El Tapatio has its own private parking lot, which is a big plus, plenty of space and easy access. The restaurant itself is large, open, and very clean, with a comfortable atmosphere. The food is solid, classic Mexican dishes, not meant to minimize it at all, because everything we had was good and exactly what you expect from a dependable Mexican spot. Service was friendly and attentive throughout our visit, and prices are very reasonable for the portions. If I could just make a comment without a rating then I would, but since that is not allowed - This restaurant is not "dog friendly". They are people friendly and did apologize, and the aromas smelled great. Did not eat here because we have a 14 yo dog with leukemia which we try and take with us when we have a day of long errands. Customer Service and the orchard was good. Drinks were ok. One margarita had way to much lime that we just left it. It looked cool, but it was not good. The patron margarita was pretty good. The food was presented good and looked great. On tast the beef was very salty and the chicken chimi was very dry, but full of meat. We probably would not be back as I could not eat the food due to the high salt content. On a lighter note, my daughter loved her nugget meal, but it's hard to mess up nuggets. Stopped in after many years on a Saturday mid day and it was pretty only 2 other tables. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. But the food was not what I remember. It was flavorless and not as described on the menu. Someone at my table ordered the flank steak and for another cut of meat. It was small and tough to eat and no flavor. The chimichanga I ordered was dry and barely had any cheese on top as it's supposed to. Went for lunch today with family after a long day at the farmers market and I was very surprised by how down service was. A few years ago this restaurant had all the tables full and now it was empty with just a few tables on a Saturday but I can definitely see why. The food quality has decreased and it not high quality as it was before. I ordered the carne asada which on the menu it states "flank steak" but when I received my order the cut of meat was not flank steak. It was definitely a different cut of meat. The meat was tough and shaped round. I asked the manager and she said it's the same cut of meat they always serve with that meal but I am very knowledgeable with cuts of meats and I can confirm that was not flank steak and they are selling meats that are not what they say it is. I was very disappointed as this used to be one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I was shocked to see how empty it was for a Saturday but I can see why sales have gone down. read more

This restaurant is huge. It has a bar on the left-hand side when you come in and then a big dining room that can see a lot of people. The food is pretty authentic a lot of plates come with beans and rice, which I love your agreed it with some chips and salsa the Agua Fresca's are delicious. I got the pineapple for dinner. I got three gringo tacos with pork and they were delicious as well as the beans and rice that came on the side will be back to try more food here as well as some more drink drinks. Soon as I walk in there is no hostess and it's dead inside, mind you I came on a Friday around 5pm. After waiting for a while for a hostess, I realized that no one spoke English, now usually this isn't an issue as long as we can somewhat communicate on ordering but unfortunately that was an issue. I sat down and asked for a passion fruit margarita and the lady who didn't speak English didn't understand, I pointed in the menu and kept saying "dragonfruit" and I'm like "no" and it was back and forth for a while, she kept coming back and asking "dragon fruit" and it was getting pretty frustrating. She finally brought me something and it was fine, not the greatest but fine. For the entree I got steak enchilada with yellow rice and refried beans. The rice and beans tasted good but the enchilada barely had cheese on top and the steak inside was gross, tasted like super cooked steak and just wasn't great. Not a fan of this place. read more

My friends had been raving about this spot for a while so I was very excited to check it out. The restaurant was so cool and uniquely decorated (I need that tequila floor in my home now lol), the service was great, and the food was good. I ordered the passionfruit margarita which wasn't very passionfruit-y but still good, the quesadilla I ordered was huge but needed a little bit more seasoning/flavor, the rice was delicious, and the fries were okay. It's been a while since we dined here. They have updated the inside, it's much more brighter with the improved lighting. The food is still really good. You get a good portion size of food. When you sit down you are brought over chips and salsa. The salsa has good flavor, it's a bit on the thinner side for me but still good. Drinks were well made. I asked for a skinny Margarita. It was strong!!! It was also a bit tart but I enjoyed it. Hubby ordered a Michelada. He said it was one of the more flavorful ones he has had. Decided to stop in for dinner and we were not disappointed with our choice. The restaurant is so beautifully decorated with different Mexican decor, bright and vibrant. We were immediately greeted as we walked in, we opted to sit at the bar. Bartenders and our server were attentive and helpful. I did order a riunite margarita and it was originally served half full (never seen it done that way), I asked the bartender to fill it up just a little more with frozen which was not an issue. The food was great quality, and the price for everything we got was honestly amazing. We ordered the queso dip for our appetizer, so good. The remodel on this restaurant is amazing and the food is great. The new location, formerly a TGI Friday's, it is the second location for El Tapatio. Our neighborhood has watched while they gutted the old space and remodeled inside and out. The decor is resplendent in color and the layout calls for a large party. Just off the lobby is a semi private room with shining chandeliers and a table laid out with beautiful crockery. There are plenty of large tables and booths line the walls with plexiglass added for pandemic dining. I headed over to the bar since no one was sitting there and it seemed like a safe place. The red bar is grand and they have multiple brands of call liquor lighted to provide ambiance. The taps offer multiple brands of Mexican beer and common US brands. Happy hour is 11 - 5 pm. As I was leaving I noticed several jugs of juices located near the kitchen. The 7 or 8 large containers of juice looked visually appealing and fresh. Next time. The menu if virtual so you scan or type in the URL. www.eltapatatioorlando.com. The prices are quite reasonable. I ordered the chicken fajitas for $13 and I got a large portion. The single carnitas taco I ordered on the side was full of pork and had a refreshing radish garnish. It was a street taco style with onions and cilantro. El Tapatio offers some lighter or lower priced plates so this sit down restaurant compares price wise to a lot of the quick serve Latin food restaurants in the area. I had excellent service. I was greeted promptly and my server offered guidance on the menu and suggestions. I thought it was very thoughtful that he asked how I wanted the timing on the items I ordered. The only thing is the fajitas came with rice and beans. He brought out the fixing and sides for my fajitas moments before my entree was served. They had run out of rice and had substituted French fries. They were fresh and hot. As they just opened, I know they were busy, however I would have preferred if they offered me a choice rather than assumed fries were a suitable replacement. We arrived a little passed 2pm on a Saturday, the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived, but it picked up as we were sitting down. Waited about 2 mins to be seated (hostess wasn't at the stand). We finally sat at our table, waited about 5 mins to be introduced to our server Ruby. She then came and took our order of drinks and appetizers. We had a few questions about the market price for the seafood and the kindly and efficiently found out the answer. Our drinks for our table came efficiently. We proceeded to order our food since one person in our party was a little tight on time. The food came all at once except the seafood soup. The seafood soup took the longest and was the first plate to be ordered... The service is lacking at this location. Seems like the servers are a little inexperienced and just starting to pick up the pace. I'd give this restaurant another try bc the kitchen was delightful and on point!! I asked for the Alambre which includes steak, chorizo, chicken, pork, and ham but I ordered it today without ham. When it came out the first time it only had ham and chicken. I sent it back because I specifically asked for no ham and it was missing the steak, pork, and chorizo. the next time it came out only with steak and chicken as pictured below and was again missing the pork and chorizo. After the second mistake, the manager came over to try and resolve the issue but just came over with only the chorizo. So even after a 3rd attempt I never got the pork or my order fulfilled correctly. I then asked my waiter for more tortillas and he LIED and said that wasn't possible as the person who makes tortillas had left, so I asked the manager for the tortillas instead and she was able to bring 3 more out. The food never met basic expectations and the service was never focused around a customer's requests. they lost a current and future customer in me forever. This establishment doesn't deserve your hard earned money just choose one of the other great mexican places nearby. But if you want to constantly send your sub par food back and deal with incompetence over and over again then eat here :) read more

I have nothing good to say about the food. I'll start with the chile rellenos. The pepper had no char or even any sign of having been roasted. It looked like it had been microwaved or something. There wasn't much cheese, and the sauce had no flavor. The worst part was the breading. Perhaps it had been baked, but it was very spongy and gave absolutely no indication that it had been dunked in hot oil. I'm a gringo, and I could make a better dish without even using a recipe. We ordered two tamales. They were cold and flavorless. The meat was bone-dry. On top, they tossed a little shredded cheese that hadn't even been melted all the way. I couldn't finish even half of a tamale. My chimichanga was at least edible. I had the ground beef, which had no flavor. The cheese on top was thinned out and lacked flavor, also. I had a sope, too. The al pastor was terrible, and the sope was so dry that I couldn't break through the outer edge without using a lot of force. The chicken was dry and hard, and I didn't taste any sweetness from pineapple at all. The drink glasses and chip baskets were quite small, too. We were there for my wife's birthday, but we skipped ordering a dessert and went for ice cream. I made beef tacos last week, and my food was way better than this slop. What an embarrasment to Mexican cuisine. No wonder it wasn't very busy. Taco Bell has more flavor. I joked that they must have run out of spices. Where was the chili powder, garlic, cumin, etc.? We have been several times and it's become one of our favorite places to eat in town...I almost always get the same dishes (veggie fajitas that are piled high with all the sides and homemade corn tortillas or chile relleno that's made fresh, crispy, and stuffed with delicious cheese, but the shrimp dishes are also so good and my husband always gets a combo with three)...yes the servers speak Spanish in this local Mexican restaurant, but they also speak English even if it's their second language and they are amazing. Angel is the best by the way. It's super affordable, delicious, served fast, and a great environment. We will be back for sure. read more
