There was only a couple people in the store but apparently this one woman and her playing everywhere very loud children were exceptionally important because no one else could get help as the staff all chatted with her about the cat climbing structure she was purchasing. I stood waiting with the other 3 people until she finished talking to her husband to apparently get his approval because we were all not getting helped until the staff was done listening so we all listened. They didn't carry the larger size of the Sojos grain free base mix, so they special ordered it for us & texted when it came in. The free treat samples are really helpful to test if my dog likes and can eat something before committing to a whole bag. And again they have lots of grain free options like dried sweet potato, salmon skin, lamb lung. They also have some feed & treats for chickens & other small animals. This is not my neighborhood store, but I'm glad I checked this one out anyway! The staff, as usual, were nice even though I was there to see Felines First Rescue (adoption event). I did some window shopping, and loved what they had available. I think they might even have a better selection than my local Mud Bay! They had some items I had never seen/heard of before, but definitely interested in buying (ModMong Engaser laser, and an upgraded stainless steel version of my cat water fountain). Also I loved how they demo the cat litter brands they carry!! Soooo informative. They have pans out filled with the different cat litters (pine, clay, etc.) and they let you demo it by providing fake cat urine to see how the litter actually holds up. This place is the best. High end pet store with competitive pricing. They take a lot of time and care making sure their products are healthy and good for pets. We buy all our cats food here and have since realized that it is the cheapest place for the brand we buy. The staff is always super nice and helpful. Went here a couple weeks ago after a friend recommended I check it out. My (at the time) 7 month old puppy needed a new harness and the employee working there suggested the wonder walker and let me tell you... It is life changing! He sat down on the floor with my dog and adjusted the harness to fit him comfortably and let me walk him around the store to try it out. We're compelled to write this review because of the exceptional customer service we received on a recent visit. Our senior cat has been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and was placed on a vetinary's prescription diet. After only a handful of days, our cat was no longer eating the presribed canned food. We panicked because she wasn't at all interested in eating any more. We researched other options on-line for diets for CKD cats & learned that we needed to find low-phosphorous & highly moist food. Several higher-end brands inccluded a variety of options that we could try on our cat. We then researched where we could find the food nearby since we didn't want to wait to order on-line since our cat needed to start eating again immediately. . Fortunately, this Mud Bay location recently opened in our neighborhood and we knew that they carried several of the labels that we saw in our research. We went into the store and explained our dilemma to Katie, one of the employees working at the time. Before we could finish, Katie walked us over to several of the brands that we had seen on-line, and others that she recommended that we hadn't seen. Katie then took the time to explain other options as well, including some raw food alternatives. Katie mentioned the store's policy of allowing customers to take 3 cans of food as a trial with their pets (at no charge). So, we selected a variety of brands and took them home. Our cat has taken to several of the brands/flavors of food that Katie recommended and is eating more now than ever before. She has gained weight and is no longer lethargic. She appears healthier and is super active again. We are so happy!! We owe this amazing turn-around for our cat to Katie and Mud Bay. Katie was so enthusiastic, informed, concerned, caring and focused on helping us find a solution. To say that she provided us with excellent customer service would be an understatement. If she is a representative of this exceptional store, everyone should visit Mud Bay for their own pets!!! read more
