It's not even pouring outside now and the 6 bus that I just got off of (number 370; driver was rude too) around 9:55 in the Getty Square... The bus was leaking water from its roof where I was sitting in the front, several times throughout the end of my ride. Not just once or twice. It attracted the attention of other passengers. What an EMBARRASSMENT! Do better, Beeline Bus and Westchester County! Bring back the older buses. Quit fixing stuff that ain't broke! The newer look ain't always cooler or better!! Aaaand the driver let one or two passengers who got on at my stop at Broadway and Cedar St (Dobbs Ferry) ride without paying. Yet I paid my fare and he seemed to just want me seated ASAP WHEN I had a bag in my left hand. Daaaaaangerous. I slipped once last year on the bus, and the terrible County and Beeline never got back to me. If I didn't have to ride the Beeline bus, I never would ever!! Absolutely disgusting everything about it. That includes not being able to see outside the windows at night, clearly as well as the eye sore of 6 or 7 disability stickers plastered in the front, after how many years? Smh. Nobody wants to sit and stare at that obstructing their view for the duration of their ride! Smh.

It is an ADA compliant accessible station. In 2007, the MTA installedl faceted stained glass windows designed by New York artist Tomie Arai called "Back to the Garden," a nod to the Joni MItchell song lyrics about a more simpler life. You'll find among the floral one of the things I enjoyed the most - inset screened black & white historic photos of areas this White Plains Road Line passes through. Period images of The Grand Concourse, Prospect Avenue, the old subway entrance at East 149th Street, trollies along Third Avenue show how much the Bronx has changed. My favorite pic - the 1890 White Plains Road 2-story wooden Hotel W. Thwaite that also sold wines and lager beer! All in all, they add to this great public artwork, making it worth taking a closer look!

Average Metro North Train Station…read more Been using this location for my Metro North (Harlem Line) use since the late 80's. Not too much has changed other than some cosmetic differences on the platform. The best modification was the digital board they added with the schedule (Grand Central bound side only) - relying on the garbled speakers always sucked. At least the train fare went to something decent.....because it doesn't go to the actual rail service or their schedules. Inside is drab and blah. Sometimes it smells, sometimes it doesn't. I never bothered with the store/eatery inside or any of the overpriced vending machines. They have 2 ticket machines inside, but probably need 2 more since the IQ challenged sometimes tend to take a much longer time to operate the simple machine. There is a booth inside with an agent sometimes, but for anyone in the early morning or evening would be out of luck. There is some slight parking about a block from station, but the area isn't an area I'd want to leave a car at night. At night, sometimes shady characters can be inside or outside the station. During any time here, there are also some strange people.....but that's everywhere. There's one thin stairwell (one stairwell for each side) for exiting passengers and depending on how crowded the train is, it could be a few minutes before you can exit. There is a cab stand across the street and the cab drivers will be on top of most exiting train riders, but I guess it's their job. There's not much room for cars to wait for people they're picking up. There is the 7 bus across the street for the station - but much like the Metro North itself, the bus can be late at times. There are much better stations and much worse stations, but this isn't too bad.

The station is usually clean and has open seating. The only times I have complaints is during the winter when everyone is packed up in the main area which has an odor problem. They need to clean it up more often. The ticketing machines and schedules are often not working for some reason. There is no elevator for those who are unable to climb all the stairs.
