They offered plenty of different versions for your need. She asked for my weight and recommended a transport wheelchair. I needed it for the weekend but the shortest rental was one week. Cost $35. To reserve, I must pay over the phone but no obligation if you decide to cancel, you'll get a refund. I came the next day, liked what I saw. It was compact, easily stored in a back of a trunk and the foot rest comes off. The wheelchair width and size was perfect, we stood in many lines and it was slim enough to fit through. The only cons, was that you get what you pay for. I would recommend to upgrade to the next level and get the heavy duty to get stronger wheels. One of the wheels was acting up and kept flickering out of alignment which made it harder to push and annoying. The material also felt cheap. I'm glad the chair withstand the heavy handling of airport personnel. I was happy with the wheelchair service that we came back a week later to rent 2 for my aunt and uncle for a family trip.

I was so overwhelmed that I asked someone for a recommendation to anywhere that wasn't what I tried. They recommended ABT and I decided to give it a shot. From the very moment I sent a referral I new things were different. I got a response immediately. I got feedback quickly on what documentation was needed. I was told concisely what would be delivered based on the insurance. I've even been made aware of what providers can assist if ABT could not. I've worked very closely with Noris who is an absolute angel on earth. Every time I need to call I get a response quickly -- I've waited for 4 hours on hold at other DME companies only to have the phone hang up on me. Don't trust these negative reviews. For those in the know, ABT goes above and beyond. I NEVER make Yelp reviews, but I just cannot hold in my complete satisfaction with ABT and with Noris especially. The world of healthcare equipment, insurance, and medical needs is never a straight-forward or easy one, but ABT sure does their best to make it easy. And best of all: they get those deliveries out SO fast. I'm always shocked when I ask about a delivery and am informed that it's already been delivered. My only regret is that I didn't use ABT sooner. I went through some real losers before I found the one! ABT !!

I would avoid Apria Hospice. My experience with them was extremely disappointing and added…read moresignificant stress during an already difficult time. Rather than providing comfort and support, I found their care to be poorly coordinated, inadequately individualized, and at times clinically inappropriate. My sister had a complex medical history that included recurrent syncopal (fainting) episodes. Unfortunately, hospice staff repeatedly interpreted these episodes as signs that she was actively dying or "transitioning" without adequately reviewing her medical history or understanding her underlying condition. After one such episode, I received a call from a hospice representative through an out-of-state call center recommending that morphine be started immediately. There was no apparent clinical indication for morphine at that time, and the caller was unable to explain the rationale for the recommendation or answer basic questions. This was both unsettling and concerning. On another occasion, a hospice nurse recommended oral antibiotics for a suspected aspiration-related infection. At the time, my sister was unresponsive and not eating or drinking, making oral administration impractical. Concerned about the recommendation, I had her evaluated in the Emergency Department. No infection was found, no antibiotics were indicated, and her symptoms were ultimately attributed to another syncopal episode from which she later recovered. I was also told that all of my sister's oral medications should be discontinued, despite the fact that she was still taking medications orally and there was no clear clinical reason to stop them. This recommendation created unnecessary anxiety and confusion. The hospice chaplain's conduct was also unprofessional. Facility staff ultimately asked him not to return after he put his feet on a table and requested flowers that were being used for a resident activity. Several nurses at the care facility privately expressed concerns about the quality of hospice care they were observing and recommended that I consider changing hospice providers. By that point, my sister's condition had become increasingly unstable, and I felt that changing providers would only add more stress. She passed away later that week. What was perhaps most disappointing was the lack of follow-up after her death. Her primary hospice nurse never contacted me to offer condolences, answer questions, or provide support. As an advanced practice healthcare provider, I recognized a number of concerning issues that may not be apparent to families without medical training. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hospice organization.

I had to have some oxygen equipment swapped out today. My home unit quit working. And I was having…read moreissues with my portable unit. I made a call to Kadence Healthcare. They got on it immediately and had a technician scheduled for my swap out! The tech called me with an ETA of a little over an hour. I live 60 miles east of San Diego, so of course I expected it would be awhile. The young man, Luke was the technician. Luke has been to my home before to set up equipment for me and he remembered who I was. That is something that us older folks appreciate. It makes us feel like we have made a positive impact on the younger generation. Luke brought me a brand new machine. He was sure that I would be pleased with my new equipment. He wasnt wrong either! My new machine is whisper quiet. I do love it. He was very helpful in explaining the new equipment to me and also on the use and care of the equipment. I have had other technicians out in the past, but none were as helpful as Luke has been.
