Happy Snapper Seafood Restaurant is a great place tucked away in a quiet little shopping plaza in Belle Isle with a little sign that I would never had noticed had I not been looking for it. Walking in, I was greeted by a friendly young gentleman. I had placed a to-go order and within minutes, my food was handed to me. I had ordered the grouper with fried rice and vegetable medley and the calamari appetizer. I have to say that both the grouper and calamari were excellent. The fried rice and vegetable medley were also pretty amazing. The prices here are very good. The grouper plate was about twenty-two dollars and the calamari was about eighteen dollars. The quality of the food could definitely rival more expensive restaurants. I will definitely have to return here and I will give it five stars for an incredible meal. read more

We had to take a trip to downtown Orlando and decided to stop here for lunch, though the restaurant was not busy, we saw a lot of take out orders going out. Our fish sandwiches, grouper and snapper were both well prepared and very tasty, the bread was nicely toasted and the toppings were fresh. The dill Yuca was a tasty surprise. Service was great. We always try to support small businesses. The server was very attentive and pleasant. We asked her how the grouper was prepared. She told us " lightly pan seared". It came out highly spiced and blackened . When asked, she stated that is what is meant by pan seared. The prices were not inexpensive. We figured there may have been a bit of a language barrier, so just ate what we could. The broccoli was also way over-spiced and the dill potatoes were bland, not tasty at all. Our server was okay could do better on asking if we ever been here and explain the menu. Felt a lil rushed. I ordered the Blackened Salmon (as shown below) I had two sides. The rice was okay. We came here on our vacation seeking good red snapper. We drove 30mins for the food. The snapper sandwich was seasoned to perfection but over cooked. It needed to be taken out at least 2 minutes earlier. The plantains were a disappointment because they were more as "plantains chips." They were not ripe & very starchy. This is in a little strip mall a smidge off the normal tourist areas, but worth the visit!! It is on the smaller side, with only one bathroom. The server was super nice and helpful. The fish and chips was super flaky and borderline flash fried, there wasn't much crust which made it very light. The snapper sandwich was delicious! The fish was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The tomatoes and onions pair well with the fish on a very fresh roll. Super good!! The one downside, which isn't really a downside, the only thing they have that isn't seafood is chicken wings, so my daughter ended up having a shrimp quesadilla with no shrimp keep that in mind for kids or adults that may not be fish fans. read more
