I've been meaning to check out Mr. Wingz for a while when he was in the cloud kitchen. I'm glad the brick and mortar was finally opened in a great location in Overland Park. You order through the touch screen and you are greeted when you enter. They explain the sauces and items and get to making your order as it is entered. It was cool to see a promotional discount as I went to checkout. The food is brought to your table and it is all fresh and hot! You can tell it truly is freshly made real chicken. Every bite has meat to it and the sauces don't overwhelm the meat. My suya wings were so good. The chicken sandwich was also great along with the fries which were seasoned perfectly. I really enjoyed the signature sauce as well. Its different than other chicken restaurants. I wish there was a little bit more decor for ambiance but the food is really good. This is a brand new chicken spot in Overland Park Kansas, I don't think there are really any local chicken Wing places that are local in this area. What I like about it is that it is family owned. I started off with their suja chicken wings, they had nice flavor. It was a dry rub. The chicken wings were nice and tender, the only thing I didn't like was the onions on top. They were raw, they could've caramelized them to make them look better but they were just there. I tried all three flavors of their chicken sandwiches and they were all very tender and juicy. The original had nothing special to it. The buffalo chicken sandwich teeter on the verge of being too salty but that is the case for most Buffalo chicken flavored anything. My favorite was the slaw-ppy chicken sandwich. I am never really a fan of coleslaw but whatever sauce they used had great flavor. I loved their French fries, they were seasoned to perfection. I might be biased but I think that every chicken restaurant has great French fries. The only thing I didn't care for was their macaroni and cheese. It looked like the kraft kind from the blue box. They had one with bacon but I don't think there was anything special to it. Also all the meals were served with corn and I don't like corn, plus it's was very random because to me it doesn't go, but if you are a corn lover you are in for a treat. Will I come back? Of 12 different choices, l picked Signature Seasoning without any sause to sample their base wing without any added flavor. My 2nd choice was Garlic Parmesan. The wings were very good size, seeming 30+% larger than from most other places. They also were without breading. The Signature Seasoning wings were very tasteful, cooked perfectly & a joy to eat. The Garlic Parmesan wings were the same as the Signature Seasoning wings plus the added flavors. They also had a great taste & were very good. They have other products, but it's clear they know how to do wings well. It was a good change of pace from the regular type of deep fryed battered wings. Enjoyed the wings! Wings were cooked well, not a hard fry but not undercooked. Garlic parm was good, you can taste it's the jarred garlic not saying that's bad but you can taste the acid in it that preserves the garlic. Lemon pepper didn't have a ton of seasoning on them which was kinda strange. Overall the wings themselves were good if I went back I'd get some different flavors. Fries were solid too. One other annoyance, there were no napkins on the tables (no napkins in a wings joint????) Portions were generous, pricing was reasonable and service was polite. As for ambiance: there is none. The wings are standard flats and drums size wise. Not tiny but not big either. They're tasty. The fries are tasty too. The wings and fries weren't crispy. The jerk wings are not spicy but sweet. They're sauced. Not traditional jerk. Well seasoned wings but Wings Cafe and a good Twin Peaks location's wings beat these easily for reference. The ranch is standard as well. What isn't clear from this listing at all is that this is purely a to go food spot with several to go eateries under one roof. I called my order in, spoke to some dude and I wasn't told that it would be far more efficient and timely to order online or through a delivery service. Don't call your order in. If you're craving standard wings and you want some then order online and go get some. You want something that a wings guy would recommend than I'd go elsewhere. Her son, "Fizzy," explained that the family spends hours/days developing and testing all new flavors. This certainly shoes on the product: a tender, flavorful wing with perfect texture and flavor. I live not far from here and finally got a chance to go try this new spot. Since it was lunch time and I had things I was trying to finish up, I ordered online. I arrived and a woman (owner or manager I think) greeted me when I came in. The space is sparse but stylish and very clean. You order at kiosks at the counter. But that said, the woman was extremely friendly and chatted with me. At a certain point it was taking a bit for my food to come out and she offered me a brownie as an apology - I was happy to accept! Anyway, food was ready within about 10 mins of my arrival and I brought it home. I got the 3 pc chicken tender meal. I was a little worried about the portion because 3 tenders is often not enough but these are very generous tenders so I had leftovers. The chicken and the fries were delicious. I really liked the Yo! sauce that came with it. I wasn't as fond of the coleslaw but I'm not a big coleslaw person so I won't knock off for that, especially with such exceptionally friendly service in a more contact free environment. These are good if you like some thing that's a little spicy, but not too spicy. The flavor was amazing. I highly recommend this flavor. I also tried the Thai chili wings and the fried shrimp. Both were super good and flavorful. The mac & cheese is a must , it has bacon on it and is super cheesy. The corn is also a great side to try out and is super flavorful.
