to get up from the seat. read more

I've visited Mr. West at least six times before this latest visit. Unfortunately, I now find myself opting for takeout or going elsewhere when I'm at U Village. They have replaced the actual staff who used to take orders with self-service kiosks, which is disappointing. Additionally, there is no one to bus tables or bring orders to your table; instead, they just yell out your name when your order is ready. The seating is already limited, and it's often dirty because no one cleans up unless you request it. On this visit, both I and another customer had to ask for our tables to be cleaned, and then we had to ask them to wipe down the table and counter as well. Overall, this is not an enjoyable dine-in experience for me. The food and staff are good but I just wouldn't eat in any longer. read more

Mr West is definitely one of my favorite cafe ever! I would even say my most favorite one! They have a very beautiful interior design, it gives a relaxing vibe, you can definitely grab a drink or coffee and do your work! Good for Instagram photos too! Food are so good and I keep going back! My bf is a super picky eater and he loved this place! He recommended the grilled cheese! read more
