I'm a meat and potatoes kinda gal, and I really enjoyed Mrs. Potato's take on two of my favorite foods. My boyfriend and I went here on Friday night and got two of their rostis, which are essentially huge stuffed hash browns. We were the only ones there, and placed our order quickly, as we had an appointment to get to shortly thereafter. It was 35 minutes until we got our food. Since the restaurant was empty, and we saw at least four employees in back, this seemed extreme. When we did finally get our food, we were really hungry and rushed to make our appointment, but the rostis turned out great. I got the carne seca, which was delicious but way too salty, and my boyfriend got the chicken catupiry, which was hearty but a little bland. Ample amounts of the garlic sauce they provide were employed to give more balance to each of our dishes. The next day I chopped up some of my leftovers and tossed with some eggs for breakfast, which I would highly recommend for your rosti leftovers! Completely repurposed, the dish complemented the eggs perfectly. I'll definitely be back to Mrs. Potato--the rosti is too great of a concept not to give another chance. I hope for a shorter wait and a more complete rosti flavor profile next time I go! read more

Before, I only knew Brazilians like Soccer. Now after many "Mr Potato" visits I know they love more Garlic! The speciallty is the Dried Beef Rosti! It is a tasty potato pot pie filled with cream (Philladelphia maybe?), a lot of garlic, butter and Dried Beef! Then you add more bottled garlic sauce on top! The churros filled with Nutela still were good the next day when I microwaved it. And there are plenty of "Bolo de Pote" varieties (Cake Sundae in a to-go cup) to die for! Only regret to pay a little more on the potato specialties but the "X-Tudo" Brazilian Burguers are well worth the money and super flavoured : Beef patty, ham, cheese, corn, potato sticks, tomatoes, lettuce and has been my favorite for the last month! We had a lovely dinner last night. Started with the cheeseballs and the garlic sauce that was very good. Also had the chicken rossti With the Brazilian cream on top. Extremely good which the waiter told us was a best seller. We also ordered the broccoli and cheese Rosti which was a good alternative for meatless. This place is not fancy. It's got a neon sign out front. It's in a strip mall. And it may be the best thing that's ever happened to comfort food in Orlando. Imagine your favorite pot pie, made from hash browns, stuffed with any other number of goodness. If you're craving a baked potato the size of your head, also stuffed with goodness, try here. It's a Brazilian place, but they also have delicious empanadas, and STUFFED churros with either Nutella or dulce de leche. It's not a place for someone on Atkins. This little Brazilian Restaurant has been featured in a popular food show and it does not disappoint. They are famous for Rafaela's rosti potatoes, but I come here for the cheese empanadas and picanha meal, which are always on point - delicious ! It's a small place but they make up for it with the rostis! One of kind stuffed hash brown deliciousness and apparently they have one the excellence award on trip advisor for years in a row. I checked in with yelp so I got the free guarana soda. My daughter had the chicken kids meal which she loved!! She kept saying this food is toooo good! She is 4 and has never said that about my food :( I had the cheese balls which were great. I love how they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Not too much oil at all. I had the veggie burger which was not exactly veggie not exactly burger. It had a light a crispy taste to the burger. More floury consistency than meaty. But it did the trick not enough pink sauce and no french fries came with it like in the online menu. I also had the veggie rosti, and I was not at all impressed. It was lacking a flavor. A creamy sauce would have brought it together. My friend ate some and she love it as well as the beef empanada. My friend had the egg custard and I had the flan. The egg custard was great I enjoyed the crust. The flan was more eggy than I appreciate but still good. Again, my daughter enjoyed it so much she ate the whole thing. The waitress was very nice and went out of her way to give my daughter a Mrs Potato-head to play with .I am glad I gave this place a try. I think it would be a perfect 10 for meat lovers. Very unusual & interesting, but I probably wouldn't want to get it again. I tried the carne seca rosti with cream cheese. It is a shredded potato enormous flattened ball stuffed with shredded meat, with garlic cream cheese. Little red peppers (not hot) surprised me. It is an interesting dish made famous by Diners, Drive- ins, and Dives, so I was eager to try it. The first time I dropped by to try the rosti I was told it takes 1/2 hour to make. I came back another day and was told it takes 20 minutes. I went for a walk & came back for it. It is a hole in the wall joint in a strip mall. There are a handful of tables. Mr. & Mrs. Potatoes on the wall. Cute place. Service is very nice, friendly, & helpful. It was $17. Not cheap. Very large portion (for me at least)- I got 2 lunches out of it. My wife and I were visiting Orlando and we were tired and hungry after a day of shopping at Disney Springs. None of the Disney fare seemed very appealing, so we looked on TA and found Mrs Potato - it was a bit of a drive but SO worth it! Thais welcomed us, was very friendly and helpful, and walked us through the menu - she was basically the "Ambassador" for the restaurant (which doesn't seem like much when you walk in, it's a small location). She brought us several samples, to help narrow our choices and, with her assistance, we settled on the loaded fries (shared) and the Chicken Catupiry Rosti (also shared) to which we added broccoli and bacon. Both of these came out freshly made and hot -they were both delicious and we had about a third left over when we tapped out. We saved room for a couple of light desserts so we tried the churros (two small churros with either dulce de leche or Nutella for dipping) and the flan - which was absolutely the best I have ever tasted! It was also small, but sweet and rich and the perfect consistency. Thais brought some Brazilian coffee, which was strong and in a small cup like espresso, which perfectly complimented the desserts. We are hoping to find time to return and try the empanada before we leave, but will need to walk off some calories at Disney first. If you haven't tried Mrs. potato, you have to go soon - Guy Fieri loved it on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives and so do we! I love Mrs Potato!! Best Empanadas I've ever had!! I don't live in Orlando, but visit my daughter who does, quite frequently, and this is my favorite place to eat. Luckily my daughter only lives about 5 minutes away. Brazilian food and rave reviews sounded like an opportunity to try some authentic dishes and escape from the $25 chicken tenders you can get at City Walk, so we gave it a try. The place is a little out of the way, Google maps makes it seem like its in another shopping area but its in the same complex as the Publix supermarket, right at the intersection of Conroy and Kirkman Rd. Facing the Publix, turn right and just keep walking till you reach the very last door in the strip and you're there. We got there at 9 and while we were there, 4 more parties arrived, so it seems that people like to go here for late night munchies. We were also always the only English speaking party there, everyone was speaking Portuguese! They seemed to approve of the authenticity, always a good sign! You can get things like burgers and sandwiches and meat plates, but we went for the empanadas and the potato dishes. The empanadas are big, about the size of my hand. Crispy, not too oily fried exterior and the insides stuffed to the brim! They don't skimp and your $2.50 is more than worth it. Potato dishes are available as "baked" or "rosti." Get rosti for a unique twist on potato dishes, and also because both servers recommended them. Rosti style is basically two skillet-fulls of hasbrowns sandwiching your choice of filling. Its pretty big and you can share it between two people. We also got the dulce de leche churros for dessert and they were warm, sticky, and fresh. Other people were coming in just for a snack of the churros. Prices are really good here, especially considering the portion sizes. My boyfriend and I split one empanadas, one rosti, and one churro and were both stuffed, all for a grand total of under $18 before tip. The King of all Potatoes! So every time I come here I am impressed with the portion size of the magnificent monstrosity. I ordered the Baked Potato which consisted of Bacon, Cream Cheese, and Onions. Simply the result was delicious and super filling. I can never eat a full Baked Potato here in one sitting, I always have left overs. The service here is spot on and so is the food.
