We camp near there every summer. It's our go to place. The food is amazing! Always the best home made dishes ! The soups are the best! Prices are good and decor is perfect, always clean and the older atmosphere is perfect. No frills but always comfortable and clean. The staff is always polite and service fast. Great coffee also! Got the chipped beef breakfast this morning, it was spot on and plenty of it!!!! Their soups are the best, but can be a bit on the warm side, I like my soups hot. But always tasty! I'm glad I gave this place a try for lunch. Friends raved about the home made soups, and I see why. We tried the Manhattan clam chowder, ham & bean, and corn chowder...Delicious!! We also got the home made spinach pie as an appetizer, SO good. Then we got the gyro platter and home made monte cristo with fresh carrots and stewed cabbage. It was all fantastic! What I love most about the Mount Bethel Diner is that it feels like home because every time I go I see people from my church and other friends from the neighborhood! Especially on Sundays, there will be about 30 people that come right after church! The waitress's are wonderful they actually remember how you like your food! This diner was an interesting experience with a small town charm and small town hospitality. Friendly service, decent food, but the uncouth amenities made this stop a bit off-putting. We escaped here from Route 80 W from a jack knifed truck who held up traffic for miles. I rerouted and exited 4B and then by passed the bottleneck getting in 611 heading in Delaware to this little oasis. Huge portions, wide variety and fresh offers. This is an excellent diner. It includes everything I'd hope for from a diner: good tasting food (I've had sandwiches and pancakes), quick service, friendly servers, reasonable prices, comfortable seats, a relaxed environment, everything is kept clean, and the parking lot is large enough so you know you'll always find a spot. Additionally, if you get a window seat on the right side, you'll get a truly gorgeous view of the Delaware Water Gap. I realize that for the locals, this is something you see everyday and get used to. But for people visiting the area, it really is a nice extra treat. It's located directly across the road from a gas station which includes a good mini mart. But this road is quiet, and the spot still has a pleasant, calm, country feel. It's about two minutes from an entrance to the Route 80 Highway. In short: it's a great diner in a great location! read more

We were in the area and running early For a real estate closing so we stopped into this diner for breakfast. Being from New York City we were kind of surprised on how nice the place was. Fair prices, good food with a view of the mountains. Plenty of parking. I have to say this is one of the best diners in the world, top notch food, top notch service. My late grandmother Myrtle and my family would come here and it'd be wonderful and it still remains wonderful. Another experience of success tonight (11/15/19) with a waitress by the name of Jordan, she's a gem, one of the best waitresses I've seen in my so far 32 years on this earth. She was attentive, friendly, genuine and showed immense concern and care on all of the issues presented. This place was AMAZING! I just got back from camping around that area. When a friend said for us to go to a diner for dinner, I thought nothing big. Diner food is OK. I am from Jersey so I know the kind of food you typically find. This, though, was awesome! I got baked meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and French onion soup along with Moose Tracks for dessert. Have been dining here regularly the last 25 years and can tell you th enew owners & chefs are doing a fabulous job. SO fabulous that usually after finishing our meals in the dining room, we take out 2 or 3 quarts of soup & another meal for later quickie heat up at home. The spinach pie is out of this world, the soups hit the spot all year long..... not just in cooler weather. The pork and sauerkraut and stuffed cabbage are favorites of ours along with the fish dinners. Haven't had anything disappointing there yet and don't expect to either. The wait staff and male hist are over the top friendly and respectful always greeting the customers with a smile. I'm not sure what happened with those who wrote poor reviews, if it changed hands or cooks, but we came back 4-5 times for breakfast and loved it. They gave us 3 options of potatoes. We also came back for dinner one night, and except for the one waitress (who regrettably we got for dinner- don't go left, go right upon walking in and avoid her), we LOVED our dinner. It was obvious everything, including the soup, was homemade. The portions for both breakfast and dinner were great. The food was tasty, and if we lived closer, we'd probably go at least 3 times a week. Don't let the others deter you. Try it out. Maybe they think it's some other place. Strolled in here for a quick breakfast before fishing for the day. We were very pleased actually....the breakfast menu has many choices.....but something key was also prevalent. Long story short....you know how you got get a "non heart healthy" breakfast at a diner (I'm talking eggs, bacon, home fries, etc)....and about an hour later, you get that feeling in your body of grease / heartburn? Well here comes the good news....I decided to get one of those breakfasts.....was prepared mentally I might not feel well.....but low and behold.......it never came.
