Great place to do work! Very comfy chair and nice staff. They have parking or meter street parking as well. Some has free street parking before 6pm for permit only. Bagel is good, I got the MINT MATCHA and ngl it's not good so get something else. It can be crowded so a lot of seats are taken by 3pm so go early. It can be cold sitting near the door so if you can get seat inside it's best. Lots of cute shops to walk around to read more

My friend and I have been to MUD\WTR :gather a couple of times now so I was able to try a few items. I was so obsessed with the donut they had, that I had to come back two weeks in a row! Now the baked goods are sourced from Sugar Bloom Bakery, but goodness are they delicious! The Devil's Food Donut is one of the best doughnuts I've had in my life. And...it's gluten free!? Sheesh, how fascinating but I'm so in for it. Like I said, two weeks in a row I needed it! The drinks all sound really cool but have been pretty hit or miss for us. The Strawberry Matcha has such an odd taste to it, not a fan. The regular Matcha is much better and I would get it again, but head caution that it does not taste like you're typical Matcha Latte so don't expect that. Today I had the Pumpkin Spice and loved it! Their cups for the smaller drinks are so cool! They have a pretty cool top to them that seems eco-friendly and efficient, such a win. They also have a bunch of cool events that happen here, including a daily meditation. The meditation room looks very zen~ I'm intrigued! MUD\WTR :gather is excellent for more unique and 'healthy' caffeinated drinks, a chill spot to relax/study/work/gather with friends in their amazing indoor space or outdoor picnic tables! read more

Parking: Find metered parking on Main St or there's free neighborhood parking on 2nd St during the day, just read the signs. Experience: The woman at the counter was super nice and let me try a sample. I got the strawberry matcha which was pretty good but had a strange aftertaste, I'm not sure if it was the matcha or the coconut cashew milk. I loved all the seating options! A very trendy spacious coffee shop. As we entered it felt like the store was designed with spiritual intention, very welcoming. We were so surprised by how big the shop was compared to when we looked from the outside. The day we stopped by there were 3 parties in front of us. The baristas brew drinks like crazy. They got a small drink menu and a small box of pastries. We got the O.G. and matcha mint. We both find our drinks to be grainy, heavy on texture, and not pleasant to drink. I really want to go back to give other drinks a try but I had to force myself to drink the matcha I ordered. Other than that it seems like they do events. They have benches, bean bags, tables and chairs around. Overall, great location and space, not so much on the drinks. read more

My brain is temporarily closed for morning and afternoon coffee maintenance. That said let's begin this cafe review. MUD\WTR is a trendy coffee oasis that emits a namaste of tranquility. It's located on Main street in Santa Monica. They have prodigious approach to traditional coffee; they offer an organic coffee that focus on energy without the jitters and immune support. They offer a variety of blends such as OG, matcha, tumeric, cacao and rest. Similarly, they sell merch, mugs, coffee bean bags, hats, etc. Its interior space was massive with high wooden exposed ceiling and skylights. Moreover, their unique rustic tropical design and tranquil atmosphere subserving one's neuronal activity. I came here for the first time because of my curiosity of their brand name. In addition, they have some outdoor seats for those who prefer fresh air and a tan. Lol. I was greeted by a mellifluous tall white chick barista. I perused their almost alien menu; I end up ordering a small The Iced Latte OG (original blend, coconut creamer, maple syrup and milk). It was light in taste and uniquely refreshing. Prices were fair. Service was spot on. Staff were competent. Parking lot available albeit limited. Store vibe was very relaxing. Collectively, it's hip trendy coffee shop perfect to chill and get your office work done. Overall, I had a good experience and chill in one of their faux leather couches. I highly recommend this coffee shop. read more

I've been coming to Mudwater over the past few weeks for coffee and writing on weekday mornings. The vibe here is calm and serene and the drinks are delicious. Service is always friendly and efficient. The space is dimly lit with a lot of comfy seating and plants all around. It's a gorgeous space if you're looking to work for a couple of hours, though it looks busier during prime work hours. read more

Came here to met up with a friend on a Friday afternoon and it was crowded, though we were able to nab a seat at the counter then move to bean bags. There's a member-only section along with private rooms. The barista was friendly and recommended I do cashew milk with my latte (you have a choice of milk). Metered street parking available. The place is sooo cute and the baristas are sooo nice, but really gotta say the drinks are just not it T_T I've come here three times and even recommended it to my friends, but all my drinks and my friends' drinks have a weird turmeric taste even though I try to avoid ordering something with turmeric in it... I guess it's like healthy but it's really not worth the price. Also the seats near the plants always have fruitflies flying around you, and I sometimes see people sit on the chairs barefoot, hopefully the staff can do something about it. read more

Visit & Service Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon around 1 p.m. and was greeted right away. The staff offered samples of their drinks, which was a nice touch. I tried a few and ended up going with the original--it has an earthy taste that I really liked. The turmeric flavor was a close second. I'm not into super sweet drinks, so this was perfect for me. Atmosphere & Seating I found a seat pretty easily, and I love that there are outlets under each chair--super convenient. Everyone around me was focused and working, which actually helped me stay in the zone too. (Now that I think about it the mushroom drink definitely works, I felt so locked in) I ended up staying for about four hours and got a ton of work done. Parking Parking is limited; the lot only fits about 5-6 cars. Luckily, I grabbed a spot when I arrived, but definitely something to keep in mind if you're coming during busier hours. read more

The space is lovely. high ceilings, calm, and very relaxing. Definitely a comfortable place to sit and unwind. Staff were friendly and kind. I ordered a hot latte and an iced matcha. both drinks had added spices or flavors that I wasn't expecting, and I'm not really a fan of that style. One of my friends and I came in for a cold plunge and sauna session outside of the communal workspace/coffee shop. Inside, MUD\WTR offers a clean, refreshing environment full of plants, muted light, and the fresh aroma of lion's mane coffee. We got the beauty latte and spicey cacao latte as warm refreshers. The spicey cacao absolutely stole the show for us! The server also was wonderful at recommending us optimal milks for our orders and informing us more about MUD\WTR and the events available. I walk in with a friend, and step into a room of warehouse-chic meets modern zen. Concrete walls. Hemp. Plants. A bus outside that says "MUD/WTR" like it's about to take you to Burning Man. There's a members-only podcast studio, co-working space, and a communal vibe that felt like part Soho House, part health-food bunker. I tagged along with a social media friend who was podcasting while I looked for a place to set up my laptop to work. Staffs were kind. Ambiance was great. The drink.. was not my taste at all.. I had mango lassi which was $15 for a cup and og latte for my wife first. But we didn't like the drinks we got. So my wife took my mango lassi and I went to the counter to change the og latte to strawberry matcha. After waiting 15minutes I finally got the strawberry matcha. The strawberry matcha had some spices and they killed all the good flavor and smell of matcha. Strawberry milk was made very mild so it didn't make any balance or harmony of flavor. First time coming here. If you've never been to LA before, this place is quintessential LA: calm, vegan inspired, meditation/yoga/pilates vibes everything. . I've never had Bulletproof coffee and I've certainly never had mushroom style Bulletproof coffee and I tried it here and it's delicious. 100% recommend. I ordered mine with ghee and whole milk. What a great experience! The cashier at the front was the sweetest girl and even offered me samples of the coffee and had so much patience explaining the mushroom coffee and what it does for mental clarity before I even ordered! The vibes were so peaceful and perfect for work or studying, and i think they even offer a meditation session in a different room at 9 am and noon for like $15 or something. Beautiful coffee shop with good vibes and tasty drinks. The manager and barista are super friendly and nice--they'll offer you recommendations if you ask them. The shop also holds some pretty cool workshops throughout the week from meditation to mindfulness markets. As someone who can't dairy, I'm glad they carry dairy substitute for the blends. The space is gorgeous, I just wish the product convinced me to stay and enjoy it. The matcha chai blend had zero matcha flavor. They market it as matcha and I'm sure it's in there, but everything else is so overpowering, it's highly misleading to call it matcha. It just tasted like blended turmeric mushrooms, which isn't my thing, but perhaps others will like it and then they can enjoy the pretty space. read more

I think this is such an underrated place to study! I love the ambiance with the bean bags and the large interior. It feels casual and chill - many people here studying but also just catching up with one another. They serve coffee made with mushrooms instead of coffee beans and it honestly tastes super good and healthy. Good service too! Ok, so I happened upon this place while taking a very early morning walk and couldn't be happier. Open and inviting entrance, friendly staff greeting me and assuring me they are not the kind of mushrooms that would have me seeing Bob Barker riding a Dali elephant in seconds and very nice overall vibe. I sat down, sipped my almond concoction and really relaxed for around 20 minutes. Almost reminded me of a spa in Hong Kong. I can see this as a place for working, meetings w friends and just chilling out on a Saturday morning. Fits perfectly w the atheistic of the neighborhood too. Don't believe the photo less haters, they probably own the competition. Shout out to June Shin too for providing a similar spot for me and my girl to have many a relaxing afternoon in. So psyched for this new entrant to one of my favorite blocks on Main street! This used to be a rug Factory and then a post-production place and they've kept a lot of the bones to create a really cool hybrid of cafe, and hang space. They also have a parking lot in front for 8 or 10 cars which is a huge win for this block. While the cafe is not yet open, the menu currently features a lot of the mud/wtr classics. If you haven't had mud/wtr, this is not your typical Coffee Joint at all. From their website... "Our OG blend is a coffee alternative made of 100% organic cacao, masala chai, and mushrooms to give you natural energy and focus without the jitters and crash. How's it taste? Like your mug of hot cacao met a chai latte and they had a baby." I love the OG, which is rich and silky and btw vegan. Their hours will be expanded and the cafe will be open soon. Not sure why there aren't more of these spaces near me. I am an avid coffee addict, so this place was very different for me. There were interesting base options from matcha to turmeric to cacao. I opted for the matcha, which felt like the safer caffeine option to me, but I would try something different next time. The drink was tasty with a slight taste of dates, which I didn't order specifically but was happy with. It gave me a nice kick of caffeine that I needed to start my day without the big buzz with coffee. The space where I enjoyed my drink was surprisingly bigger than what I had expected. So glad to find this place...been going rather frequently. I live around the corner...(but if I drove; parking might be an issue). There are about 5 spots. I like the Hot Cocoa. I was burned by MUD/WTR's horrible customer no-service. The first batch I received was fine, no issues. The second batch caused me severe gastro-intestinal issues. I brought this to the attention of their customer support but they were unwilling to do anything for me and actually had the gall to tell me to just give it to a friend. Seriously? You want me to give tainted product that made me sick to a friend? It's so clear they are not at all customer focused here at all and would rather charge customers for tainted product than actually do the right thing for the customer. read more

I came across the product as an add on my instagram, today driving around LA I randomly came across the space and checked it out. I would give 7 stars if it was possible. The product is great the space is also great. The mushroom coffee is tasty and does the job as advertised. I was able to switch it for coffee and move away from my coffee habit. Another thing that I noticed was that my concentration and focus really did improve. Stop by check out the space and have a cup. Instead, you enter via a ladder directly into about four feet of water, with a rope separating this area from the deeper section. This setup may be fine for confident swimmers, but it felt less family-friendly than anticipated. Conversely, if you are looking to swim laps, this is not a lap pool. It is purely recreational. The changing and bathroom area is very open, and the showers offer no privacy. The shower water was also quite cold, which was not especially comfortable, particularly for kids. If you are expecting enclosed changing rooms or warm showers, this may be disappointing. Parking is public street parking only, paid at meters, which adds another layer of planning and cost. If you are serious about your child's music education and are contemplating this camp, please read…read moreon. We had been excitedly about the Santa Monica Music Camp for my almost 6 year-old son, but the reality turned out to be far different from what was advertised. Before the camp, we as parents were asked to complete a form to indicate the child's instrument. I selected keyboard/piano because that's what my son had been playing since he was younger, and I thought this week at the camp would be a great opportunity for him to hone his existing piano skills. However, I found out later in the week that my son had actually been playing guitar, completely different from what I had signed him up. The problem lies in non-disclosure about the switch of music instrument from their advertisement materials or pre-camp forms. In *none* of the forms does it state that your child might play a completely different instrument than the one that the parent had indicated. I wrote to the director but received no response. One staff told me "whatever instrument the child wants to play, they can play that." One staff member pointed to the language on the website that the child can experience all sorts of instrument as the reason that they don't need to inform parents if the child switches the instrument than the one for which the parent had signed the child up. The staff do not ensure that each child plays 3 hours of music, as advertised: What drew us to this place is that on the advertisement, it states "your child will enjoy playing music 3 hours". This sounded incredible since many of us parents needed to cajole our kid to practice their instruments at home. But, what one staff member informed me was that, "if you child does not feel like playing the instrument, we don't make them play the instrument." Okay, I understand that it can be difficult to encourage a reluctant child to play an instrument, but there seems to be general lack of effort to encourage reluctant children to engage, to actual play music. I was told that if the child walks away during rehearsal, the staff will just let the child walk away and do other things. When I asked, "then it is possible that they could learn nothing because they are not practicing?" The staff responded, "Ma'am, this is a camp. If you want your child to learn something, you should sign up for our individual lessons." I was dismayed at the attitude of the staff member who kept emphasizing that this is a *camp*, effectively asking me to not have much expectation of what my child would learn from the music camp. It seems that they do not pay much attention to the learning objectives of the campers, unless we sign up for individual lessons. Recital: The music camp touts itself for the end-of-the-week recital. However, you need to be aware that your child might not be in the recital. First of all, no audience is allowed at the recital. Second, after the recital, along with the videos of the recital that the staff sends out, the staff email states that "If your child is not featured in the instrument recital, it is because THEY made the personal decision to opt out. We did not want to force any kids to participate if they did not want to." This needs to be made transparent and known to the parents *before* the recital and in the advertisement materials. Other things that I wished I had known before signing up for Santa Monica music camp: --Early care and late care/ AM-PM care (before 9 and after 3pm) It currently costs $10/hour. Sounds great and affordable. However, early and late care is literally TV-care! They have a large television area where the TV is on with a bunch of seats around it. And I see the early care kids all sitting around the television, with little engagement from the staff. Late care? Same thing. It should be renamed "TV-care." --General level of disorganization: The school makes a binder for every child. My child's binder was missing the first day, and no one knows what happened to it. I was promised that his re-made binder would have music sheets in it. However, the whole week went by without any music sheets. Overall, the reality is a far cry from the advertisement. Unfortunately, my son did not learn much from this experience. Even though it was one week, it was one week of precious time lost. If you have a child on the younger side (5,6,7), I do not recommend this camp for the reasons above. They seems to be understaffed to teach the instruments, and some (not all) staff do not seem to have the motivation to help re-direct the younger children. There were some staff member who tried to address my concerns, such as David, which I appreciate. However, there were other staff members who unfortunately do not have any expectations or goals for our children.

Everything was wonderful and the staff were very nice and helpful. The only thing that was a little uncomfortable was that there were many homeless people close to the playground, but I think we probably just came at a bad time and it's not always like that. The staff is friendly when you enter, but they switch up and treat you like a peasant without doing anything to set them off. It's strange. They'll greet me, take my order, I'll be friendly and tip regardless, but it's like a switch flips the second we're halfway through the transaction. They suddenly treat you like you don't exist. They call out my drink, i grab it and say thank you right to their face, and they ignore me. It's a huge pet peeve of mine. It's rude to just ignore someone thanking you when there's nothing else going on.. like you don't have to say "you're welcome," but at least acknowledge with a look or smile? Then the second it's just the baristas back there, they're chit chatting and laughing and smiling it up like normal people do. Not a fan of this type of service and after this visit, I've officially decided I won't be returning. The espresso I had wasn't very good, so I resorted to getting a tea. The tea is good, hard to go wrong there. Overall, the espresso isn't good enough to comeback for, and the service is keeping me away. I've experienced this is many other coffee shops as well, so maybe it's an LA thing. Idk if I get treated this way because I'm a woman, or maybe because I'm a person of color, or what. It doesn't make sense to me since I'm a rather warm person. Service is more important to me than the actual product offered. I understand they don't get paid well, but the way employees behave start with management. They should hire better people or maybe encourage them to treat female customers better.

Love Coffee Bar is a small charming locally owned coffee shop in Ocean Park, Santa Monica. They primarily serve Counter Culture as their coffee roaster. And on their menu they have modest selection of coffee, tea and specialty drinks. Similarly, they have mugs, tote bags and merch for sale. This coffee shop has spacious interior layout and minimalist artful design. And have dog-friendly policy which was definitely a plus. In addition, they have free wifi and abundant of natural light which makes this shop a good spot to hangout. They have rear outdoor patio for customers that crave fresh air and sun. I perused their menu and ordered a hot Flat White and Iced Coffee. Both drinks were splendid! Smooth and rich in coffee bean aroma. Staff were affable and highly competent. They have an electric sandbox machine used to boil the coffee, replicating the traditional Turkish method of brewing coffee from hundreds of years ago. I like the original Turkish Coffee and taking it black. The coffee is so smooth that you don't need milk, and in my opinion you really should experience the full aromatic flavors of the Turkish coffee without the milk covering it up. You get a little butterscotch on the side too. More than just a coffee shop, Endless Noise is a testament to human ingenuity and the creative spirit. Tucked away in what I (for lack of better words) call Santa Monica's "warehouse district," Endless Noise began as strictly a recording studio- and a damn good one too. The owner used to serve Turkish coffee to his clients. One day, he decided to start selling vinyl records to the community. Then, he started offering his Turkish coffee as well. Why not? I've been trying to grab a coffee here for two years, but I always made the mistake of coming on the weekends when they were closed. I don't know why I decided to try again today of all days, on a Monday afternoon. But as I approached the store and saw their door open for the first time, I felt like I was stepping into a dream and taking a break from reality for a bit.
