We had such a great experience at this coffee shop. Their latte really stood out - smooth yet bold, with a depth of flavor that makes you slow down and actually enjoy every sip. I came here to meet up with someone at 10a on a Friday; the place was packed. I got an iced tea and it was well-brewed. The bathroom is nice and clean. My gripe is really by how crowded it got (good for the business! Bad for navigating through to the bathroom!) and people constantly looking for seating or trying to claim a chair. read more

Perhaps I'd chosen the wrong drink, but it was essentially tasted like oat milk, barely any matcha. Cream top was too diluted as well. Just came here for the first time. The owner Nick has a lovely spirit. You feel his warmth, kindness and care, and that's probably what makes this spot so popular with locals. They offer organic coffee and bevvies here along with a selection of pastries. Wednesdays are particularly special in that they offer their homemade cinnamon rolls on the menu. I got a cardamom latte. It was the right amount of sweetness thanks to their in house simple syrup. This was served at the perfect temperature. This normally comes with a double shot of espresso but I got mine with a single and they were able to accommodate without any problems. While I didn't taste the cardamom as much as I thought I would, this was a delicious latte and worth ordering. If you can't find street parking on Main, no worries. I parked up the hill on 3rd and Marine. If you don't mind walking up and down a hill for a bit, consider parking here to avoid some of the more stressful parking on Main. I would come back in a heartbeat. read more

My friend and I went to magical mystical Gnarwhal Coffee this morning after driving by it a bunch of times. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is always a line and it's such a cute neighborhood coffee shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do tons of cool sounding events there too! I had the plain black Cold Brew and goodness those are some rich and tasty beans being used. This coffee was simple but had layers and I love the taste. I tried my friend's Baja Brew which is also a cold brew but incorporates horchata vibes into it. Lovedddd it almost as much as I love gnarwhals, unicorns and chupacabras. Also tried their flaky and delicious chocolate croissant - their pastry display was looking good. Their coffee is organic and they use good sources for what they have in shop. This is always appreciated but culture on the coast is hyper aware of this and I appreciate that as a consumer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is such a Santa Monica edge of Venice coffee shop with straight surfer vibes throughout. Got one of the cinnamon buns and it was fine, nothing special and - if I'm honest - felt more like a home-baked pillsbury bun more than something from a bakery. Ordered a cold brew as well and it was also just OK, with a sort of dusty taste (like when coffee grounds are in the cup - they weren't but that was the flavor) $14 was the total for the drink and bun - which is very pricey. Ordered an iced cardamon latte to go. The inside of the cafe is fairly narrow and there is not much room to wait inside where the coffee is picked up once it's ready. There are some small tables in the back and some bar seating at the front of the cafe. There is also some seating outside as well. I was able to hear my order called from outside. My drink was great- not too sweet and a nice warmth from the spices. There is a discount if you bring your own cup :) read more

Cute coffee shop! A bit tight inside but there are some tables. Cute decoration including their own logo of a narwhal riding a surfboard. They have all the regular espresso drinks with some specialty items. I got the Baja Brew, it was described as an horchata cold brew. I was happy with it but I wouldn't describe it with the word horchata because that implies it's pretty sweet, which it's not at all. It's more like a cinnamon-y cold brew. It was good! Had to wait quite a while for it though, so the service isn't very speedy. read more

This cafe has a cute vibe inside, but my first experience here was lackluster. I ordered an Iced Cereal Milk Matcha. Unfortunately, it was pretty watery and just tasted like oat milk with a hint of cinnamon. Not worth it for the price sadly. Their pastries look like they could be worth a try, but I wouldn't go out of my way in order to do so. read more

Grab your coffee and get out. Staff were friendly and service was fast. The cold brew was watered down. Not terrible...just alright. My friend ordered the matcha 50/50, which was described as a matcha orange creamsicle. The taste of the matcha was thin, more orange cream than any tea flavor. Not remote worker friendly by design. Internet kicks you out after a while of use and is a bit slow. There are no electrical plugs, they've all been removed. Come with a full laptop battery beforehand, but you're better off finding some other place as you'll have to fight for a seat anyways. The music inside is loud and you can hear everyone's conversations. read more

I am glad we found a table outside to enjoy our treats on a nice sunny day. Customer service is nice, everyone was kind and helpful. We ordered two cardamom latte-s (I'm in a cardamom latte craze lately) which were really good, one almond croissant with marzipan inside, nice and fresh and an olive cake with dried orange, a delicious, moist slice of heaven! Tip- if you want water you need to ask at front desk, no jugs here (they could use one). Also, you need a code for the restroom. I had low expectations since tbh since I don't think they're a bakery, BUT, wow they must get them from a nearby bakery. These croissants were sooo buttery and fresh. Came for an event where they were having djs perform for the late morning to lunch hours. The place was super hyped and it really made the place such a fun place to be. I'm sure it's not always this way and you can usually grab a table and get some work done. I got the cardamom latte and it was spicy from the cardamom but also felt very sweet. I wished it was a less sweet for my taste but it was a decent drink. Feels pricey for $7 but also feels about market price for a latte nowadays. I really enjoyed how they had djs come to show off their skills and locals in the area who walked by said it was their go-to spot. Worth a visit for the coffee and look out for the events read more

Nothing special about the coffee here and there are no electricity outlets available for charging your laptop or phone. Wifi also times out every 1 hr. Pretty clear they don't want people hear doing work, but when I'm on the road trying to work, I come to coffee shops to pay $8 for coffee specifically for the ability to camp out for a few hours. Had the cinnamon bun and that was just average to me as well. Service was good and it is very clean, but those are somewhat basic expectations. read more

It's a casual beachside cafe. Menu had your usual food, easy eats. Started off with a nice cold one which we were surprised when they brought it out. It was massive. Food, your usual beachside menu. The Philly cheesesteak, which everything as à la carte. It was decent, nothing major but good. Also an order of the chili cheese fries, fish and chips and a classic hot dog with trimming on the side. Food was decent for a beachside cafe. It's nothing fancy but a fun casual dining experience. Vibe and ambiance was pretty mellow and chill. When we were there it seemed more like holiday makers versus the locals. We had a nice experience for our first time and the service was great. Staff were all friendly and sweet. Service animal are allowed in.

They have seating inside and outside, but usually the inside is already filled up if you get there anytime after opening.
