We did the Valentine's Day chocolate and bourbon tasting / pairing this year and the chocolates are SO good. Literally everything I've eaten there was delicious. However I felt like our pairing / tasting was rushed, the chocolatier was busy talking to another couple doing a pairing, which is fine, but we could've waited and got the full experience. We basically tasted and paired things ourselves. The bar is super small and kind of rickety. It was difficult to get comfortable. read more

Awesome little store with really good chocolates, gifts and bourbon tastings. Great gift for a bourbon lover with a favorite brand. I did the chocolate + bourbon pairing, which was about $12 for four 1/4oz pours and four chocolates. Three of the bourbons are preselected and you pick the fourth. No rare bottles, but can try most of the common brand offerings to get a good comparison with little commitment. Candy, the bourbon concierge was so nice. Minus one star for ridiculous policy/rule of one tasting per day. I had a friend who unexpectedly wanted to meet me, so had to watch her as she did her tasting. I wasn't even allowed to do another chocolate (only) tasting with her. Would love to see this policy revisited for people who are obviously sober, The chocolate I brought home to my wife was eaten that evening by her and her friends, and they all said the chocolates were really, really good. I have been buying the bourbon truffles for years although not too often because of the price and I don't get to the shop much. We were treated to a couple of chocolates from Art Eatables while on a tour at Angel's Envy. They were luscious and so creamy and chocolatey. We sampled a white chocolate, beautifully molded in the shape of angel wings, that was really good for white chocolate - not usually my favorite. But this was smooth, quite sweet but not as saccharine as other white chocolates I've had, and satisfying. The other chocolate we had was one of their orange "chimères," which is apparently an original concept. It was insanely smooth and although I'm not usually an orange + chocolate person, it worked pretty nicely and I very much enjoyed it. Would love to visit an actual shop some time in the future and try out some other confections. Beautiful, creative, and tasty stuff! read more

Absolutely delicious! I feel giddy and 10x fancier for having visited the pop up shop in Plainview. If you love bourbon, chocolate and sugar you will want one of everything - but this means you can visit over and over to try new things. We settled on bourbon truffles, 3 types. Packages start with 4 pcs and an empty bourbon bottle is displayed to help guide you. One box featured the bourbon trail bourbons, which would be a great gift. I also couldn't resist the chocolate dipped orange slices. Mosjeskas are available (look it up if you aren't familiar, Kentucky tradition). Chocolates to eat alongside your bourbon are popular, to let melt in your mouth. I spotted dipped espresso beans, salted caramels and other wonderful-ness. The store also offers many sugar treats with kids in mind but I'm a sucker for those too! Yes, I bought the gummy double cherries and lollipops. Look for rock candy, chocolate dipped Rice Krispies and various gummies. These items are nut free. Everything in the pop up is featured downtown at their main shop and their offerings make it perfect for adults, kids, gifts and splurges. Support this local family! read more

Such a great store if you need a nice gift or wanna splurge on delicious candy for yourself! They offer truffles made from dozens of Kentucky bourbons, some even have the bourbon logo on them in chocolate which was gorgeous (loved the Bulleit logo!). Aside from bourbon candies, they offered chocolate sunflower seed and cherry bark (it was delicious), chocolate dipped Oreos which are beautifully done, jumbo dipped marshmallows, chocolate horse molds, "chocolate pizza," chocolate lizards, etc. They offer all varieties of chocolate in every product as well; milk, white, and dark. Aside from food, this store also has bourbon themed gifts such as glassware, pins, t-shirts, etc. Overall very fun and intriguing place. The reason for 4 stars is because I personally love candy with nuts and bourbon balls with traditional nut on top, but Art Eatables is a 100% nut-free zone (which is understandable for liability reasons). As Art Eatables sells their chocolates at most of the bourbon distilleries, it was great to go to the source and be able to compare them. The wonderful smell of chocolate hits you as soon as you walk into the store! Went there twice this trip, and both assistants were very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their products. It was nice to have a sample and taste that delectable combination of chocolate and bourbon! Got a couple of small sample boxes as omiyage, and a sampler box for myself. You have to seek this place out! The most fabulous chocolate ever. I mean EVER. I learned of it at a tasting of Angels Envy bourbon at their distillery. It was an orange cream with Angels Envy in it. Never in my life have I enjoyed an orange cream chocolate...those are for spitting out. But this one made my eyes roll back in my head it was so good. They explained the chocolates were hand made for them at Art Eatables and where the shop is located. So of course I had to try and get some. The shop make liquor chocolates for 14 distilleries.. And they had just opened a new shop and gotten behind, so there was slim pickings. I couldn't get the beloved orange creams but I got mints and coconut and some Markers Mark as a gift for a friend. Each one was better than the last. Well...they have been voted the #1 chocolate in Kentucky, and it's well earned. If you're a chocolate lover be sure and get some of these. You'll be glad you did. On a trip to Louisville, some friends and I were strolling along downtown and stopped at this cute store. They have tons of Bourbon infused candies and spices. I bought the small batch Bourbon Truffles and they were amazing. I also got the Bourbon vanilla sugar and it was amazing in my morning oatmeal. No wonder they were rated as the best candy shop in Kentucky by Food Network magazine. The shop owner was very nice and they followed good Covid protocols (masks, only one party in at a time, sanitizer, etc.). I will definitely come back the next time I am in town. read more

I bought one 8 set sampler for the hubby. He was leery at first, but was in love with first bite. When he ran out, he was trying to think of reasons to go to Fourth Street to pick up more. It was no shock to see nearly all five star reviews for Art Eatables. It's a wonderful place that offers unique sweets to locals and tourists. I live just a street down from here and decided to finally walk in the shop during my walk. I had imagined it to be a little bit bigger; it is a very tiny store, however this does not stop their large inventory of chocolate goodness! The man working in the store was very sweet, asking what brought me into the store and offered to help me out. I was overwhelmed with all of my options...I wanted to try one of everything!! I laid my eyes on a dark chocolate dipped oreo and couldn't resist. I am a huge fan of truffles, so seeing nearly an entire wall dedicated to them was just glorious. Many were filled with moonshine as well, also being a moonshine lover I bought a box of the pink lemonade moonshine truffles. Everything I purchased was fantastic. The moonshine truffles had a rich, fruity moonshine taste, and paired well with its outer chocolate shell. Among them was the Devishly Good truffle...a mix of Devil's Cut Bourbon and dark chocolate...This is such an AMAZING truffle. My only regret is that I didn't buy more of this flavor. What can I say? If I had the chance (and wouldn't embarrass myself too much), I'd hijack their table at every event. I've not had their fine goods from the brick and mortar store, but have had them many, many times all around town as desserts or party favors at various functions most recently the Frazier Museum's Old Forester Speakeasy. The bourbon truffles, goodness sakes! So richly decadent, yet so smooth. Not too sweet, just perfect. Their new, Old Fashioned cherries were a sublime bite to go with my Old Forester Old Fashioned last week. The bourbon, orange, an white chocolate around a stemmed cherry, magical. So phenomenal in fact that I had to have a couple more to finish off my cocktail! Beautiful confections made with love and local products, how can you go wrong? I knew I'd be a fan as soon as the bourbon and chocolate hit my taste buds. You could definitely taste the bourbon -- and not just a boubon-y taste but the actual bourbon used in the candy. Each had different notes, and the sweetness tempered the bourbon a bit so it was refreshing, not harsh. And let's face it -- anything that combines two things as awesome as bourbon and chocolate can't be bad. I first discovered Art Eatables while strolling down Fourth Street and have loved them ever since. These chocolates are beautiful and chock full of Louisville pride. They are good for not only locals but for visitors to the Derby City as well -- a sweet reminder of our fair city. And Art Eatables doesn't just dabble in bourbon. I've also tried some of their cocktail chocolates, which are made with other types of alcohol, and their straight chocolate, which is also prime. The spiced caramel apple chocolate was a favorite from a recent trip. They have chocolates in the mold of mustaches and horses and horseshoes. At some point, I'd also like to try their chocolate covered pretzels in the shape of horseshoes and their specialty caramels. But really quick, back to the bourbon: They have so many different types that if you have a favorite bourbon, you're likely to find it in chocolate form here, from Jim Beam to Basil Hayden to Evan Williams to Woodford Reserve to many others. It's the best of bourbon in chocolate form! The prices are a bit up there. A four-pack of the bourbon chocolates is about $10, but once you see these chocolates you can tell they are like little pieces of art and definitely not slap-dashed together. I love this place. I would give more stars if I could. Its a small operation, they have 2 stores. ! on main st near the museums and 1 on 4th street near the place theater. The don't have bourbon balls. they have bourbon truffles made with just about any flavor of bourbon. This are so fabulous. They are 4 for $10.50 they also have large Varity packs has like 12 pieces and is $33 dollars. They are nut free . They also have vegan chocolate that is suppose to be good. They also have some other bourbon related food products and merchandise. the store on main st is a little larger but they both have he same great chocolates made by the only bourbon certified chocolatier. They also make the modjekas for Old Forrester. I just found that out. Great shop is a must have and try for locals and visitors alike. read more

Cool chocolate store in the heart of Louisville. The chocolatier is the first to be certified to pair chocolate with bourbon. We came to this place as recommended by the Angel's Envy bourbon tour guide. That's where they had some of the chocolates. The store is small but has a great selection of treats. They will answer any questions you have, give you so much information about the products, and they will even make specialty chocolates for you if you have a specific alcohol you would like used. I ordered from them online and was wowed by the product and the turnaround time. Granted, I only live in Nashville, shipping was incredibly quick. I placed my order a week in advance to plan to get them right before my boyfriend's birthday, and then I had them in my hands 2 days later! They're packaged beautifully! My boyfriend and I are both bourbon lovers and these chocolates are amazing, and taste true to the bourbon in them. They really highlight the flavors in the bourbons contained in them. I fully intend to make several more orders in the future and hope to visit the store on one of my trips to Louisville. You will not be disappointed with the product! The only downside is that UPS can be a bit violent with packages, so some of the medallions on top of the truffles chipped, but that's in no way, shape, or form the fault of Art Eatables. I loved this place what a cute little shop in Louisville. The prices are awesome and we were greeted with free truffles. The middle of this super cute store has all chocolate not laced with alcohol. That's where I bought the chocolate mustache for my daughter it is still in the refrigerator att he moment. There was also a free helping of apple cider hot apple cider the best I have tasted ever! In fact I am still California dreaming about it:) I really appreciated the owners down to earth approach. He was beyond grateful for our business and happy to explain everything in detail to us. A lot of the candy are laced with liquor which is the theme in Kentucky I noticed. Did I mention the owner was a game of thrones fan, so we gabbed about that as if we were besties it was awesome ! Visited when I was in Louisville. The chocolate is delicious. I decided to order some as a thanksgiving treat for friends in California. Placed the order, and paid for expedited delivery. They shipped it 7 days after the order was placed, 11/22 and did not get the 1-3 day shipping. It won't be delivered until 11/29. Not sure what took so long to package and ship. Needless to say, I'm a little disappointed. But the chocolate is delicious and I'm sure my friends will love them. read more

I had a friend of mine returned from KY with a box of eatables as a gift for me. They were so good that I promptly went online and ordered three different kinds. They were just delivered and it was three boxes of melted mess. I am so disappointed because of the cost and the shipping. Online it says they will add ice if over 80. This is the best chocolate I've ever eaten--and my in-laws live in Europe so I am gifted fine Belgium chocolates whenever they visit!!! With or without alcohol, it's melt in your mouth deliciousness :). Truffles (yay, get 1 free with Yelp check in!) have the absolute perfect blend of bourbon and chocolate--not too much of either so the bourbon is present without being overpowering. The orange chocolates I was fortunate enough to try at Angel's Envy are made without alcohol and come in several varieties including mint (perfect dinner party gift if you are unsure about bringing alcohol). And if you are local and know the goodness that is a modjeska, you'll find them here too. A perfect combination of chocolate, caramel and marshmallow. Yes, these chocolates are not cheap, but in my opinion it's better to indulge in 1 perfect piece of chocolate vs. a handful of lesser quality/less expensive ones. And, they now have 2 locations, the original in SoFo, and the newer, larger location on Museum Row. I can't wait to visit that. We first had one of Art Eatables' chocolates during our tasting at the Angel's Envy distillery, where their bourbon was paired with a lovely orange chimère, a smooth, luscious chocolate that pairs nicely with bourbon but it equally wonderful on its own. While the bourbon wasn't our favorite, we knew we had to hunt down the chocolates! Art Eatables has been featured in a number of food and travel magazines, and with good reason. They offer numerous chocolate and bourbon combinations covering a wide variety of distilleries, and they have an ingenious way of helping you decode what's inside the truffle - a chocolate token that helps you identify the brand. Best chocolate "truffles" in KY. If you are going to downtown Louisville, you have to check this place out. They make chocolate, bourbon into delicious artworks. I cannot tell you how many different bourbons they use, and how the chef comes up with the flavors that she does, but go test it out. Almost passed the jewel up. Went to lunch with a friend and he asked if I've ever been in here. I said I don't drink bourbon but walked in to look around. Pretty cool store. Had some neat glasses but what caught my attention and money was the CHOCOLATE. Spent $50+ on it. Once I found out they were peanut and tree nut free I went crazy. They have all kinds of chocolate.
