He has an open line of communication, is clear with the whole process and even took our feedback and applied it to our event (my now husband just asked for a few things and he changed it for him). Mr. Worldwide catered my wedding on October 11, 2025, and I truly couldn't have asked for a better experience. I first met him at the Loft 84 bridal show, where I immediately fell in love with the food. He hosted a food tasting at my house, which made the experience feel so personal and special. It was such a fun experience, and it made us even more excited for our big day! He was also very charismatic and such a nice man, which made the entire process even more enjoyable. From start to finish, they were incredibly easy to work with, always kind, and so accommodating to our needs. The food was beyond delicious--every dish was a hit with our guests! If I could give NEGATIVE stars I would. Jose is so unprofessional and uncaring. We booked him months in advance and we were all set to have him cater our wedding on Oct. 2nd. We last spoke on Sept. 24th regarding our final guest count, Jose stated he would be sending over our invoice for payment. Early Monday morning at 5am, just 2 days later, I received a notification from Venmo stating Jose had refunded my deposit and canceled the payment request. I did not receive a phone call, a text message, or even an email from Jose. He literally cancelled and didn't even have the courtesy to call and let us know. Keep in mind this is 5 days before our big day. I buried my grandfather today and had to deal not only with his loss but with this situation as well. We had to call Jose 3 different times, texted him twice before Jose finally responded BY TEXT. I received no apology ( not that I expect one from someone like Jose) he made no effort to try and help us problem solve, no recommendations, no anything. And I will be posting the receipts. He's not even worth my energy and all I have to say is karma will take care of everything. If I were you I would not trust him with your special day, he is not reliable or trustworthy. He instantly blocked my account on all social media platforms and even Venmo ( talk about sketchy, wants to make sure no one finds out what he did) ! While calling many other caterers in the area we informed them of what Mr. World Wide did and I'm sure they will not hesitate to warn others about his unprofessionalism. My husband and I had Jose and his team at Mr. WorldWide cater our Rehearsal dinner for 50 and Wedding Reception dinner for 150 on March 30, 2024. The rehearsal dinner was a fajita buffet and the reception dinner was a plated bbq dinner. Both were absolutely delicious and he and his team were both professional as well as personable. At something like a wedding, it's important that everyone involved has a great attitude and adds to the day, and Jose did this and beyond. Jose also personally ensured that Don and I had everything we needed. Because we were busy taking photos during the cocktail hour, we missed the passed bites, but Jose made sure to bring some over to us once we sat down for dinner. He also checked in with us multiple times while we were eating to see if we needed anything else. And lastly, and perhaps most importantly, the food was DELICIOUS. Don't think twice and hire Mr. Worldwide! Jose and his team are amazing! He actively communicated with us from day one and made us feel comfortable and at ease. He traveled almost 2 hours in traffic just to meet with us for a tasting and answer any questions. My husband explained our vision to Jose, and he delivered way more than we ever dreamed of. In the middle of the wedding chaos Jose made sure my husband and I got to taste the appetizers that disappeared in minutes, he even came over and handed us our first drink of the night, he brought us a well-served plate of food to our table, the table set up matched our decor. Jose is very responsive and has great service, along with him being a great chef of course! He traveled to my parents house for us to do a tasting for our wedding and we were blown away. It was amazing. We got so many compliments from our friends and family about how good the food was. With that being said I have a couple nitpicky complaints for constructive feedback: The plates and silverware were not what we had originally discussed at the tasting. They were supposed to be the nice plastic that looked real and we got clear which looked cheesy to us. It could have had to do with the fact that we did the tasting about a year in advance and things could have been forgotten or overlooked but the change was never communicated to us. Also, my husband requested to have a spicy BBQ sauce during our tasting and the BBQ sauce was on the side at that time. We discussed having spicy and mild options. I was very excited for the pulled pork at the wedding but it had spicy BBQ sauce all over it! I thought it was going to be on the side, like it was during the tasting. It was so spicy that I couldn't even eat it. :( One of our aunts was not able to eat any of the meat because it was "too peppery" but that was the only other complaint that we got. If you are looking for a caterer, stop right here and hire this man. José catered our backyard wedding for 60 guests and it was beyond perfect. From start to finish he was professional, courteous, and kind. He listened to our vision and worked with us to create a perfect menu that also fit our budget. He responded quickly to emails with answers to all of the questions we had during the weeks leading up to the wedding. José is so thoughtful in his profession - he emailed us asking for our wedding colors so he could add his own flower arrangements to his buffet tables. When I sent him pictures of our gold charger plates, he suggested a very nice plastic disposable plate that had the same gold lining on it. We had my sister make the cake for us, but we forgot to get cake plates. José was prepared with extra dessert plates and jumped right in to fill that need. Thank you José! We had his Santa Maria tri-tip, pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, baked beans, Texas caviar, crudité platter of fruits and vegetables, and a dessert bar of assorted cheesecakes. The food was buffet style with a beautiful set up. Pretty much all of our guests went back for seconds. We received comments throughout the night on how delicious the food was. José even hand-delivered two plates of food to us, the bride and groom. I ate as much as I could!! I had an amazing dinner on my wedding night. How perfect is that? Because this was a backyard wedding, Jose's crew worked in our home kitchen. We were very comfortable with his crew being in our home. There were all professional, courteous, and dressed professionally. They worked quickly and you hardly noticed them, but every detail was attended to. I hired Chef Jose and Mr. Worldwide Catering for my wedding on May 18, 2014 -- I was the groom -- and we are still getting rave reviews from the nearly 200 guests we had in attendance. Ours was a rustic wedding, at an equestrian center, and we were looking for someone who could do BBQ. We were kind of late in our food search (we didn't start calling caterers until about 60 to 90 days in advance of the big day) but Jose got back to is with a quote that for right into our budget. I was a bit worried at first, as this seemed too easy and too good a match, too good to be true, so we scheduled a tasting. Chef Jose had told me his BBQ was Santa Maria style, which I had had a couple of times -- rare to find in the Los Angeles area -- but it had been a long time. Chef Jose met me at the venue to get the lay of the land, and bring a sample of his tri-tip and a baked chicken. Right after I bit into the tri-tip I was ready to sign on the dotted line. I had to bring some of the samples to my intended, but I was sold on his professionalism, humility and the food, of course. After the fiancée tasted everything, we did actually sign on the dotted line later that night. In the weeks that followed, we made a few requests, related to seasoning and sauce, all of which Jose received without any ego or insult. Honestly, I do a ton of cooking and if someone came and told me to add or subtract some seasonings from one of my signature dished, that I've been making for 20 years, I would be at least a little miffed, and at least talk badly about them after the end of the meal :-) Anyway, Jose received our requests well and delivered on the day of the event. So, anyone reading this probably is asking "Everything was 100% perfect? How often does that happen in life?" So here is the one area that I was disappointed with. Unfortunately we were so busy being the bride and groom that we only got to eat about 6 forkfuls of food. Crap. Literally everyone is calling us to congratulate, telling is how good the cornbread was, how the BBQ sauce was the best they ever had, how there was a spicy and a mild sauce. My grandmother told me the potatoes were perfectly tender and not difficult for her tender teeth to chew. So yes, we are disappointed we didn't get a chance to feast ourselves -- Chef Jose did hand-deliver a plate of fresh, hot chicken to us at the sweetheart table, we just didn't get a chance to eat it -- and now our mission is to get some of our friends to book Mr. Worldwide, so we can sit in the background and grub. read more
