My previous post was from two separate visits back in August 2016, so it's definitely time for another update for my third visit on 8/2/25. First thing to mention, kudos for their longevity. They are coming up on their first decade next summer. The cafe decor also held up pretty well, including the large glass fixture from the ceiling. Seattle Sunshine Coffee also outlived Ventoux that I had mentioned in my prior post. The barista and I compared my 2016 stamp card to the current design, just had a few slight different nuances. This indie cafe had folks onsite, but not packed. There was still room available whether seated along the sidewalk, main seating area, or the upstairs mezzanine. Some convos to be had, but most of the cafe clientele were on their laptops or reading. Pastry case was well stocked with the wholesale variety from Macrina, plus the usual bevs and cafe fare. I enjoyed my near two hour onsite visit. The only thing I wished is that I had brought a hoodie. The AC was jacked up. and of course, I had savored an iced mocha. Hopefully my next cafe detour won't take nine years though between visits. read more

Came here on a Sunday morning, it was busy but there was lots of seating available. They didn't have any sandwiches that day :( The vibe in the store is very family friendly and cute! The service is attentive and nice. The coffee is tasty and smooth. We all ordered an oatmilk latte, we'd rate 4.5/5. The Matcha latte was 0/5, do not buy, tastes like sugar milk I would come back for the coffee and to get work done! :) read more

The ambiance was great--perfect for working from a café, as most people seemed to be doing just that. The café has plenty of seating, making it a good spot to get some work done. The chairs might not be the most comfortable for long hours, though. Service was quick, with no line, and I opted for the 8 oz coffee. It was strong and smooth, and I really enjoyed it. OMG, the name was prophetic, because this latte delivered pure sunshine straight to my soul. The shot was pulled with surgical precision and paired with perfectly steamed milk that knew exactly when to show off and when to step back. Like the Grinch on Christmas morning, my heart grew three sizes and somehow manifested itself in the heart latte art smiling up at me. Add another five stars to the Seattle coffee map. Feels like everyone knows each other at this place. It's always full and busy with WFHs and students alike, but you can usually find a seat somewhere. Downstairs is a little claustrophobic, and not recommended if it's flu season or need quiet space. Upstairs is very nice and a great place to focus. If you have a seat along the wall, you're guaranteed to have a place to charge. Coffee is standard, strong, and they have stamp cards. There's no reason to not make this a regular study space. read more

Loved this little simple gem while in town for work meetings. We sought it out en route to do some volunteer work nearby. So glad we stopped in as not only was my sugar free vanilla oat milk latte beautiful and good, but it was served in a REAL MUG. I don't know the last time I was in a coffee shop that still utilizes real mugs. It was such a treat as I do prefer to sip my morning beverage out of glass and not a plastic to go cup. Thanks so much for that, Seattle Sunshine! I also got a gluten free fresh fruit muffin (strawberries and nectarines in it) which was amazingly delicious. This spot was cute and not too crowded, which was nice. I was able to easily get a table by the window with an outlet to do my work and enjoy the little bit of sunshine peeking through the clouds. The WiFi was broken though which was very disappointing as I'd come here to get work done between appointments and had to hotspot from my phone. The staff were friendly though and the chai was way better than I had anticipated. I think I'd come back as long as they fixed the WiFi or if I was just stopping in for a drink. read more

Good, friendly coffee shop with a neighborhood feel. There is upstairs seating that helps add to the capacity. The staff was friendly. They serve French Press only, which is a little bit odd; personally, I prefer batch drip coffee. However, the French Press was good for what it was. Unfortunately, like most of the coffee shops I experienced in Seattle, they did not have homemade simple syrup out at the condiment bar so I used little packets of sugar instead. A tall americano was a bit more spendy than usual (over $5) and was ok.. didn't find it had much flavor but other latte drinks people left with looked so good, so may try that next time I'm in the neighborhood. This is my favorite cafe for getting work done in seattle. It's pretty quiet and there is a downstairs and upstairs. It's not overwhelming, overstimulating, hot, and loud like I've found many cafes. I'd say it's somewhat of a hidden gem but I secretly hope it stays that way. However, it can be busy so beware of peak hours. The coffee and cold brew is AMAZING! Pastries are also really good. Everyone I've brought here has loved it. I wouldn't come here to just hang out, bc like another person said there are a lot of colder tones so not a super warm ambience. But I find this better for doing work. It's also not too hard to find parking, when it's peak times you can find parking on a residential street close by. read more

I love getting coffee here on the weekend with my partner, they make really good coffee drinks and the baristas are always really nice and helpful. They have pre-made burritos from HH Market Goods that are really tasty and fair priced. The shop itself has a cute cozy seating area upstairs with a Chihuly chandelier that is to die for. Cute shop, $20 buck for two espressos with flavor and a scone. Parking is extremely limited so we quickly illegally parked across the street in the law firm lot and jay walked to the shop. Shhhh! Order taker person wasn't super friendly and neither was the barista but it's all good because coffee was presented cutely to make up for it. The bar where you add all the little extras could have been cleaner IMO. Food and drink spilt along side of trash cans and this isn't a hour or two. This is a dried up mess, just saying. Found another cute cafe! I came here after my doctor's appt. and I must say with everyone who has also stated it, the outside part of the cafe looks ordinary. You don't think much of it until you walk inside :D It's two stories with a Chihuly piece upstairs hanging in the middle. I came at a good time when it wasn't too crowded around to find a place to sit and do some work. Apparently they have some artists or art shows every now and then because the walls are filled with ordinary beautiful canvas art. The squash bread was big and filling here! It was absolutely my favorite. The lemon square was okay. Had a breve which was pretty good. I will come back! Lots of street parking available -- although I parked behind the small lot. They said I couldn't park there but as long as it says the hours 'customer parking 8am-5pm,' you shouldn't have a problem or worry about your car being towed away. I went a little out of my comfort zone and chose the rose flavor from their myriad of flavor choices and got a rose hemp milk latte. This is one legit house of caffeination! We dropped in for a meeting on a Sunday morning and found the place we will be coming anytime we find ourselves over here in similar circumstances. The lower level is nice, open and has plenty of natural light and outlets if you prefer the light of your computer screen. Upstairs there is plenty of additional seating as well as a very nice blue glass ornamental piece that graces an open area up to the second level. It's very nice to look at! While we were there we saw plenty of folks bunking up for a few hours study session or a nice Sunday morning chat with a friend. The coffee options here are plentiful. There's nothing super exotic, but they have everything that you would expect. The pastries are lovely, including a very nice squash bread that we tried. It was about half a loaf that we got and it was delicious! We also got some sugar cookies to go that were a big hit when I got home. We appreciated the pink elephants as well as the multi colored circle cookies. Plenty of other card loaded options were present including some nice looking croissants and muffins. They also had a good number of sandwiches and other ancillary beverages for purchase.
