I drive by all the time but never stop so today I decided to check it out. I got a steak quesadilla. It threw me off when they asked what I wanted on it but ok. I got steak, cheese (duh), onion and cilantro, mild sauce on the side. It was great. There was more steak than cheese. It actually could've had a little more cheese, but it was still really good. Easily the go to taco spot in MC or New Buffalo. The food is always fresh and fantastic.

I grabbed a couple of pork tacos and really enjoyed them. The meat was flavorful and had those crispy bits that I love in carnitas. Toppings were fresh and not overdone, which let the pork shine. The green salsa was so good I asked for extra. The place was clean and had a chill atmosphere. Service was fast and friendly even though they were kind of busy. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in the area. read more

I checked my bag before leaving to make sure the order was correct & of course, it wasn't. The jalapeños I paid for were missing, and the cashier actually demanded to inspect my bag as if I were lying. Completely unprofessional. Save yourself the trouble and go to Taco Bell instead. read more

I've never been disappointed in the 7 years that I have been eating there! My favorite is the steak quesadilla. The steak is always juicy, tender and delicious! I can't even say that about any other restaurant that I've been going to over the years. I can also say that every time that I've gone there the employees have been awesome and professional. Anything less than 5 stars is BS. If you have a problem with how your order was executed just say something. The food is fantastic. Sometimes orders get messed up. Restaurants like Rios make hundreds of orders every day. Every once in a while a mistake may be made. We've been coming here for years and love the tacos. But yesterday we went and the whole staff was not wearing masks or gloves. When asked about this the order taker said "I always wear one when I'm talking with customers. She didn't see the contradiction in her own statement - here she is telling a customer she wears a mask when talking to customers while not wearing a mask. Needless to say we left and found another place where it's taken more seriously. read more

We were just passing through town and actually headed toward Chipotle when we saw Rio's. We got tacos, a burrito and a quesadilla and some green hot sauce. Everything was amazing. I have never had corn tortillas that tasted this good. I wish I lived closer to Michigan City so I could come back. if i could do zero stars i would... first i had my coworker get everyone food and on a good note whoever made the ticket did great the slip was correct but whoever made the food was absolutely incorrect... four out of my 6 tacos were wrong . my cheese was super sloppy. i called to address that my food was messed up and the service over the phone was terrible, the lady wouldn't let me speak she kept talking over me i asked to speak to a manager she wouldn't pass the phone and kept talking. at the end of the day 30$ wasted on sloppy food. read more

Aside from the staff being rude and disrespectful, the tortillas are soggy and mush and the food isn't even that good for what I paid. 1 taco is 350 all cause you get an extra tortilla ? Bogus. Rios asked for Yelp reviews, well here's mine. I drove 17 miles from Valparaiso because I love Rios salsa and had a taste for tacos. Simple order: Two chicken tacos on corn tortillas with everything, chips and salsa. I repeated 3 times! Drove up to the window where the girl informed me that they don't have corn. Seemed odd, but I said skip the tacos as I only like corn tortillas. She said they have those. OK whatever. I repeat my order, 2 chicken tacos with everything on corn tortillas. Chips and salsa. Drive all the way back to Valspo. I did get chicken tacos on corn tortillas, but nothing else on them...NADA! I don't think my order was complicated or exotic. I am not happy at all! read more

If you want delicious Mexican food, go somewhere else. If you want to pay a lot for a stomach ache, go to Rios in Michigan City. Options are limited in town if you want drive-thru mexican food, so my wife and I decided to go to her long time favorite, Rios. The first thing we noticed was the menu had changed dramatically. It has been simplified to something resembling a Chipotle or Qdoba. Taco $3, Quesadilla $5, Burrito $8. Then you choose the meat and other ingredients. Sides are $2. Drinks are $2. All prices include tax. I got a steak Burrito with chips, salsa and a drink...that's $14. My wife got a burrito and a drink, bringing our total to $24. The chips were ok. The Burrito didn't really taste like anything. The beans were refried. The salsa was alright. The best part of my meal was the Coke, and they couldn't even handle "no ice". Their PoS is an iPad and Square that they pass you to sign , and it asks if you want to leave a tip (for drive-thru). To compare, Chipotle's burrito is about $8 (after tax), but their chips and salsa together are $2, and you get a large drink for $2 (including ice-free refills). OVERALL Service 3/5 Taste 2/5 Value 1/5 Either go to Chipotle and get better food for a few dollars less, or go to Taco bell and get equally awful, stomach-ache inducing garbage for a whole lot less money. read more

Food is good and seems to be authentic Mexican, but pricey and seems to take a while to get it. A typical 'meal deal' is $9.00 or more. Tuesdays & Thursdays would be a good time to get tacos as they're 99c. Good selection of hot sauces. Still no comparison to my favorite Mexican fast food place of Del Taco. read more

So, my husband saw their 20 $1 taco deal on their sign while we were out doing errands one day. He wanted to try it and since today is new years eve I though well, heck, why not? I am so glad I did I mean I was twenty minutes away and they were still cool with me placing an order even though they were set to close at 2:30pm. The folks on the phone were super friendly. I had no idea what to expect from the food. The tacos were slightly smaller than I expected but omg are they DELICIOUS I chose the chicken tacos myself and I could probably eat all twenty on my own. Unfortunately, I have to share them with family but I suppose it's better I don't get sick and die from taco over dose. The chips are just fabulous. You can tell that they're freshly made and this burrito is gigantic. I look forward to seeing my husband happily chowing down on this behemoth of a burrito. I used to think Rios was good but they have proven to be nothing more than an establishment concerned with rewarding ignorance. Not only was the mediocre tex-mex shawarma mess cold but the employee completely goofed on my fiancés order. When we tried to return the pitiful mistake of a meal they responded with "My glands are swelling, please go home". Stopped in while visiting the outlet mall and was impressed with the food. It was delicious, prepared quickly and 100% worth the straight forward costs. First driving into the parking lot of Rio's, I was a little taken back by the restaurant. It looks old and has definitely seen its wear and tear. Naturally, I opted to take the drive through and ordered lots of food. The staff handled my huge order professionally and got the meal out quick. I took it home and couldn't believe how good the food was for the quick service. I personally ordered four steak burritos. I really enjoyed how the cheese was melted on top of the taco. What made this meal was the mild hot sauce they gave me. It added just the right amount of spiciness to my taco. Overall, I would recommend this quick meal to anyone, but if you are looking for a sit down meal... I don't think this place fits you. read more
