I only discovered it myself after picking her up. When you leave your pet in the care of a facility, you expect close supervision and immediate communication if something is wrong. Cherry eye is not something minor, it's a visible eye condition that requires attention, especially for breeds that are already prone to eye problems. The most concerning part of this situation was the lack of notification. As a pet owner, I should have been informed right away so I could make decisions about her care. Daycare staff are responsible for monitoring the dogs and reporting injuries or health concerns when they happen. That communication did not occur, and that breaks trust. I hope the facility improves its health monitoring and owner communication procedures, so this does not happen to another dog.

What's interesting is these techniques are relatively simple once they are explained. Michelle is very knowledgeable. She is always available through phone or email. She answers questions in simple and easy to understand terms. Michelle is patient and kind. She never makes me feel bad or stupid when asking questions. After the 1st session my husband and I began to see improvements in our dog's general obedience. Michelle has given me the hope for my dog. The icing on the cake was when our dogs came home, the one who was w other dogs got EXTREMELY sick and the other who was in private play caught the bug 24 hours later from the first. We know anxiety poops after change of scenery/boarding/etc. this was NOT that and our vet needed to prescribe antibiotics because it continued to last into a week and wasn't getting any better. I only discovered the injury after we got home. I understand that accidents can happen, but what I can't accept is the lack of communication and transparency. Over the next several days, Kahlo repeatedly shook her head because of the discomfort, causing the wound to reopen and bleed multiple times. I ultimately had to take her to the veterinarian, where she was diagnosed with acute moist dermatitis. This resulted in an unexpected vet bill that I was not in a position to afford. Had someone simply been honest about what happened and explained how to care for the injury, this experience would have been very different. Pet owners deserve clear communication when something goes wrong, and I hope PetSmart does a better job of being transparent in the future.

I even left work to get there during Yappy Hour. The second time I had an appointment for 1 of my dogs and was going to bring the other back when they were finished just to get her nails trimmed. I was told they wouldn't be able to get her in because they were booked... It states you provide WALK-IN services on the sign I just passed! Today the third attempt since they told me to try back during the week and today was Tuesday, I go in at 5:20pm and was meant by Andrienna who was quite rude and unforgiving. She made it clear that I had to make an appointment regardless of what your store sign states, and that they had already closed everything down and were leaving... EXTREMLY unprofessional and definitely not a customer service centered business. Again, no empathy, no apology, just attitude like I was disgusting her. DO BETTER PETSMART!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be reposting this to as many places as I can. UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Thank goodness I saw a post on NextDoor and Facebook about Abby Hutton and her pet sitting service, she was my Godsend!! We met her 3 days before my trip and my two dogs, 2 and 4 year old lapdog pits, took to her immediately and tried to cover her with kisses, I knew then and there she was the one. She came to our home 3 times each day, fed them, played/cuddled with them, took them out and, to my surprise, cleaned the yard!! She sent us text and pictures each time she checked in on them and I felt so relieved and happy knowing they were home and being well taken care of. You can tell she loves her work and cares for your animals just like they were her own! I never used a sitter before, just boarding, but we already know this is the route we will go on any of our future vacations because we loved the fact that she came to our homes so our pups were already in their happy place and it felt like leaving your dogs with a trusted friend. I wholeheartedly recommend her!
