I was shopping there for two items and I needed assistance with one item which was under the Sony products for PlayStation. One of the guys came up, annoyed after being asked to help out a customer, and he kept complaining that there was not on the shelf, which means there was none in stock so two other guys came up to the counter and started to try to find the product that was missing and multiple of them said it was out of stock and they were not gonna go look for it. One particular gentleman, the Hispanic, big nose, one says on his radio in front of me the customer is getting mad hurry up. Keep in mind I never said anything. I just sat down on the chair that was in front of the register. The only gentleman that seem to be helpful was the one that was in charge of gaming, which was probably the manager or whatever and the other one who told me to go to the front desk for the earbuds.. But to me personally, if you're working at Best Buy and you're working in customer service, you would think this location would have better quality in their emotions and in the way they're outputting their behavior to customers. This is not the only time I've had a bad experience. Another lady started complaining about how DoorDash was a capitalist company, and it was just thriving off its customers in front of multiple customers. I would avoid this location of your needing help, but if you're there to shop and you know what you're gonna get, then definitely buy at this location, but if you're needing assistance to look for an item, they have pretty shit attitude. read more

This location has a great professional team. The staff at the cashier were awesome, especially that one lady. I believe she is the lead in that department. She was willing to assist and went above and beyond to even try to locate a hard to find item for her customers. Truly appreciate that. When making a purchase, the young man behind the register asked me for my driver's license. I asked why because I had a credit card out, ready to pay. He told me he had to have that 1st to see if I had an account there. Told him I did but wanted to use MY credit card. He told me he was going to REACTIVATE MY BEST BUY CREDIT CARD. I told him I sell credit cards and if he was actually SELLING ME A NEW CARD that I DIDN'T WANT ONE. He said no, just REACTIVATEING my account. brought my PC to the Geek Squad at Best Buy Princeton (Store #2711) under my family's TotalTech Membership. What should have been a straightforward service turned into over nine days of wasted time, contradictory explanations, and unprofessional behavior. First, they claimed my SSD was "bent" and therefore the cause of boot issues. When I pointed out that I had cloned the SSD to another drive and the same issues persisted, their story changed. Later, they said the motherboard slots were faulty. Then, I was told the graphics card was "superglued" in -- which is absurd and contradicted by photos I took before bringing the machine in. I asked repeatedly whether they reseated the SSD, tested it in another computer, or performed a Windows reimage as I originally requested. These basic steps were either not done or not documented. At one point, they even claimed to have backed up data without opening the machine, which makes no sense. Staff raised their voices at me more than once, including a manager. They often cut me off instead of letting me explain, and in one instance directed responses to my parent instead of me, even though I was the one who brought in the device. When I asked for proof (such as photos), they refused, citing "corporate policy," then contradicted themselves about whether photos could be taken. I was told the repair would take three days. It has now stretched well over a week with no resolution, only shifting explanations and stalling. I have before-service photos of my system, which directly contradict the claims made by staff. At this point, I have serious concerns that my PC was mishandled while in Geek Squad's possession. This experience has been frustrating, time-wasting, and unacceptable -- especially given that I pay for a TotalTech Membership, which is supposed to cover diagnostics and reimaging. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Purchased an iPad online for a pick up at 10:50am & they told me it would be an hour wait (perfect because I live 40 mins away). Arrived around noon & was told it wasn't ready yet, okay that's fine we'll walk around, go to different stores & get some shopping in. Come back an hour later, it's still not ready & now they're waiting on authorization from my bank?? So I called my bank & they confirmed that the payment went through. I purchased a HP Chrome laptop online on April 30th and received an email on April the 5th, that my order was delayed to as far out as the 13th, with a cancel possibility on that date. There are 2 local Best Buys in Tampa, Fl. and when attempting to change my order for pick-up, the system tells me no availibility with-in a 200 mile radius. Virtual customer service to my complaint was a terrible experience as well. I will not order again with Best Buy. read more

Terrible terrible place. Not sure why it's still open! No one works there! Before I drove in 30 minutes of traffic to come to this location, I called and was told that these two cameras that I wanted to look at were on display. I get to the store and find out they are not on display, nor do they have them for me to see. At this time I was also informed that I really didn't speak to anyone at the store and all of their calls go to a call center and the person who answered the phone has no access to their inventory. So I was lied to. I stood in the store walking around for a good 10 minutes to try to find an employee to ask where this camera was, but no one was in sight. Went to the front and spoke to the front end manager who got a store manager and just said sorry you spoke to someone in the call center. We don't even have a phone here. I've purchased a million things worth a million points but I have zero rewards. You'd think the ink cartridge I purchased would be free with my 'points' but nope. The only reason why this store is okay is I like that they have ink, prepaid phones, and SD cards ready to go versus awaiting shipping from e-commerce site. No unusual perks or anything about this store. Nostalgic big box store vibe. Loads of electronics, giant TVs, appliances, cameras etc. If they were smart they slice the store down to half its size and digitize it to stay afloat in the Amazon era. Best Buy is okay though. I'm usually fair and extremely patient. I think the wait time in the picture should be indicative of said patience. I could have easily hung up but I understand people are busy at these times. NOW, to call the Princeton store a few days ago and speak to a rep who was very "matter of fact", rude and impatient with me when I wanted to inquire about a notification BEST BUY's app sent to me is unacceptable. To call again today because my appointment I have scheduled was cancelled without anyone calling me or giving me an explanation why...is unacceptable. To have to wait 24 minutes to beg a call center rep to just transfer me to someone in the store to no avail is unacceptable. Retail is and has struggled for years with online shopping and of course wholesale clubs being so accessible. With that said, I am extremely disappointed in how this location has treated me. I scheduled an appointment online and was willing to travel to this store despite it not being my local store because they had some open appointments. I regret doing this and not just being patient enough to wait for my local store in Woodbridge/Iselin. I have had nothing but a difficult time since last week with this location and will certainly NEVER make the mistake of doing any business here again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE PRINCETON BEST BUY location. Update 10/10/21 I increased the stars from 1 to 2 because I went to the store today to pick up my item that I will just install myself. I took my back up Chromebook to the Geek Squad as it would not go into the internet although my main Chromebook had no issue with the internet. There were no agents and I had to wait 10 mins before one showed up. He showed little interest in helping me and, when he did, he kept leaving me and helping some of the other 5 customers and then eventually coming back to me. This happened about 4 times. He did absolutely nothing to solve my problem and had little interest in doing so. He then told me I could leave my Chromebook with him and it would cost me $180. I told him no thanks and walked out. He offered me no advice or suggestions and I was totally unimpressed. I've used the Geek Squad in the past and was always impressed. This time the Geek Squad was a disgrace. 100% not reliable when it comes to delivery! Range was originally scheduled to be delivered 1/7/25. Cancelled as evidently not available until 2/22/25. Got notification that date moved up to 2/11/25, then moved to 2/12/25 and ultimately cancelled for "unknown issue". Contacted them to reschedule once again and are now being told the range suddenly won't be available until 4/2025. Extremely disappointing! Not only do I not have my range but Best Buy is earning months of interest on my money! Time to get my money back and find a professional provider. I will never use BB again for anything. read more

On Black Friday, we bought two new Roku televisions, two mounts, and two installation services. We had one tv in the basement that needed to be moved to an upstairs bedroom and mounted to a wall in the corner, and the one of the new tvs would go in the basement. One tv was supposed to be mounted in my family room. We explained all this to the Best Buy worker, and he assured us they would be able to install the tvs and hook everything up, including DVD players and surround sound. We agreed on a date they would come in and install everything. As the date approached, they did not call to confirm, and eventually cancelled, saying they were overbooked. We agreed on a different date. When they finally came, they managed to move the tvs into the right rooms, and installed the two new ones, but realized they did not bring the appropriate equipment to install a tv in the corner of the bedroom. They would need to come back another day to install that one. They installed two tvs, one mounted, one on a stand. However, they told us the DVD players and surround sound systems we had were incompatible with the new tvs. Apparently, matching the AVI colored cables was beyond the abilities of the Best Buy workers, and my daughter had to come over to hook those things up. Why does Best Buy offer to install televisions when really all they do is hook up the power cord? Finally, the Best Buy workers came by with the correct mount for the bedroom corner tv. However, they decided they did not need to find a stud in the wall for the mount to anchor to. They mounted the tv to just drywall and called it a day. To no one's surprise, the tv ended up falling and breaking, leaving a large hole in our drywall. We contacted Best Buy to complain, and they told us to contact their insurance company. Insurance, after some stressful back and forth, gave us money to reimburse us for fixing the wall and for the depreciated value of the broken tv. However, when I tried to contact customer service at Best Buy to get a refund on the installation service, they never responded. We're now getting a private handyman to install a tv we just bought from Wal-Mart. tldr; don't buy tvs from Best Buy and have them install it, because they will do the bare minimum of making sure it powers on, and when their half-assed installation attempts cause hundreds of dollars worth of damage, they will do nothing about it. read more

I've purchased a few items for store pickup and it used to be troublesome here. Specifically the verification process for order pickup didn't allow for a valid secure customer security option when making a purchase online. I used to avoid making online purchases here as a result because it was a hassle to make online order pickups in a timely manner. However it looks like this Best Buy has since made changes to the order pickup process, to be consistent with other Best Buy's, for the betterment of the customer experience. Store is devoid of employees except those in front. Found an employee to help me. Was trying to sell me the most expensive tablet. Let them to the Kindle display. Told me those are all sold out. I then led the employee to the cabinet that clearly showed some of the devices were available. They reluctantly removed it from cabinet. I needed a storage card and other devices. Person did accommodate me. I was not aware until returning home the employee did not remove one of the devices from a clear security case. Tried calling to see how I can remove it from said device and instead got a snarky sarcastic girl who was only there to agitate and not help. I was shopping in this store for last 18 years and I purchased quite a few appliances, tv etc and worst experience I had today. I went today evening to best buy store in princeton, nj to find information about the new phone and trade in. Some associate went and got one young girl and I told what I want. After getting some information about phone and trade in , I asked whether the data is transferred for free. She said 99 dollars and I said before in 21 feb and march it is free. She says I am in last three years and no. I said that time it is free. She tried to convince if I take their 179 plan it is free. She had no clue about to whom we pay the activation fee (she said when we purchase phone at best buy) and me and other associate corrected her the carrier charge me . While about to leave I asked her the phones are locked or unlocked. She said locked . I told her from i phone 5 and samsung 7 onwards were unlocked since I had them. She said no. I said it looks like I know better info than you. There is one more young girl was there when I said it. I don't think she is born when we started using cell phones. Then she got mad and she made a gesture swinging her arms meaning to leave the store. Then I was upset and told her who are you to tell me to leave the store. Then leaving that area she yelled loudly "Get Out" and lot of people heard it and couple of associates are just next to me. Then I said you can not talk to customer like that and I called the manager and complained. She went to manager immediately it seems and I don't know what she said (Manager told me this) I know this store has less informed people in cell phone area but never experienced as rude as this girl in my whole life in any other store also. Went with my daughter to upgrade an IPHONE and submit a totaltech claim for a damaged phone earlier this evening at the Princeton Store. After getting the run around from a number of sales staff on how to submit a claim, I was informed I would need to make an appt with the geeks at GEEKSQUAD. We waited about 10 mins ( even though we now had an appointment). I explained the issue with the damaged phone and that I wanted to submit a totaltech claim. It was obvious the geeksquad guy was having some trouble with verifying if my totaltech membership was active. He rhen calls rhe head Geek over- If I recall, his name was John., but I wasn't really listening since at this point I was getting really angry. The head geek-John becomes condescending and rude by telling us that my membership was canceled and that i would have to buy AppleCare separately from totaltech if i wanted to file a claim for an iphone He continues to work really hard to prove his point with two important pieces of information that were incorrect ( and later verified at another store. All I know is the outcome of the conversation would have been very different if my daughter had not been with me. I will NEVER step into the Princeton BestBuy store ever again! read more

I was disabled for a month and confined completely to bed by a back injury. The Apple Pro2 that I bought were opened today 11/8 and are incompatible with my Xfinity X1 box. I called and spent 15 minutes on hold before being told not even a store credit. Best Buy has the worst return policy in electronics retail, and then won't grant a six day extension for even a store credit. This is a cold, callous, mean company. These people, one, try to rip you off, and if you are not aware of what you are doing, or what you should be getting, they would succeed. They are rude, unhelpful, sarcastic, aggressive, and a bunch of liars. They use "i'm new," as an excuse if they get caught trying to rip you off. "New?" Shouldn't they be properly trained before they start dealing with customers? They refuse to put you through to the store, if you call, and send the calls to some call center, even if you ask for the store. If you chose an option, the system hangs up on you. This isn't the best Best Buy but it's not the worst. I've been shopping at Best Buy's for 12 years and have shopped at this specific one for about 3-4 years. I have purchased a ton from this specific store. A camera, two lenses, box freezer, 2 Nintendo systems, tv, vacuum, air fryer, oculus quest, Apple TV, flash drives, paper shredder, Alexa devices and accessories, humidifier, and a remote car starter with installation. Here is a non bias review: 1- Looking at cameras was great and deciding on lenses was even better. They took them off the display for me to try on a specific model. That was awesome. 2- I ordered 2 different Nintendo systems and picked them up from a online order. No issues. Smooth and easy. 3- tv, what's annoying about the tv part is most employee's are way into up selling. I have no idea if that's good for them as employees, I find it kind of annoying. They really aren't interested in talking to you about a $500 tv you want. I bought my $500 tv regardless. 4- air fryer. Wednesday 6 pm. I wandered around the store for 30 min trying to find someone to help me. So I went and waited I in line at customer service for 15 minutes. The store wasn't packed maybe just understaffed for specific areas? I'm a manager so I wasn't going to a different part of store because I know that's their job to be where they are. 5- I ordered a car starter that fit my car and should work. When I went for the install the tech said that there is one in stock more compatible with my car and I said ok. The return/ swap was easy. What I don't like is they messed up my windshield wiper mechanism in my steering column. But the starter works. You sign a waver for install, and I knew they could mess something up. I wish they didn't mess it up but they did. I'm not going to be a Karen about something I agreed to. All in all it's a average Best Buy. Camera area is one of my favorites about this store. They knew more than I did and I appreciated that. Word to the wise. Don't ship to your house for expensive items. They don't require a signature and you don't know what happens to your item during shipping. Pick it up in store for less hassle. Since they ship to the store in bulk it's less likely your item would be damaged. read more

This Best Buy is so plain Jane. Almost all shelves were empty with no merchandise. The aisles are too far apart from each other that it's almost like a warehouse. The store is very clean, but that's pretty much where it ends there. Limited video selection, and most of the store is took up by those huge Roku TVs. I don't understand how the store will stay in business at this point. Instead of "Best Buy" it should be called "Wait Buy". The whole point to going to a brick and mortar is the customer service and to speak to a person. It took 45 minutes for an associate to become available to help me. I was gone by then and decided to purchase online by that point. While no one associate was rude or inappropriate, the model itself was not set up to provide customer service. You basically need a reservation to have someone help you. It's not a stop in and ask questions kind of place anymore. Good luck calling ahead to get that reservation though. Nevertheless, their product selection was anemic compared to the aggressively priced broad range of fitness band trackers from the nearby Walmart. They were not able to fix it and sent out Geek Squad (Brian) who is apparently the only person they use. He was unable to resolve the issue and was not helpful at all and seemed frustrated with her. She made another appointment as the store said nothing they could do and another appointment was made with Brian. He canceled day if and said he cannot help. This is no way to run a business and help people. I just called the store to discuss this and was asked if wants the computer department and just purchase another one.
