Cool shop with some good small batch bourbon infused chocolates. I purchased some to bring back to my friends.

A small quaint shop on 4th street- This place has all the Bourbon infused chocolates you need! (And non-infused too if that's not what you're in to..) Extremely delicious small batch truffles. Very friendly service, answered my questions. Gave me an ice pack to make sure my chocolates didn't melt in the 90 degree heat :-)

Absolutely delicious! I feel giddy and 10x fancier for having visited the pop up shop in Plainview. If you love bourbon, chocolate and sugar you will want one of everything - but this means you can visit over and over to try new things. We settled on bourbon truffles, 3 types. Packages start with 4 pcs and an empty bourbon bottle is displayed to help guide you. One box featured the bourbon trail bourbons, which would be a great gift. I also couldn't resist the chocolate dipped orange slices. Mosjeskas are available (look it up if you aren't familiar, Kentucky tradition). Chocolates to eat alongside your bourbon are popular, to let melt in your mouth. I spotted dipped espresso beans, salted caramels and other wonderful-ness. The store also offers many sugar treats with kids in mind but I'm a sucker for those too! Yes, I bought the gummy double cherries and lollipops. Look for rock candy, chocolate dipped Rice Krispies and various gummies. These items are nut free. Everything in the pop up is featured downtown at their main shop and their offerings make it perfect for adults, kids, gifts and splurges. Support this local family!

Such a great store if you need a nice gift or wanna splurge on delicious candy for yourself! They offer truffles made from dozens of Kentucky bourbons, some even have the bourbon logo on them in chocolate which was gorgeous (loved the Bulleit logo!). Aside from bourbon candies, they offered chocolate sunflower seed and cherry bark (it was delicious), chocolate dipped Oreos which are beautifully done, jumbo dipped marshmallows, chocolate horse molds, "chocolate pizza," chocolate lizards, etc. They offer all varieties of chocolate in every product as well; milk, white, and dark. Aside from food, this store also has bourbon themed gifts such as glassware, pins, t-shirts, etc. Overall very fun and intriguing place. The reason for 4 stars is because I personally love candy with nuts and bourbon balls with traditional nut on top, but Art Eatables is a 100% nut-free zone (which is understandable for liability reasons). Will definitely be back to purchase gifts.

As Art Eatables sells their chocolates at most of the bourbon distilleries, it was great to go to the source and be able to compare them. The wonderful smell of chocolate hits you as soon as you walk into the store! Went there twice this trip, and both assistants were very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their products. It was nice to have a sample and taste that delectable combination of chocolate and bourbon! Got a couple of small sample boxes as omiyage, and a sampler box for myself. Military discount, that was nice! Will definitely repeat when my travels bring me back to Louisville and two thumbs up to recommend!

Just one of the boxes I brought home.

You have to seek this place out! The most fabulous chocolate ever. I mean EVER. I learned of it at a tasting of Angels Envy bourbon at their distillery. It was an orange cream with Angels Envy in it. Never in my life have I enjoyed an orange cream chocolate...those are for spitting out. But this one made my eyes roll back in my head it was so good. They explained the chocolates were hand made for them at Art Eatables and where the shop is located. So of course I had to try and get some. The shop make liquor chocolates for 14 distilleries.. And they had just opened a new shop and gotten behind, so there was slim pickings. I couldn't get the beloved orange creams but I got mints and coconut and some Markers Mark as a gift for a friend. Each one was better than the last. Well...they have been voted the #1 chocolate in Kentucky, and it's well earned. If you're a chocolate lover be sure and get some of these. You'll be glad you did. They're worth a trip to Louisville all by themselves.

I love chocolate and I love bourbon, combine those together and you get art edibles. I love, love, love this place. They take bourbon and make it into chocolate truffles. Pure genius. I bought one 8 set sampler for the hubby. He was leery at first, but was in love with first bite. When he ran out, he was trying to think of reasons to go to Fourth Street to pick up more. Finally, I was in over by 4th Street so I picked him up a 12 pack sampler. You would have thought I just gave him a diamond or a new set of tools. He was so excited. I can see a trip to Louisville Every couple weeks.

It was no shock to see nearly all five star reviews for Art Eatables. It's a wonderful place that offers unique sweets to locals and tourists. I live just a street down from here and decided to finally walk in the shop during my walk. I had imagined it to be a little bit bigger; it is a very tiny store, however this does not stop their large inventory of chocolate goodness! The man working in the store was very sweet, asking what brought me into the store and offered to help me out. I was overwhelmed with all of my options...I wanted to try one of everything!! I laid my eyes on a dark chocolate dipped oreo and couldn't resist. I am a huge fan of truffles, so seeing nearly an entire wall dedicated to them was just glorious. Many were filled with moonshine as well, also being a moonshine lover I bought a box of the pink lemonade moonshine truffles. Everything I purchased was fantastic. The moonshine truffles had a rich, fruity moonshine taste, and paired well with its outer chocolate shell. I have nothing bad to say about this place...I'm already planning to bring an out of town friend here to try some more goodies!

These guys are just great. So great. I have had the pleasure of trying several of their offereings at various events I have been able to attend. I finally got the chance to visit their store (I really have no excuse, they are right behind my office...) a couple times in the last couple months. The highlights: Free truffle with your Yelp check-in! Hot cider on a cold day as you peruse the goods. The absolute nicest people! And the chocolate....it is gooooooood! Delicious chocolates made with some of the various local bourbons, tasty caramel chocolates, and cute, tasty, and clever seasonal goods! If you are looking for a gift for someone or are having a treat-yo-self indulgence, I would recommend stopping in at Art Eatables! You will probably find something (many things) you want!

Old Fashioned cherries @ Old Forester Speakeasy
    Leslie W.

What can I say? If I had the chance (and wouldn't embarrass myself too much), I'd hijack their table at every event. I've not had their fine goods from the brick and mortar store, but have had them many, many times all around town as desserts or party favors at various functions most recently the Frazier Museum's Old Forester Speakeasy. The bourbon truffles, goodness sakes! So richly decadent, yet so smooth. Not too sweet, just perfect. Their new, Old Fashioned cherries were a sublime bite to go with my Old Forester Old Fashioned last week. The bourbon, orange, an white chocolate around a stemmed cherry, magical. So phenomenal in fact that I had to have a couple more to finish off my cocktail! Beautiful confections made with love and local products, how can you go wrong? Go in and buy some for presents, for dinner parties, and a few to hide in your desk drawer to stress eat at work. It's all good.

The American breakfast had large potato pieces, good sausage, and made to order eggs. Hot coffee was on the better side for hotel coffee. Dinner: they were super accommodating, as we were traveling with a friend with an infant. I called ahead to let them know we would come in with a stroller, and they made sure to sit us in an area where the stroller was not in the way of servers or other guests. Our server was one of the most attentive people I have ever met, and every recommendation they gave was fantastic. We started with the oyster rockefellar and the spicy tuna tartare. The oysters were massive and the tuna dish was so good, we got it a second time later in the weekend. We all got steaks for our mains and added a lobster tail - there was a mix up with the lobster tail taking a bit and they ended up bringing out the largest lobster tail to make up for it. All steaks, their sides, and sauces were fantastic- better than most I have had in the DC area. The food was all rich so under order or share amongst friends. Cocktails were of course fantastic, from espresso martinis to the famous smoked old fashions. We had drinks at the bar another night and the service was just as good, though they did tell us that they didn't serve the drink in a smoke box when we certainly had one just a night before.

They offer valet parking for $14, but street parking was easy to find and just a short walk away. We started with the Caesar salad and the wedge salad. Both were good, although the wedge had a bit too much dressing for my taste. I ordered the filet with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms. The filet was excellent, and while I'm not usually a mushroom person, these were truly outstanding. The bread was also some of the best I've ever had. I also ordered one of the mocktails, which I enjoyed because it wasn't overly sweet. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. Our waiter was efficient, but he wasn't particularly friendly, and the entire meal felt rushed. Several times, someone tried to clear my plate while I was still eating. We also had to ask for more time more than once before ordering because we felt pressured to make decisions quickly. With a bill of over $300, I expected a more relaxed dining experience where we could enjoy the evening at our own pace.

It could just be mediocre pub food, but the food here is very, very good. I don't know why, but when I'm in the south, I get the hankering for a deviled egg. So we started with the deviled eggs (Los Huevos El Diablo), which, despite the name, were not super spicy. They had just the right amount of spice. One thing to know about me is: If I see a patty melt on the menu, I will order that. So I got the Merle's Melt, which is a burger patty with cheddar and Monterey jack cheese, plus bacon and special sauce on buttered toast. It was sublimely tasty! It comes with house-made chips, which were good. They also offer tacos on the menu. One of my children got one steak taco and one chicken taco. The tacos are topped with tomato, lettuce and cojita cheese. I was told that these were very good! My kid eats like a bird, but ate one and a half tacos, so that must say something, right? The Lip Smack'n Mac & Cheese was also ordered, as well as the fried chicken, because the menu says that the fried chicken is award-winning, so how could we not? The fried chicken was super crispy and tasty, and the mac and cheese was creamy and made with large shells, which is the best kind of pasta to use for mac and cheese (in my opinion). The service was great, the lighting was great, and we were seated quickly, even though they seemed busy. It was a good place to have a family dinner in Louisville.

My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I spent most of the afternoon on a bourbon tour and a post-tour distillery so...food was needed. And quickly. In our mild defense, we didn't really know how the day was going to go or when we were actually going to have dinner, which made it a little tougher to pre-plan, but no research went into this at all and we paid for it. We wrapped up our bourbon adventures at the Angel's Envy distillery probably five or six blocks from here. Instead of being grownups and doing at least a quick/impromptu recon for spots, we literally just walked outside and down W Main St until we hit something. And we hit this, which was right on the edge of the main tourist area, pretty much Louisville's equivalent of the Times Square/MSG area. And as someone who works and used to live in NYC, you'd have to do a lot of convincing to get me to eat in that particular area - it's overpriced and the food/service just tends to not be very good, which makes you wonder what the appeal is for tourists beyond the convenience. But regardless, it's always struck me as an odd way for a tourism spot to put its best foot forward (or not). Doc Crow's is enormous, and when we were brought further into the restaurant to our table, I think we literally walked through three or four large rooms and navigated through multiple passageways. If you told me this place took up an entire city block or close to it, I'd believe you. Beyond the size/scope, there's nothing really distinctive that separates it from the myriad of other restaurants you'd expect to see catering to out-of-towners. It was the Friday evening of Memorial Day Weekend, so a place that I suspect is usually pretty busy was even busier and louder than that. Maybe not the greatest recipe after a bourbon tour, but who can say. On the app front, we got the Crispy Salmon Bites, which were fine. Not an item I typically see on a menu, even one with more of a seafood bent. I thought the cornmeal/panko breading was the right call; I'm a big catfish aficionado, so I'm of the opinion that cornmeal is underutilized, at least in the Northeast where I come from. Otherwise, nothing really mind-blowing there; probably would have made sense for it to be a different type of fish given the prep (I think salmon is best raw in a sushi roll or grilled), but it could have been worse. I don't think a ton of thought went into this on my end, but I went with the full rack BBQ ribs, along with a side of mac n' cheese. Again, okay, though not as flavorful as I would have hoped and I thought the ribs were on the dry side. Not their fault, but I always regret getting the full rack in hindsight because ribs have a deceptively significant amount of meat on the bones and a half rack is a very decent portion by itself; I am a work in progress just like everyone else. The mac n' cheese was also pretty dry, which I think you can see pretty obviously in the accompanying picture. Tasted and felt reheated at least once or twice. The service was pretty efficient given how busy it was, but our waiter was just on robotic autopilot. Not remotely personable and everything I said to him was responded to with, "For sure, for sure." Maybe he was having a rough night to start the holiday weekend, but it felt like he was just going through the motions and just checking off some boxes there. I went into this already predisposed to not like the generic tourist trap places, so grain of salt. But my recommendation if you have the time/bandwidth (now that I'm a cagey Louisville vet) is to bypass this area if you can and find something tastier and more interesting in the Highlands neighborhood. That's where the real ones are.
