I had had Therapy previously and had no desire to return to them. After searching I decided to go to Alpine Physical Therapy. Rob, my therapist immediately wanted to know what my goals were. My goal was to paddle board this summer. I was progressing great. My balance and strength were well on the way to a full recovery. Unfortunately I broke my foot in March. I returned to Alpine Physical Therapy once again and continued my recovery. Rob always explained each exercise and made sure I had proper form, evaluate my progress, and adjust things based on my capacities. During every session I had his full attention during the entire time. My time there was always pleasant. The facility is very clean. The staff was extremely friendly. AND best of all I met my goals and had a fun filled summer. Do yourself a favor and see him if you are in need of Physical therapy.

He made an analysis of me and then gave me 3 exercises to do. 1. The Cat and Cow ( a basic exercise or the Cat and Camel taught to most in Yoga or fitness stretching ) 2. The Cobra Stretch- again basic 3. rocking my bent legs side to side I am an Athlete. He needs to give exercises up to the level of the client. I should have gone to someone who specialized in athletes if this was the way he conducts business. ___ The next time I came in, he did the same 3 exercises and massaged my back for 5 minutes. Nothing new and again, probably another $150. ____ The exercises helped some but certainly, to do the same 3 exercises in 2 sessions that were basic 101 .

Where do I start? I love this studio! I had been searching for that special studio that felt like…read morehome for quite some time when I walked into Still Water Yoga & Wellness Studio for the first time. I can absolutely say, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that I found it here, I feel SO at home here at Still Water! Shannon, the owner, is one of the best instructors I have ever taken a class with, and the amazing part is, that ALL of her instructors are amazing! Since she is a certified teacher trainer and certifies a lot of her teachers herself, there is an incredible amount of consistency at Still Water, no matter whose class you are taking that day. The dictation is so clear, and we are always given three levels to stop at, so we can practice at our own level, push ourselves if we want to, take it easy if that's what our body or soul needs that day, and there is never any judgement or criticism, only encouragement, positive vibes, and genuine love for every single person in the room, breathing together as one. I just got back from a retreat in Greece too, which Shannon herself ran from start to finish. It was AMAZING, I don't even know how to describe the high I'm on right now! We just got home (hubby and I went together), and I want to go back already, lol. Seriously though, the friendships and memories we made will last a lifetime, and I will never forget the moments we had laughing, crying (good tears), and practicing yoga in one of the most beautiful settings I've ever seen together. If you're looking for something more than just a place to take a yoga class here and there, give Still Water a shot. This is not just any yoga studio, it's a yoga FAMILY, and you will be welcomed with open arms the moment you walk through the door, even if it's your very first time. We are lifer's, and we can't wait for the next retreat. Thank you for the wonderful community you've built, Shannon, we are forever changed for the better!

An absolute gem of a yoga studio in South Lake Tahoe! After doing a lot of research on local yoga…read morestudios in the area for myself, as well as the fitness & wellness retreat my husband and I run at Lake Tahoe, I was really impressed by this studio and the instructors' bios on their website. Shannon's bio in particular struck me, as I am a big fan of some of the yogis she has trained under and trained with. I reached out to her via email and got a quick response back. Right off the bat, she was very gracious and welcoming. A week or two later, my husband and I brought a small group (6 of us total) to practice yoga with Shannon at her Weekend Warrior class on a recent Sunday, and we all had a wonderful, blissful experience! Shannon is just as lovely and welcoming in person as she was through our correspondences via email. The Sunday class we took was the perfect blend of a challenging, invigorating, centering, calming, and inspiring Vinyasa class that I was looking for. Even the Savasana at the end of class was wonderful with all the extra attention to detail, head/shoulder mini massage, and the darkening of the room to create an extra tranquil, meditative environment for us. Thank you so much, Shannon and Still Water Yoga! We will be back soon to your beautiful studio, and definitely bring our next group over to share in this awesome experience!

My healthcare insurance does not cover acupuncture so I pay the street rate (which I consider to be reasonable). Colby is a skilled and nuanced practitioner, and got my shoulder back in working order quickly (in combination with physical therapy). Side note for Yelp readers who might be skeptical about acupuncture: my physical therapist, Scot Ruby at St Charles, was able to tell whether I had recently had treatment from Colby. He was able to see significantly-improved shoulder mobilization and looseness each time that my PT session followed an acupuncture treatment. It is clear that the combination of acupuncture and physical therapy made for my speedy recovery. I also have been along for the journey for physical therapy. Meg Starr is the lead PT for this hip-related case. Meg is a highly-skilled and emotionally intuitive practitioner. She has been executing a treatment program that balances the needs of multiple combined (and occasionally conflicting) conditions at the same time. Controlled studies show that patient outcomes are positively-correlated with a clinician's bedside manner, I.e. The warmer the clinician, the better the outcome. I am convinced that Meg's empathetic-yet-crisp professionalism is making a huge and positive impact on the recovery rate for this case. The overall vibe for all staff at this location is comfortable, compassionate, and fun. Clearly, the management team for this location has hired extremely-well and is cultivating a culture that puts the patient's wellbeing first. I would strongly recommend this clinic without reservation!
