Very quaint, super friendly, an all American diner! As we walked in, one of the customers sitting at a table greeted us very friendly-ly. We didn't know until after we were seated, when he got up, that he was actually the owner (probably the owner? or at least manager). He walks around the restaurant and sits with random customers. Ok the left we have a rib-eye steak skillet. With american fries. The portion was extremely big. The steak was cooked perfect. I loved the option of having the american fries in stead of hash browns. Eggs over easy cooked perfect. Definitely order this again. On the right is a spinach and feta omelette. One of my favorites to order at a restaurant. Food was great. Tasted like homemade, fresh and made when ordered. The only thing keeping me from giving them 5 stars was the wait. We were a party of 5, it took them 50 minutes to bring half of the food, the other had to wait another 10 minutes to get their plate. I had eggs and ham. I live literally two blocks away from Yuni's, but today's visit was only my second time here. I'll definitely make a point to get back here more whenever we are in need of a classic "diner" style breakfast. Yes, the decor isn't anything special, but I think that's reflected in the "Good lord, how cheap!?" prices: most everything was less than $8, and they also offered a "mini" size portion of their skillets (which are about 2/3rds the size of a regular one) for a smaller price. Food was good, the waitress was friendly, and I left very full and satisfied. Two things to remember: 1) The place is "seat yourself." If you stand at the door long enough (like we did), another customer will most likely tell you to grab your own seat. 2) They don't take any kinds of credit. CASH ONLY. I guess this shouldn't be a deal-breaker, but in this day and age it's not something most people would expect. Again, I assume they do this to keep their prices down. They have an ATM in the foyer, although I don't know how much of a fee is charged (if any). read more

They know what they are doing! I have friends and family that go to Yuni's every Saturday morning. Sometimes I go along if I am not working or otherwise busy. The service from Kelly the waitress is great. I might think that I only get good service from her because I am with a group of weekly regulars but for the articles and reviews posted on the wall at the restaurant. Yuni's (and Kelly specifically) have won many "Best of Racine (Racine Journal Times)" awards over the years, and with good reason. The food is good; it is exactly what I expect from a diner. The cooks never seem to have a problem cooking to order: "Blacken my toast; my bacon should oink; easy on the onions," etc. This is greasy spoon diner fare as it should be. This place is adorable. Family owned, small and we go every other weekend! The food is fantastic, the servers are wonderful and it has a homey feel to it. This last trip I asked my boyfriend to jump up and grab the door for a man with a Walker and a few minutes later an extra order of French toast showed up at our table from the chef. Stopped by Yuni's on the 4th of July when my bf and I were up there for Summerfest. Delicious breakfast place, breakfast served all day! I ordered a create-your-own-omelette option that they had and threw in ham, mozzarella, onion, and mushrooms. YumYum! There were hash browns served with my omelette and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was not at all oily like how some breakfast places have their omelettes and hash browns. I also ordered OJ, which was almost $3 for a small glass. IT's not really worth it to be honest, so wouldn't get that unless you were desperate for your OJ fix. My BF got a chicken tender omelette, which had tender grilled chicken strips inside. I thought it was going to be those battered and fried strips so I was skeptical in the beginning. Turns out to be quite nice. He also got hash browns and wheat toast with his order as well. Overall, the experience was pretty good in terms of food. In terms of service, even though they got an award for good service, I didn't feel particularly welcomed by the staff or anything of that sort. Voted Best of Racine for breakfast and server for two years running. I ordered the ham skillet which is hash browns with ham, onions and green peppers topped with cheese underneath two eggs done your way and two slices of toast. It was a very good size portion. It could've used more peppers and ham but had plenty of cheese (hey, we are in Wisconsin). Hash browns were browned perfectly for my liking. The skillet and endless coffee cost just over $8. Service was fine. Food came out quickly. Coffee cup was always full. Just a note, this is a cash-only business so plan ahead. read more

First of all, Charles B. that just gave a bad review has no idea what he is talking about. They serve their food fast because they are efficient. The cooks, i think, are amazing. I have been going there for years, literally hundreds of times and I have NEVER had a bad meal or experience. Ever! The service is exceptional and Kelly is by far the best waitress I have ever had, just like everyone says. The burgers are amazing as well as the rest of the menu. This restaurant has always been a favorite of mine for 20 maybe even 30years, even when the namesake Yuni owned it. This morning I stopped and ordered breakfast, and it was good as usual. I was finished and ready to leave, in fact I had just given the amazing waitress "kelly" my money. All of the sudden all hell broke loose in the kitchen, the owner Dean had some sort of melt down and temper tantrum. He screamed at kelly to "LOCK THE DOORS I AM DONE" and proceeded to throw things. He threw kitchen utensils towards the ordering window, and as I was sitting in the first booth I was scared that a knife was coming out of the kitchen. As it was the pots or plates he was throwing like a 2 year old splashed we with other customers food and drinks from their used and dirty dishes. So much for trying to be safe in a covid environment! I have never witnessed anything like this in a public place before, I hope to never experience it again. it is now 4 hours later and my stomach is still upset from that display. What ever Dean may be going thru, I hope he gets help before some one gets hurt. As for me, I will NEVER go into that restaurant again as long as Dean owns it. The restaurant had approximately 25 people in it and was cleared out in a matter of minutes. I got my change from my 20 left Kelly a tip and left/ in hindsight I should have told her i was not paying for that food as it will no longer digest, and it is ruined. read more

Ok, I am not a local and upon first glance (or first visit) this place seems a bit quirky. The tables in the middle are so close together it is like eating with other families but, that is kind of the charm of this place. Don't leave, join in the family atmosphere. The wait staff has been there forever and they seem to know everyone and everyone knows them. Now, let me tell you about the food. I am from the South and I have been searching for great biscuits and gravy with no luck until Yuni's. OMG it is FABULOUS!!! It is 100% homemade, just like momma used to make. YUM! The bacon is thick and good (not the cheap stuff) and the eggs are made to order. Don't rush through breakfast, sit back and enjoy the food and the people. It's a diner with all the offerings of a diner. The waitress Kelly was great, which is why she won best waitress of 2012, or something like that. Ordered the spicy chicken wrap with fries, and a senior sandwich and soup special. The food is cheap but the prices were a little high. This restaurant was rated best breakfast in Racine, WI, how it won that title mystifies me. It is a very small place decor was ok, and the staff was very friendly. The servers were quick with the coffee and my cup never went empty. I ordered steak and eggs and it was way below average. The potatoes were straight out of a bag, my eggs were under cooked, my toast was old bread that was toasted, super dry and finally my small cut of steak had so much grease in it that by the time I cut it all out I had about 3 bites worth of meat. BTW they only take cash. I am sorry but I have an attachement for my iphone if I need to take a card for something. If you are a food truck or a remotely located restraunt I cna see only taking cash.
