I had a table of four, with family visiting from different parts of the country, and it was everyone's first time dining here. Jasmine immediately made us feel right at home. She gave us a full rundown of the menu and took the time to ask if there were any questions or anything that needed clarification. That level of attention really set the tone for the entire experience. Russell also joined the party with a perfectly timed check-in. He made sure everything was going well, asked if we needed anything, and personally brought out our food. Once the dishes hit the table, the conversation literally stopped -- everyone was too busy being silenced by the incredible flavors of the food! The energy of the restaurant was lively without ever feeling overwhelming. The service was attentive without being intrusive, the atmosphere was inviting, and the food absolutely delivered. Every single person at the table walked away feeling completely satisfied. For a group experiencing the restaurant for the first time, this was an incredible introduction. Brunch was understood here. The French toast was very nice and not heavy despite its massive quantity. The flavors complimented each other all the way until the last bite. The Montecristo sandwich was balanced savory and sweet flawlessly. This was a hearty selection and could be shared with two. The cheese grits had to be made by someone's grandma IYKYK. The cowboy bacon I could just have a tray of it as it was a flavor bomb covering heat, sweet, salty, savory, and smokey. The staff was super friendly and accommodating working as a team. The table next to me was promptly provided with hot fries upon request due to the original order being "cold". A few minutes passed by and boom hot fresh fries. I had no clue about village and the assortment of shops and restaurants. I'm super happy I stumbled across it and found the hidden gems. They nailed it. 4.8 out of 5

The bartenders know what they are doing and are super professional, but probably are not trying to listen to your life story. You're also probably not going to meet new people here. It's not that kind of vibe. Basically, this is an upscale cocktail lounge, not Cheers (or Fraziers). And it is a very good one. The lighting is really really low towards the back end of the bar, but to the front where they have the TV there's always something interesting. This is a must visit for anyone that is local or visiting, and hopefully the staff is friendlier this time.

The bartender looked at her and said "sugar" then rolled her eyes so hard I'm surprised they didn't get stuck in the back of her head. I understand being over your job, but my friend did nothing wrong. Was not rude, and in return got spoken to like a child. I don't know what the chip on this person's shoulder was, but if you absolutely HAVE to to be vile to everyone you speak to, try a back of the house position because you are actively damaging your bar's reputation.

The bartender was solo up until it turned into a cash bar -- she was working really hard! The music was at a great volume, and food was being passed around regularly. It's really a great space for having a private party. And on top of that, while it can fill up quickly, there's free street parking outside. I do wish the bathroom was lockable -- the stall within there is, but otherwise things could get awkward. Pro tip -- it's behind the stage.

!!! They're currently under investigation for racial bias and misconduct by the civil rights division of the Justice Department.!!! The manager literally yelled and cursed at ( unbeknownst to him ) a group of professional (including dr's, professors and pastors) because they chose to pay a complete tip in cash and because there wasn't a tip on the check the waiters complain to the the manager... which then....without explanation or clarity....went storming out of the back yelling and addressing the party as "... you people.." and screaming that they had to leave because they did not tip...... !!! Not knowing that two of the persons in the party works closely for the govern and one for the for the civil rights division of the justice department... a professor, a doctor.. amongst other professionals. This was a very sad story on a young mans Birthday.... With a addition to the actual incident.. and the investigation pending ..... I would strongly encourage everyone not to condone and finance this kind of behavioral injustice . read more

I absolutely love this place! Mt. Washington Tavern has been a go-to spot for me for years. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the environment is consistently clean, warm, and inviting. It's the kind of place where you can unwind after a long day or catch up with friends over good food and drinks. I recently visited with a colleague after work. She had the rockfish tacos, and let's just say--those didn't stand a chance! I opted for the soft crab sandwich, which was plated beautifully, but unfortunately, it was too greasy for my taste and left me a bit disappointed. That experience knocked a star off for me this time. Despite that, I still highly recommend Mt. Washington Tavern. I've enjoyed many of their other entrees on previous visits--steak, various salads, and especially their chicken sandwich (which sadly is no longer on the menu--please bring it back!). Overall, it's a great spot with a solid track record, and I'll definitely continue to return. read more

All I have to say is WOW this place was just awful! We went to celebrate my husbands birthday with family. The service we received was just horrendous! Everything took forever. In fact for 9 of us to eat dinner it took 2.5 hours! We were incredibly disappointed. The food was "okay, certainly not great" and it took forever to come out. The drink service was even worse! I think the worst part was when we were trying to pay the bill. It sat on our table forever. We even told the hostess that if someone doesn't come soon we'll just leave. We even asked for a manger to come by our table to get the bill. We were told that a manger would come by very soon, but that never happened. The icing on the cake was to tell us "we don't do anything for birthdays, but here is the dessert menu". WOW!!!!! Seriously. I mean you can't even give him a scoop of ice cream! My husband and I hosted our son and his then fiancé' Rehearsal Dinner in the Mt. Washington Tavern Pimlico Room in mid August. With the expert and attentive assistance of Mary Booker, the restaurant's Event Planner, we had a fabulous evening for over 70 guests. Mary helped us plan the event from beginning to end with great advice and food/beverage options. The food was delicious and varied. Staff was attentive and thoughtful. Any requests we had for seating arrangements, special desserts and table for escort cards were honored without flaw. We had many compliments on the evening from family and friends and our son and daughter in law were thrilled. The Pimilico Room is one of the largest closed rooms for private parties in the area and is bright, classy and welcoming. It was a perfect selection for us. read more

Great time at " The Tavern " as we call it the other night. Nate was a great bartender my wife wanted me to point that out lol. The Grilled Cheese Sandwich was not what I expected and blew me away. I'm a creature of habit and don't give out 5 Stars unless it's earned. The upstairs is amazing and gives a beautiful view of downtown Mt. Washington. It's hard to imagine how far the restaurant has come since we used to come here in college. My wife and I loved seeing that they kept the shuffle board that used to be there from back in the day. Bottom line we loved the visit and plan on coming back next month. A word of recommendation if you can sit upstairs do it as the view is pretty killer. read more

Our friend recommended we come here tonight and we gave him so much grief over it because the reviews are TERRIBLE. We arrived with low expectations and we were pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere was beautiful, and the service was great! We sat at the bar and Kathy was our bartender. She was so pleasant and friendly. And the food was delicious. We got Santa fe egg rolls, rockfish entree, Caesar salad and bacon wrapped scallops. ALL FANTASTIC! I wish I remembered to take pictures but we all dove in as soon as it was placed in front of us. Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. Ordered the fried green tomatoes with crab- superb. I got the beet salad and added grilled shrimp and had the wasabi dressing. It was awesome, but the shrimp were overcooked. My bf got the softshell crab sandwich and he loved it. We sat in the outdoor/atrium area which was nice, but could use some TLC and a little makeover. We each got a beer and it took about five minutes for the waitress to tell me she was out of the beer I ordered, and then about 15 more before I actually got the beer I re-ordered. Absolutely Devine!!!! I had not been to the Tavern since before it burned down and we were finally in the area grocery shopping last night, and we stopped in for dinner. Thankfully we were pleasantly surprised. I had the cream of crab soup, which was rich and full of crab and the sesame crusted rare tuna as my meal. Seared perfectly with just the right slaw and soy sauce. My husband had the chicken piccata and he said it was delicious. The atmosphere was nice and quiet and we felt very comfortable and cozy! Waitress Penny gets the star for being pleasant and attentive. What a change from my review from 6/2/25. When we lived in Parkville, the family ate there several times with no complaints, but times and turnover seem to have taken its toll. The delicious Reuben I had my last visit is no longer on the menu.

We were meeting very good friends and were excited to spend some time together. The decor was so fun and the place was hopping. Even though all of the staff seemed to be extremely busy, we were allowed to wait for a table that would seat us comfortably while being a bit out of the way of the hubbub. The redone U-shaped bar area is very large with plenty of seating at the bar and around it. There are multiple long, high top tables too. The other side of the restaurant is filled with booths and tables with plenty of room to accommodate any size party. I saw tables that fit at least 10 people there. There is also an outdoor area that is under construction, but looks like it will be a very nice addition to the bar. Now on to the food and the drinks. They had so many specials for St. Patrick's Day and a large variety of them too rather than just the typical corned beef and cabbage or Ruben's. They had lots of other Irish delicacies like shepherds pie, and bangers and mash. They had all kinds of drink specials, including green margaritas, Guinness, and lots of other fancy drinks to choose from. They have plenty of beers on top and basically a full bar where you can get anything to wet your whistle. I had a two guys burger, which was basically a bacon cheeseburger, and it was cooked to perfection (not to mention it was probably close to a half pound of ground beef on that burger) along with some fries and a salad. My friend had a Reuben, which she thought was very good. My husband who loves hot turkey sandwiches ended up getting one of those and a side salad too. It was made with fresh turkey and we all know how that kicks it up a notch. Other friend got the meatloaf, which was good, but there was cheese on top and he wasn't a big fan of that. They have daily specials with lots to choose from. We had the $1 wings and were delighted with the many choices of sauces. There were so many customers coming in constantly for their carry out, too. Everything was fresh. The prices were great. Everything was very tasty and the atmosphere was fun without being too noisy. We can't wait to go back and try it again soon.

For the mimosas, we did the "buy the carafe and the bottle", with a carafe of cranberry juice and a bottle of Cava Prosecco. I loved that we were able to select WHICH bubbles we wanted and for two people it worked out very well price wise. The host (tall guy with a mohawk) and our server (Robyn) were absolutely fantastic. Personable and friendly and very attentive, very much able to answer any questions we had (THANK YOU ROBYN!!!). In short - this place is a gem and yall should go! Be mindful of the parking in the area, but dont let that stop you from a delicious meal in a lovely setting!!

Unfortunately, they brought my salad after my shrimp salad; I would have liked it before. The food is always delicious here. The noise level really took down our dining pleasure.
