I used to have to pick up balloons a lot when I planned events, and I know the time suck that can come from someone slowly inflating several balloons. That was not the case at all here. They were friendly, and asked me questions about when my party was to determine if the balloons needed to have Hi-Float in them to last longer. I also got to peek at the rest of their selection. For not a huge space, it is chock full of party decorations, costumes and more. This is a great spot to go when in need of some extra party pizzazz!

Hearing of this special Halloween section me and my wife headed out to check out the shop. Wife and I are helping our daughter's eighth Grade class plan a haunted playground and we needed supplies and decorations for the haunted playground. The set ups and decorations they have here we're all very cool and different from other Louisville aria and Indiana area Halloween specialty shops. They had a very nice and large mask area that was really cool and has very unique and different Halloween mask for costumes. The store is medium size very well kept. The service on this trip was well they helped us find what we needed. Also I left with about 12 cans of silly string some carnival related decoration such as clown horns and other carnival props. Overall this is a really cool place and a fun place to browse and check out all the cool Halloween decorations, costumes, masks and supplies. Me and my family will likely make the short trip from Louisville to Jeffersonville Indiana for the future years to check out this place during Halloween season.

It's a series of dramatized immigrant stories and when I watched this episode, I saw that the founder had a shop in Louisville. Since I was visiting Louisville soon, I put this place on my list and felt like I just had to visit since I love the immigrant stories from the show. Came in and was greeted and I ordered a few cookies since I was on my way out of town (driving up to Indianapolis). The cookies made for delicious road snacks!

Most recently we grabbed cookies while at the Kentucky State Fair. Snickerdoodle will always be my favorite. I don't crave the cookies as much as I used to. The primary reason they are easier to resist is that they are dryer and perhaps not as fresh due to the business growth. I miss the older experience of a softer, fresher cookie that doesn't crumble. A variety of flavors are available - from the traditional chocolate chip and oatmeal to double chocolate chip and pumpkin. This store is located on Bardstown Road, which requires street parking.

"Not too worry, we are more than just straight Bourbon." Loved all the different types of art hanging on the walls, on the shelves and on the floor. It was at that point that they started to give me and my friends different sample of their homemade chocolate and bourbon balls. I read in one review that they have their own certified chocolatier who is making these things and they are good!!! The team here was so kind and helpful and I can tell you that they had everything Bourbon. A fun experience and next visit will bring back some of these items for my friends. I stopped in today for a couple of items for a care package. Immediately I was greeted at the door asking if it was my first time in. I've been in several times for holiday gifts. They have a massive selection of bourbon balls. They've been a huge hit every time they've been gifted. Each time I've visited, they've offered a sample of a bourbon ball. It's a great place to introduce visitors to bourbon balls! I haven't had the chance to do the bourbon tasting here yet but it's definitely on my list. You can add on chocolates!

Popped in this past December to pick up a Snowman house that my daughter wanted, and sure enough, they remembered me, mask and all. They brought out my house, faded receipt, just waiting on us. That's honest business. For that alone I will always shop with this group. Again, staff is friendly and knows their product. I have referred countless folks to them and will continue to do so.

When we took it back to the store (on 9/30, more than a month before the holiday) and explained the issue, the sales staff was not empathetic and told us because it was holiday merchandise they would not take it back nor offer in store credit. To make matters worse, they stated this had never happened before and implied the problem must be with our address. My advice? Do NOT shop local. Hit Hallmark or a big box store. I was able to communicate with the Shop owner via Facebook messenger, paid the invoice online, and she delivered a box full of goodies to my mother the next day! My personal favorite is the Chocolate Dipped twinkies, infused with Bourbon! I gave the shop a dollar amount and told her to make a random selection of goodies, and to please include the bourbon twinkies and some bourbon balls and cake pops. Shopping in person at a toy store -- that used to be shopping gold for shopping experiences…read more Shopping online has pretty much taken that away, but I got that feeling of joy perusing toys again when I was recently back at Playthings, shopping for my daughter's birthday presents. Like on my first visit, I appreciate Playthings great selection of educational and fun toys. Their selection gets away from gimmicky action figures, Barbies, etc., and focuses more on thoughtful toys. For example, I noticed several Melissa & Doug toys. I took my time to browse a bit, and then one of the employees asked me if they could help. I mentioned that I was shopping for my soon-to-be 1-year-old daughter and her friend, who was also celebrating a birthday. The employee pointed out toys that I may not have considered otherwise. In particular, I bought a great magnet matching game and cuddly baby doll with a magnet pacifier. (Not sure why magnets became the theme, but here we are.) Playthings also gift wraps, which is such a nice touch that helped me cross an additional item off my to-do list. My son turns 4 in just a couple of weeks. The bartender knows how to make drinks! My meal was good! My mom had the ratatouille with added shrimp. She finished it but mentioned it was too heavy on the cumin. She had the lavendar lemon cake that she thought was decent. Now my daughter, who is 12 and a very picky eater didn't want anything off the menu but I figured she would eat the cheese and pepperoni plate on the kids meal. However, because she was not 10 the waitress said she couldn't have it. That's fine, I will respect the rules of the place but I was taken a back by their unwillingness to even have me pay for it but just charge her as an adult. My child is literally a chicken nuggets and french fry child. She eats nothing outside of her safe foods. She was fine just sitting there but geesh, they were really strict about this $6 dollar kid menu item. Eventually the waitress asked the manager I suppose and I was told exactly "we will only allow it for this one time". Well that pretty much sealed the deal. I was pretty sure there wouldn't be a second time. As stated, my meal was great. I'm thankful they had the special because honestly there wasn't anything on the menu that stood out for me. If it weren't for the special, I probably would have had the soup of the day, tomato cream basil. Our server just did not make me feel as if she either enjoyed working there or she enjoyed serving us. I'm not sure which one but I won't be back to find out. She just didn't come across as friendly, but Cecilia who delivered our bread was smiling and friendly. We paid, we tipped, we left! I would have given a 5 star rating if the experience was better!
