There was some kind of gutter work going on in this part of the street so parking was limited. Unfortunately, when we came by for ice cream next door on our first day in Louisville the candy shop was already closed for the day. The shop is a small, family-owned business operating since 1921. Inside are displays of handmade candies, delectable treats like Old Fashion Kentucky Bourbons and Muth's Modjeskas as well as unique novelty treats like horseshoe shaped chocolates. I was the first customer and I already knew what I wanted. The chocolates were already pre-packaged, I chose a bag each of the milk peanut clusters and milk chocolate raisin clusters... they were fresh and so delicious! The storefront is the cutest with pink motif colors... pink awning, pink doors, pink signage. Inside is nostalgic. They have pre-packaged candy as well as candy by the pound. Mix & match chocolates from the Sugar Bar and choose from a large or small candy cup. I chose the small candy cup for $10 and had it filled with milk chocolate peanuts and milk chocolate raisins. Macarons are a signature -- definitely check out the large case of many flavors. And it boasts a case of so many chocolatey treats. I ended up getting some chocolate dipped Oreos, sprinkled in edible glitter, for my kids, who went nuts over them. (I maybe snuck a bite too!)
