My son was 10 and my daughter 13 their first summer at Camp Cheerio. They both had a wonderful time and will return this summer for two weeks. We chose Camp Cheerio because both my husband and his mother had attended this camp and had good memories. Also, the price is reasonable compared to some other sleep-away programs we've checked out. The cost per kid is $2,060.00 for two weeks. The shorter one got a $50.00 sibling discount. We just filled out the kids activity forms for this summer and they have so many programs to choose from. My son loves outdoor stuff so he has hiking as his first choice and my daughter is into horses at the moment and is looking forward to riding. The mountain setting is idyllic and the bunks and facilities look clean and well maintained. My daughter the foodie said the food was excellent. All of the counselors were welcoming and smiling. Weird experience being from New York and South Florida but I guess people actually are friendly in other places. The camper check in program ran smoothly. Every day was an adventure for him. The daily activities are imaginative and thoughtful. One week, they took to the kids to dance with African performers and had scientist visit the camp to demonstrate various chemical reactions. When they took the children to the pool, they made sure that the kids were well supervised with extra staff. My child learned and played through the summer with wonderfully supportive staff and kind children. It is a warm and homey environment. You can tell that they truly love children. The summer flew by. That being said, Carolina Elite Trampoline is hands-down the best we've landed at thus far, and worth every single penny. Every instructor is highly skilled, most holding State, Regional, US and/ or International medals in Trampoline & Tumbling (T&T) Gymnastics. These are the people you want training your kids, folks. Class sizes are small (currently 6 or less students per class), with multiple classes offered daily throughout the week (with the exception of Sundays). Classes are categorized as "Jumpers" (trampoline based), or "Tumblers" (tumbling based), and broken down by age groups. Classes offered are recreational, however once requisite skills are attained, students have the opportunity to try out for their elite team, which is their competitive team which travels to compete against other athletes on the State, National and International levels.
