Visited while in town visiting family. This is an old timer like dinner ambiance. Nothing fancy or even themed just a good local diner. Many locals came for a quick breakfast. Food was above average with many options. Two in our party had omelettes (western and Spanish) with plenty of filling. I had over easy eggs which were nicely done with plenty of yolk for dipping. Last one in our party had sausage and biscuits which she orders frequently and loves. Servers here are older women (we think family members) who are a bit short on order taking and a little bossy. If you are looking for an old-time diner experience, this is the place. From the small restaurant, the old menus, and the friendliness of the wait staff, we found the diner very welcoming. As a patron of Palmer as well as several other area diners and restaurants as well as a home chef, I have this to say about Palmer Diner: you come here realizing that you are supporting an American institution, the old time town diner. If you're expecting a sports bar or gourmet food, this is not the place. But if you come to spend time eating nutritious food made and served by honest family- loving people and support their business and help the local economy, then this is the place. Yeah I could give pointers on a dish or two but overall visiting here has a certain comfort. I've read other pretty cruel reviews here and think that some people don't consider the effect of their words. read more

Don't do it! My mother-in-law ordered the cheese ravioli featured on the menu only to be told they don't serve it anymore since there was t a big demand for it during COVID. HELLO! Update your menu or at least take a Sharpie and strike through it. We all got sandwiches, on the order of what you would make at home. My husband said his BLT had one strip of bacon in it. It's a neat place. At first, I was amazed by the vintage feeling and look of the restaurant. Although, the place is small so I could see how it could be cramped if it was busy. Our service was amazing. They may not be young waitresses, but they definitely were attentive to our needs. The food was okay--not the best diner food but certainly not the worse. I could see how this place could be a sit down for lunch or breakfast for locals. If I was in the area (I live in NJ), I would stop by and have the food again. read more

It's just a diner, nothing fancy. And I do mean nothing lol. I don't remember why we stopped here. I think it was because 248 was so packed, you couldn't even park in the lot. So we back tracked to this place. I was a little bit skittish about eating here. It's really not an attractive place. But, it was virtually empty, so we knew we wouldn't have to wait long to eat. My french toast was actually really good. I mean, *really* good. I was surprised. Nothing remarkable about the sausage, because, well, it's sausage. But my scrambled eggs...ick. On top, they were very well done, like "dry" well done. But runny and undercooked on the bottom. Service was good. Our waitress was friendly, the woman working at the counter was friendly. In reading some of the other reviews, we didn't encounter any rudeness, etc. Oh..and the coffee was great. Not just tasted great, but the decanter or pot or whatever you want to call it, was left on the table. Sooooo happy about that. I *love* when a restaurant does that. Seeing the bottom of a coffee cup is a cardinal sin in my book, so this is such a thoughtful thing to do. Like I said, it's a hole in the wall diner. Probably wouldn't plan a trip to visit again, but it's not like it was a terrible experience. If I lived locally, I'd probably walk here for a cup of coffee on weekend mornings, and maybe an occasional breakfast. read more

When we arrived about 4 tables were occupied, there was one clean table and all the remaining tables had leftover food on them; customers had left. I ordered eggs benedict. The egg and sauce were good, but the sauce looked curdled and the muffin the egg was served on was nearly impossible to cut through. We were not asked if the food was ok, we were not offered additional coffee. In the time we were there, two groups of patrons left because there was no place for them to sit and another man sat at a dirty table waiting to be served for about 20 minutes. The hash brown potatoes were hard, but yet not overcooked; seemed dry and like they'd be previously cooked and maybe microwaved. We will not return. read more

Friendly diner just north of 22 on 25th (rt 248). The food is typical diner food, but well executed. I had the Biscuits w/ Sausage Gravy and they were quite good. Service was spot on (although we were there on a slow morning), and they left us a pot of coffee to refill as we needed. The muffins were day old and dry, but that was the only bad experience we had. 4 stars easily. Yay! I'm a fan! read more

I kid you not .. I woke up wanting some cream chipped beef on rye toast. And it was awesome at the diner! My fiancé got the eggs Benedict and he loved it. Food was fast and hot. Server was nice lady. Close by too, which was a plus. And they were the only ones open before 8 AM. read more

I'm mainly writing this review for the service. The staff was so sweet and brought cookies over for our kids, packed our leftovers up and threw in so extra bread and stuff. Service you do not see anymore. We are diner fanatics and we grew up in Jersey. This is an old school diner, no frills just food and friendly service. The kid where they will remember you. I will say the food is just ok. Could use a little work but not horrible. And all the arrangements on the tables are for sale! Give it a try! read more

Went here when our usual diner was packed. The food was good for the price we paid and we enjoyed it. The place is small, and feels very comfortable. Service was excellent, and diner is located very close to the mall. Went for the breakfast/brunch menu, but will definitely be returning to see how the rest of the menu is. read more

Great turkey clubs and the best fries with gravy. If you are one of the rare people who like liver and onions this is the place for you. The diner food is good, typical diner food with a smattering of Greek specials. The service was friendly and efficient. As a small family diner it is a great place to take the kids. Rudest waitress ever. Fist i was placing my order for two sandwiches and she stopped me in the middle of the order and told me not asked to speak lower. She then took 3 tries to write my order (again 2 sandwiches to go). She repeatedly told me that there were 2 people in front of me (why). Gave her my card to pay, she again told me 2 people in front of me and rudely said she will be ack later for my card. Then took the card, packed my food in the bag, threw the bag at me and said nothing. I told her to have a good day anyway. Pretty bad when McDonald's has better service. NEVER going in their again. Palmer Diner is a traditional diner. It may not be much to look at and it is kinda tucked back next to a gas station and busy intersection but it is good food. I used to go to Diner 248 (which isn't really a diner) and then I went to Palmer Diner. The food was just as good and you got pretty decent portions. The main thing was my wife and I enjoyed to food, the service and the price was half of what it would have been at 248. Family friendly environment. Good food and the price is very reasonable. Learn to have patients since there is one cook so when it gets busy you may have to sit a bit longer but honestly the conversations are so worth it with other friendly customers and staff.
