Because a lot of brides were in a similar position, the owners decided to help COVID brides by having a $1k dress sale, as is, off the rack to take home. I emailed their store originally just for advice, and in part to vent. The owner, Brittany, was so compassionate and understood what I was going through. She let me know to email to make an appointment, and that they'd be more than happy to help me out. I decided to schedule my appointment a bit further out, on the off chance that my dress from David's Bridal came in beforehand. I'm so glad that we made the drive. Addie was so sweet and super helpful, listened to what I were looking for, and was patient while I was trying on different gowns. Even after buying my dress, the owner followed up with me and made me feel so appreciated and asked that we send pictures of our wedding. This is just the experience I needed, and I am so happy with the dress (will post after our wedding, can't spoil the surprise for my groom)!

I knew it would take some work to make the dress what I wanted exactly (true for most dresses- unless you want to go with the fully authentic vintage look-also so cool!). I knew that vintage dresses were small, and I knew that they often had super poofy sleeves. Awesome. The dresses were all so fun and truly unique. The best part, however, was wonderful atmosphere that Nikolina created for myself, my partner and the rest of my little group. I absolutely was not not (NOT) looking forward to shopping for a wedding dress. Frankly- I was pretty grumpy about it. I hated the whole idea of being the center of attention and buying a fancy outfit made someplace far away that I would wear once. However, within the first 10 minutes I was completely at ease! This was not one of "those" wedding shops. Nikolina was the perfect combination of direct, knowledgeable and empathetic. She selected beautiful dresses for me to try on and I found several that I truly liked during the appointment. I ended up leaving with a beautiful dress the next day that I am very happy with! I could have probably gone on ebay and found a "vintage style" dress that met my needs for dirt cheap. But working with this business, with all of their knowledge and passion for what they do was such a great experience. It meant a lot to everyone there. My mom and I walked into this gorgeous atelier, and were immediately greeted by an enthusiastic and effervescent Joy, who started asking me questions about what styles I like and what I feel looks best on me. Long or short? Strapless or sleeves? What style waist? I tried on a few of the stock dresses she has on her hangers (she literally customizes every dress to YOU, whether it's a custom style or not), and we started formulating an idea of what my ideal dress would look like. She ripped off sheats of organza and started wrapping them around my body, and suddenly a dress appeared! I had three more fittings with her, and each time I got more and more excited about what was taking shape. She totally supported my vision, guiding me along the way to ensure that I would look exactly how I wanted on my wedding day, and crafted an elegant, completely unique piece that reflected the atmosphere and aesthetic we were aiming for. Her attention to detail is impeccable (she even stitched into the dress my dad's initials, so I could feel like he was a part of things even in his absence). Her energy, her creativity, her ability to make a reality out of your vision is inspiring, and makes her creations stand out even more. Joy made our wedding even more memorable thanks to her dedication to her craft, and I can't thank her enough for it. She really listened to what I was saying and helped me through the entire design process, without pushing her personal preferences/opinion/aesthetic. She is SO EASY TO WORK WITH (I felt like we were a team) and really understood the direction I wanted to take the design. I was able to explain my thoughts and ideas for the dress in rough/basic terms (poofy here, flowing there, etc) and she just totally got it... making it EVEN BETTER THAN I HAD IMAGINED it myself. Its such an amazing piece of art, Ive decided to have it framed. And it wasnt just my opinion... even the professionals i had hired for our wedding (photographer, videographer... Best Of Winners in their respective wedding field, who have seen their share of wedding dresses), SAID it was the most amazing, unique dress they have ever seen. They were all asking me who made it and where they can refer their clients to. ITS THAT STUNNING! Joy will take your vision and create a one of a kind dress that no one will forget. Men- If you plan on getting a tux from them, make sure to stay on their butts. We were told we…read morewould get a price for the tuxes at least a month out to prepare for the cost, and we didn't. We were notified that our tuxes were ready a week prior, which is great, but there was no mention of the cost. MAKE SURE you plan for their resizing. I know this is common, but we had 9 people get their suits/tuxes from them, and they ALL needed to be tailored: either wrong shoes, wrong jackets, completely wrong size pants and shirts, a mix of everything, and one of my groomsmen was big, so they resized him and just sent him with two shirts to the wedding because they were still uncertain of his size. They even looked at us and asked if we got it fitted there because of how screwed up they were (which we did). We also informed them that we did not want pocket squares and/or cufflinks, which we ended up paying for because the groomsman didn't know what they were supposed to have or not. Now, on to the cost: it says multiple places that, all said and done, the tux rental would be $250 at the high end. Asking everyone what they paid at the end, there was a variety of answers, which seems odd to me. Everything from 295-320 was paid for the suits/tuxes. Also, make sure you look at their hours, which are wonky. Someone better be able to take them back on a Tuesday if you have a Saturday wedding, because they aren't open Sundays or Saturdays.
