Overall I was very happy with the surgery interactions and my boy is happy and healthy after his two visits. During the pre-surgery appointment, I was able to get vaccines updated and other bloodwork done. We also got set up with a micro ship to add for the surgery date. Hurray for fewer trips to the vet! Test results were sent to an app to view. Staff was very friendly and the facility was squeaky clean. My in person experience was lovely both times. Missing stars due to miscommunications below. There was a lack of communication about timing of pick up after surgery. I was told at drop off that I would receive a call with a pick up window in the afternoon since the surgeries end at different times and it wouldn't be before 2pm. Late afternoon, I got a call from them asking about my ETA because my dog was upset and they were waiting for me and wanted to check in on how soon I could get there. Since I hadn't received a call with a time to pick him up, I was an hour away and he had apparently been awake for quite some time already, stressed, and causing trouble. I was very frustrated with using their pharmacy to order preventatives due to a large surprise charge and confusion about dosages. During my first visit, I was sent home with an initial supply of flea/tick/heartworm pills for my dog and told that he should be taking 2 per dose instead of 1 because of his weight. So when I went online to order more a few months later, I ordered 2 boxes of the same preventatives knowing I was told to double dose. BUT then my credit card was charged $157 more than my order. That's a huge difference! Turns out that they added another box of preventatives at a smaller dose to my order to match his weight. I never received a call or email about this addition to my order and wouldn't have bought 2 of the original box if that was the case. I instead received a huge surprise charge and then was worried that I had been overdosing my dog for 3 months since it didn't match what I was given at the first appointment.

We didn't have any guidance for the ongoing care of the dog and the leg. He reviewed previous x-rays, clinic notes and took new x-rays to make sure the pin in the bone was in place and the leg was healing correctly. He checked her out, gave me good information on future care, gave her 1 parvo shot and that was great. His staff, Karen and Tracy were very nice, took an interest in our case and took an interest in my dogs history thru abandonment, leg break, shelter and adoption. First impressions were very good.

Together, we've solved allergy issues, dental cleaning and extraction, UTIs, and for cases that were more serious, they have referred me to MedVet. They work very well with MedVet and share files and information freely, so that it really feels as if you have a team of professionals helping you look after your pet. It's a great group of people to have on your team and I'm grateful to have them!

My entire family takes their pets here and we have for years. Mostly there are small dogs (Bostons)…read moreand cats. We have always had very attentive care and vets that will go above and beyond for our pets. When I'm cleaning up after my in-laws completely blind and incontinent dog, I start wonder if they're keeping them alive a little TOO long. They take a couple hour break mid-day from 2-4, but they also stay open till 8pm M-Th, and are open on Saturdays, too. So overall their hours are great, as long as your vet emergency doesn't happen during that break time! They have separate areas for cats and dogs to wait and their exit and entrance doors are separated as well. This means that altercations between animals are unlikely. In fact, I've never seen one. We briefly tried another vet that was closer to home, but they seemed more interested in selling us extra procedures instead of helping our cats. Not so at Lawrenceburg!

The office manager, Tessa, was rude, dismissive, and unnecessarily argumentative from the beginning. She blamed me for not discussing a prescription my dog has been taking for years, despite the fact that the new doctor never asked about it at our last appointment. She was extremely disrespectful toward me, and even hung up on my mother during an earlier conversation. I understand offices get busy, but there is absolutely no excuse for treating clients this way. We should be able to advocate for our pets without being blamed, talked down to, or hung up on. Very disappointing experience and we will be following Dr. O to Harrison.
