I've been a huge Mucho Mas fan for years. Usually I visit the Laporte location, but I happened to be in Michigan City at lunch time so I ended up here. I've worked my way through the extensive menu and everything is wonderful. I've truly never had a meal here that hasn't been excellent. The Mucho Nachos with tofu are my absolute favorite. Today I enjoyed a taco salad, and truly this is the very best taco salad I have ever had. Service is always very friendly. The restaurant is attractively and uniquely decorated. I like my tacos a little saucier than they came (Cali style) but overall the flavor was good (one steak, one chicken). My husband liked the salsa he picked - he was glad it was legit spicy vs "Indiana spicy." Service was quick and friendly. The decor is fun- loved the inclusion of the South Shore train. The only awkward part was being asked if we wanted to leave a tip. Family and I are in the area visiting for the weekend and decided on Mexican. We came here based on the reviews from yelp and were not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious and filling. The service was fun and enjoyable. The front counter worker was polite and laid back and fun. It's a very open and inviting atmosphere. The only negative I observed was there is only one large table setting that is a high top and my dad is disabled and couldn't sit there. What happened to this place?! I've been enjoying the MC location since it opened but the last 5 visits have been horrible. The place is quite dirty. What used to taste fresh and clean now taste like it's all cooked in meat grease. Maybe the grill isn't cleaned regularly and that's why? Dunno. Wow, wow, wow!!! I had Mucho Mas in the summer of 2021. I had an ant on my food (not from the kitchen but I assume from the door always been open and crumbs drop on the floor. (it happens)). Anyway, I asked the young lady (I do not know her name but she had, I think red or brown hair, she is short and so sweet!!!) if there was a vegan option for the new Al Pastor torta. I never had Al Pastor when I did eat meat and I was skeptical of spending my money on something with plant based meat. (hit or miss honestly). She told me it was sweet and tangy and had DAIYA DAIRY FREE CHEESE, I almost lost it. Girl, take my whole card. I got it. She asked if I wanted to add a drink, ugh, you want all of my money?? Heck yeah I want a drink. She was eager to tell me more about the apple juice soda and I got that and this beautifully descriptive vegetable soup. (soup girls). She wanted my opinion on it once I ate it. I pay, tip her, my friend orders. He loved his food but this is about my experience and food so yeah. Anyway, the soup? I couldn't wait to try this place, any Nachos that are served on a pizza platter I'm in. The Nachos were so good, and the toppings were just not on top. There was toppings all the way to the bottom just perfect. This was the only thing we had here is the reason for the 4, but all food looked delicious. Next time we are up in this area would definitely try a few other items. This place gets very busy, which also tells you that the food is fresh and good. We were very pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! It's more of a quick-serve restaurant, so you order at the counter and then sit down, they bring the food to you and that's that! The interior is cute, well-designed, there are quite a few tables and a center high top counter seating as well. I didn't see more traditional non-alcoholic drinks, like horchata or aguar, but they had a good variety of other types of drinks. Fountain drinks, margaritas, mixed drinks, canned and glass sodas. The food was surprisingly tasty, and their sauces were also good additions. Their menu caters to a wide variety of palettes/preferences. So you can order their chicken burrito and have good flavor without much spice, but you could also just use their salsas, their limes, etc to spice things up. Their salsa bar is also well stocked with different salsas, onions/cilantro, lime wedges, pickled jalapenos, pickled veggies. We got a couple chicken burritos, a couple Fresh burritos, a couple Mucho burritos, and they were all delicious! They all came with chips, although it wasn't that large of a serving, it was just enough. And I believe if you're dining in, you're allowed free chip refills?
