This is one of the best businesses I've ever used. They have a great selection and wonderful customer support/service.

It hurts me to say this, because I've been such a big fan of this place for so many years, but they definitely have gone downhill imo. What's the difference now vs then? Then: Really friendly service. Prior to the pandemic, a visit would include a familiar greeting, asking me if they could help me find anything, and at checkout would ask me if I had trouble finding anything, or have a "file" for rewards etc. More than often also some friendly banter about cats or new foods that they have etc. They would also do nice things like count up some dis-similar flavors of the same brand and see if they could offer me a "full-case-rate", by perhaps me buying one of two other cans etc. Not to mention that they had a much better stock of frozen raw cat food that my cats like. Also since I was often buying large amounts of cat food, they'd usually offer boxes to carry it all in. Now: Rarely a greeting, never an offer to help either on entrance or at checkout. Now I feel like they're doing me a big favor by offering me a paper bag to carry $100 worth of heavy canned foods in. Heck, a couple of times I've been there, they'll be chatting away with someone else, even while checking me out, effectively blowing me off (are you actually *trying* to piss me off?). Honestly, based on customer interaction alone, they should get a one-star review, but I still go there for some of their unique offerings, and unmatched selection of high-end cat food, which they fortunately still have, plus I have such a long history with this place, all of this really hurts. I'm glad that they survived the pandemic, and know that, that must have been really brutal, but now they have a ways to go to get back to where they were in my eyes, with strong competition around the area. I hope they're able to make it! But they are trending the wrong direction! read more

After years of using online fresh food service for my best doggie friend I was so impressed by the quality and selection at Healthy Pet. The staff is amazing! Every time I have had questions they go above and beyond to find what I have been looking for or suggested something comparable and sometimes even better than I expected. They have great selection, prices and do special orders if they don't have items in stock. Definitely a business I will continue to shop at for years to come. read more

I've been a customer of this local pet supply store for nearly five years. They carry the harder to find, higher quality food brands for cats and dogs. Prices are fair. The staff is always friendly and consistent. Always the same girls (very low turnover if any since I've been coming here). They all work as though they are owners, which makes for excellent customer service and product knowledge. I drive out of my way to get here because they've always been nice, knowledgeable and treat me like they appreciate my business. read more

Staff is wonderful. Always a smile. I really like that if you want an opinion, they are not shy about giving info but if you don't need an opinion, they do not force one onto you. My two dogs (Coonhound and Bullmastiff) love going to the store because they get treats just for being cute. read more

After trying another smaller pet store a few times and not being able to get the products I needed, i started a new search and found Healthy Pet. Sure I have to go an extra exit down the freeway, but the employees are super nice and helpful and they have a great selection of raw foods in stock. Not just patties, tubes and large nuggets, but they have tiny quarter ounce nuggets that are perfect for feeding my tiny dogs with. So far the poodles have eaten their way through the beef and lamb. We have bison in the freezer. They can't wait. read more

I am glad I stumbled upon this pet store. I usually go to Petco in Tigard area during lunch to get some necessities for my bunnies but they don't carry Oxbow brand for food pellets. I was looking for any pet stores closer to my work and this came up. I called them to see if they carry any small animals food and they do! Granted there's not a huge selection for small animals, but they have oxbow and few other brands (It looks like they have few things for rabbits, chinchilllas, and hamster). The staff are nice and helpful and wouldn't mind helping you order things that you need if they don't have it. read more

Great local store with a really awesome selection of pet toys, food, supplies, etc. I'm actually bummed I didn't discover this place sooner. But the staff was friendly and they're one of the few places that carries my cat's food. The dog toy selection is nice and reasonably priced, which is great for my girlfriend's dog. Since my initial visit, I've returned twice. I will keep going, and I highly recommend this place. read more

I have been to Healthy Pet many times. I keep trying to give them a plus review. And every time is a let down. Here are my concerns: I would like to have an adult salesperson with some knowledge help me. I would like to have confidence I can pick up a can or bag of cat food and it has not exceeded the expiration date. I would like to see the employee not put the expired bag of cat food back on the shelf for someone else to purchase. I like to keep local but not at the expense of my kitties health! read more

I've been to Healthy Pet a couple times but lately I feel as if my times here are starting to become a let down. The saleswomen on the floor usually do not know what they are talking about when I ask them a question and will give me very vague answers. However, I'm glad that they have a variety of pet foods here so I hope the customer service is just a temporary bump in the road. read more

We were happy to find this store, and four years on we still love shopping here. They have a great selection of cat food and are constantly working to expand their offerings. They now carry more raw food, always had grain free etc. Prices are reasonable. They also almost always have cats up for adoption. They don't sell them but charge a small fee, just like the Humane Society does, for getting vet checkups etc before putting the animals up for adoption - I've seen their staff at my veterinarian. And you can tell they really care about the cats, they make a point of knowing their stories and their personalities, to ensure the right person adopts the cat/kitten. Overall the service is personable and there is indeed little staff turnover so it's nice to see the same faces. I really recommend this neghborhood shop over the over-priced, impersonal giants like PetCo. read more

I try to shop local whenever I can...been buying special cat food at the neighborhood store Healthy Pet for years. Didn't even price check because I wanted to support the local business. However today when I stopped in to buy a bag I was asked if I knew about the customer appreciation sale on Saturday. I said I would be out of town and wondered if they'd extend the discount today. I was told in a very terse way that "that wasn't possible because they'd lose money." Well I get they have rules but there was no attempt to acknowledge that they really cared about me as a loyal customer. So I got online in the parking lot and found I could have the same $62 bag of cat food shipped to my door for $52! Guess I'm not shopping local there anymore! read more

I just recently discovered this location and I wish I went to it sooner! I am a huge MudBay fan and I'm so happy to have found another pet store similar. I love their chews selection, they are the only store I have found that has quality hooves for my dog to chew on (My dog is a picky chewer and will only chew on these.) They also have an awesome selection of dog food that is not only well stocked but of great quality. I am very picky about what food my dog eats, and I approved of almost every food brand I spotted there. I found a lot of things that I was looking for that I couldn't find elsewhere. The employees are also really helpful and sweet. Overall, I really recommend this store! read more

This is a fantastic pet store. It appears small from the front but it is quite big once you are inside. They had a great selection of dog products, which is a huge selling point for someone that spoils their pet as much as I do. Additionally they had a variety of dry and frozen foods. They didn't carry the frozen food I buy, but they offered to order it for me! In addition to their great selection, I noticed their prices were reasonable as well. The staff was welcoming and helpful, and went out of their way to make our experience great. We will definitely be regulars! read more

I have been going to the store for many years now. I have always received the best care and I have found the staff to be very knowledgeable and helpful. I love going here, they always ask about my pets and want to know if they're doing well. I was also to referred to a very good holistic pet vet that I have gotten great help from.they can also order in special pet foods if you have those kinds of needs.I was having to get special pet food from the veterinarian and Healthy Pet was able to order something very similar at a much better price! read more

I have been a customer of this Healthy Pet in Lake Oswego for a few years now and I will have to say the customer service from everyone who works there is amazing. They are knowledgeable about their products and are always very helpful with any questions that I have. They are constantly working at keeping the store neat and easy to shop which I appreciate since I am there all the time. I highly recommend coming here to do your pets shopping. :-) read more

I work in the pet industry and the markup here on the majority of their items is pretty steep. I'd go there in a pinch bc it's so close to my house but overall I wasn't impressed. There's also tons of staff sitting around chatting and laughing with each other instead of actually working. As much as I hate chains, Mudbay looks like it will be my new go-to. I was certainly expecting a cute store with unique items, based on the reviews,and I was sadly disappointed. read more
