I have come by here several times for a quick Metro North ride downtown. It is much faster than the local train when going to Grand Central. However it is more expensive at $9.50 each way. The station is usually clean and has open seating. The only times I have complaints is during the winter when everyone is packed up in the main area which has an odor problem. They need to clean it up more often. The ticketing machines and schedules are often not working for some reason. There is no elevator for those who are unable to climb all the stairs. Otherwise it is a nice place to stop and catch a quick train into the city. read more

I know that's a low rating. The reason is - IT could use an ESCALATOR. NOT an ELEVATOR that WILL eventually become a urinal. It's the difference between the station platform (sea level) and street level elevation. Way up there on Broadway and 225th street. It's got to be about a four story climb! I was raised in the Bronx, so I'm used to walking up and down hills and climbing stairs. But I'm not a kid anymore. Imagine if you have a carry-on or some groceries with you? Oy! If, a big IF, Metro North reads any of these reviews; Please give it a thought. Maybe; if Mayor Eric Adams took public transportation, like millions of voters do. It would get fixed! read more

Dirty and often smell like urine.. Machines are often broken. No customer service staff available for assistance and not safe at all!!!!

I was waiting for the Metro North train to Tarrytown yesterday and let me tell you: That station is an awesome place to sit and read a book. It's free to wait on the platform, and it overlooks the Harlem River and the most uptown part of Manhattan: Inwood. Quite lovely. read more

Used to commute north via Marble Hill (#1 train from UWS to there, then north) for years. Long, cold/hot waits,uncomfortable walk up and down stairs from street to platform. Nothing special. read more

I love this station because it's cheap to get off at instead of paying extra going into Harlem or Grand Central. It's one platform that is conveniently right by the Harlem River. Very beautiful and peaceful especially on a sunny day. read more

This is a great station. The view is spectacular, you can see the river, park, and over to the Bronx. It seems very clean. I find it very safe for the ladys here as there is only one way in and out with a long staircase, making potential muggers think twice about an escape. The only nasty thing about it is that the weather shelter often smells of urine, but it is NYC so pretty much everything smells of urine. read more

This is one of my favorite stop of the Metro North in the Hudson line, because is near of the 1 train, they are very close to each other, you also can find a lot of bodegas, stores, even Starbucks and more. It's a very quite and peaceful stop, where you also can relax seeing the Hudson river while you are waiting for your train. This stop ends, on Poughkeepsie or Croton Harmon if you going to the north and Grand Central if you want to go to the city. read more

Whereas I haven't used this station, or Metro North for that matter, all too much but when I have it's been a very pleasant experience ... especially at this station. Right on the water, across from Inwood Hill Park, this station is clean, has seats for your wait and makes you feel like you're not in NYC anymore as it's hidden, down some steps, from "civilization". P.S. I also just found out recently that my dad's mom used to take the train from here to visit family up in Tarrytown decades ago, changing from the 1-train which is just a few blocks away ... small world. read more

Love this station and all the metro north stations in general Clean trains, comfortable seats, fast commute The only thing that takes away 1 star is two issues... the train almost always come right on time, so even if you are only 2 minutes late... OK make that 5 minutes but regardless of how many minutes you are late you have to wait an hour for the next train except for Grand Central. That is the ONLY time I miss public transit where the trains comes every 5 minutes Also, if you take this train during the weekends in the evenings, be prepared to deal with college kids boozing and being ... well noisy college kids lol It can get annoying after a long day at work but I can't hate them because I use to be one of them ahhh (the good old days) read more

Complaints that the MTA does not clean up trash and dog poop are nothing compared to my complaint . . . the MTA absolutely NEVER shovels the snow. It was a huge mess the other day. It's embarrassing, because clearly it is someone's job to do it, but all they do is remove snow on a tiny little section right in front of the door to the vestibule. A few years ago they moved the platform and stairs. The new platforms are nice, but the enclosure for the stairs and fare machines is already stinky and dingy. Why isn't it ever cleaned properly? Finally, the MTA should not get credit for the view, which is spectacular. read more

Every Saturday I wait for in this stop to go up to tarry town and I gotta say since this is the Bronx this station is much better than a lot if other stations in the Bronx and your looking across manhattan trees. It's a peaceful and quiet station just to relax and wait for your train to arrive to get your to your destination. read more

Very convenient for people travelling on the Hudson line from the west side of manhatten, this train station is right next to the 1 train at 225th street. Views are pretty great for a train station. Only complaint, the MTA really needs to cleanup this station! The tracks are lined with garbage/cans/bottles that have been there many months. read more

Thank the lord for this stop. I have gotten safely home from Manhattan when I've been tipsy for a mere $5.25. $3.00 city tickets on the weekend. Comfortable and clean. Love love love. read more

Nice View; however, they need to clean up the surrounding sidewalk. Too much Dog Poop. In France they hire people to do this and this alone. So you can't blame just the lazy dog owners that don't pick up. That is no excuse for a train station to not have a cleaning staff. It would be Nice if they kept the sidewalk free of Poop. read more

Lots of Grand Central-bound trains here (at least 2 per hour most times on weekends), and a relaxing view of the water. Only minus: very narrow platform, but that can't be helped. read more

One of my favorite stations. Got very busy for the last couple years. I guess more people work in uptown, moved to Westchester and work in the city or don't want to get off in Manhattan (because of the price for tickets down there). Easy connection to the 1 train or you can take a bus at the corner to get off on 207 and then take the A. The view on Hudson River is great. Sometimes you can see people riding jet ski, Columbia students kayaking (practicing with a coach) or even a full cruise tour with tourists around Manhattan. The bridge between the Bronx and Manhattan gives this station extra points. After 11pm (each day) you might see long trains full of garbage coming from NYC and so you can either smell it for 5 mins or go upstairs and wait. People complaining about cleanliness of this station are wrong. MTA workers do their job when you are not here and avoid rush hours not to bother passengers getting of the train. I've seen them flushing the station with water hose and taking out garbage. However there are piles of plastic garbage close to the tracks on croton bound side which is very dangerous and can cause the fire one day. They must clean it asap. read more
