This place is really good, but with an asterisk. We pull up, windows have heavy tint so you can't see inside. Inside, it's bright & somewhat plain. We're seated right away. Feels somewhat like a small-town diner. The menu has awesome choices, but there's a ton of stuff that is $30+ (several $50+) and I really didn't want to spend that much on lunch. I picked a snapper sandwich with a side caesar & my friend got a shrimp quesadilla. They came out about 10-15 mins later. price seemed a bit high, but i know costs have skyrocketed lately, so them's the breaks. The fish on my sandwich was flavorful - but very dry. Would have been better cooked with some kind of fat. The bread was fluffy & nice, but fell apart right away. The veggies in the sandwich were fresh & bright. The caesar side was amazing. they gave me tartar & ketchup, so i asked for cocktail sauce because ketchup is weird for this. No problem. I didn't even finish half because it was so big! My friend's quesadilla was very tasty, but for some reason, it's an absolute oil slick. So the opposite end of the spectrum lol. She enjoyed it but couldn't finish because it was too greasy. There was a thick layer of oil on the plate and on the quesadilla. The ladies working there are really nice & helpful. They checked on us several times. I paid really fast & they got us out the door in less than 45 minutes! I would love to get some of the fancier stuff sometime, but would probably want to eat it elsewhere, because the diner feel doesn't match how fancy the food is. But overall, great experience with the asterisk being the cooking styles & plain appearance. I thought i got pics but can't find them now, but the presentation was great. read more

My family of four came on Monday around 1:30 pm after arriving in Orlando. It was a pleasant 15 min drive from the airport. We were warmly greeted and picked our table. I ordered the blackened snapper sandwich, husband ordered the blackened grouper, son ordered the blackened salmon plate which comes with broccoli and rice, and daughter got the shrimp fettuccine Alfredo. We also got a side of sweet potato fries. The sandwiches were outstanding and come with French fries. While we were waiting on our food, we played trivia which was on the TV and had an amusing time. Happy Snapper Seafood Restaurant is a great place tucked away in a quiet little shopping plaza in Belle Isle with a little sign that I would never had noticed had I not been looking for it. Walking in, I was greeted by a friendly young gentleman. I had placed a to-go order and within minutes, my food was handed to me. I had ordered the grouper with fried rice and vegetable medley and the calamari appetizer. I have to say that both the grouper and calamari were excellent. The fried rice and vegetable medley were also pretty amazing. The prices here are very good. The grouper plate was about twenty-two dollars and the calamari was about eighteen dollars. The quality of the food could definitely rival more expensive restaurants. I will definitely have to return here and I will give it five stars for an incredible meal. read more

We had to take a trip to downtown Orlando and decided to stop here for lunch, though the restaurant was not busy, we saw a lot of take out orders going out. Our server was okay could do better on asking if we ever been here and explain the menu. Felt a lil rushed. I ordered the Blackened Salmon (as shown below) I had two sides. The rice was okay. Broccoli was amazing !!! My mom had the fried rice and shrimp w/the sauce on the side. She said it was okay. I give my Salmon a 4/5 just next i won't order that white rice. Okay everyone needs to run and have the blue crab soup! Like for real!! That soup was absolutely delicious, filled with so much crab meat, incredible fresh flavor and served piping hot freshly made. It came out highly spiced and blackened . When asked, she stated that is what is meant by pan seared. The prices were not inexpensive. Chose this restaurant based on the 5 stars and many reviews. We arrived on a Friday night at 7:45 pm and didn't realize that they closed at 8:00. The servers were very gracious and said it wouldn't be a problem at all. Small restaurant with about 8 tables or so and there was only one other inside table with guests, due to the almost closing hour presumably. They also had a few tables outside facing the parking lot. An interesting note: they had religious (Christian) cartoons on one of their three screens. I found that very odd for a restaurant. One screen had trivia questions that was quite fun to play along with. Both of my friends ordered the Grouper platter and I ordered the Salmon burger. Our orders came up fairly quickly. The grouper was served over rice and steamed broccoli. The broccoli was very obviously from a frozen bag. Both of my friends added salt and pepper to their meals, as nothing was well seasoned. My salmon burger came with fries. The burger had a lot of breading and it wasn't well incorporated into the mix, so you could see small clumps of it throughout the burger. It was on the dry side, but overall tasted okay. The fries were lightly breaded and tasty. They have Coke products in cans only, not fountain drinks. One friend ordered unsweet tea, which came in a bottle, and asked for sweetener, which they didn't have. Overall, the meal was just okay and I'm not really sure how they got a 5-star rating.
