8 years ago, I gave Parish brewing only 4 stars because their tap room was too small. Well, they…read morehave improved it and made it a little bigger during that time but it's still too small. Alas they have announced the construction of a brand-new complex that I am sure will have a marvelous taproom. With all that being said, it doesn't matter about Parish's taproom. Their beer is so good I would drink it out of an oil pan while sitting in a port-o-potty. I have been to 420 breweries across the country including most of the ones on all the best breweries in the country list and Parish has my favorite beer, Ghost in the Machine. Ghost and all its variations and collaborations cannot be beat for hopheads like me. Parish could only make Ghost, and it would still be a 5-star brewery but there is so much more. Their limited-edition dessert stouts are fantastic, Canebrake is the perfect "everyday drinker", and their other hazies like Bloom and Atticus are phenomenal.

Parish Brewing is hands down one of the best breweries I've been to. The beer is flat out amazing…read more I had a Super Tropics for $8 and a Dr. Juice for $6, and both were worth every penny. Super Tropics was loaded with bright tropical flavors and finished clean, while Dr. Juice was refreshing, easy to drink, and full of character. The crew behind the bar makes the experience even better. They're friendly, quick, and know their beer. You can tell they enjoy what they do and it shows in the way they take care of customers. If you're into craft beer, this place is a must. Great pours, great people, and the kind of spot you can't wait to come back to.

I have been to Agile Brewing several times and it may be my favorite brewery in Baton Rouge. I…read moreknow it has my favorite brewery snack. The cheese curds and craklins. Whoever put these two items together is a genius! The chewy, meaty, crunchiness of the cracklins along with the gooey, saltiness of the cheese curds is the perfect combo. It's like Peanut butter and Jelly! Peas and Carrots! Beavis and Butthead! Ok I may have went too far but they are great. The beer is good too. Agile usually has 15 or so different beers or seltzers on tap. What I like about Agile is they don't just have 12 different IPA's (although I am a huge IPA guy) a stout and a blonde. They have all kinds of styles which is a good change of pace. Upon my last visit I had a Stout, An American Wheat, an IPA and a Krystalweisse (German light beer) in my flight. All were really good but the Krystalweisse was surprisingly good in that it was both flavorful and still light. Another plus for Agile is they are in an industrial park that includes 2 distilleries and another brewery. So, get you some curds and cracklins then get shmangled. Just call an Uber.

I discovered Agile Brewing when a friend invited me to their Wednesday Bingo Night. Our game host,…read moreDoddy, was SO fun! I loved the shoutout to the regulars as if they were family. Bingo is free for paying customers, and I got their #5 brew - Lemon Buffer, a lemon vanilla sour - and the Locked and Loaded Taters. The beer queso on the tater tots was a nice touch! I was indoors for Bingo but their outdoor space looked nice with picnic tables and string lights lit up at night.

Happened to go on a Friday…read morenight before a ticketed event, but managed to grab a quick pint in the half hour before they closed for regular business. The interior is super cute with long tables with stools and smaller tables with chairs. There are even a few booths tucked away. Our bartender was super sweet and patient with us during out first visit and even helped us pick out beers that we might like. It's interesting to note how many other reviews note a plethora of IPAs - my guess is this is seasonal because there were lots of malty stouts in early March. I love a rotating menu, so this makes me excited to go back. I was between the Wendy Peffercorn and Field of Nightmares (I think? It was a chocolate peanut butter stout.). The bartender let me try both and it was hard to choose! I ended up with Wendy Peffercorn, but I definitely would have been happy with either. Looking forward to going back, maybe even for Trivia night on Tuesdays! FYI - this business participates in PubPass and even though their website doesn't indicate food service, it looks like they rotate pizzas of the day.

I feel like if they invested in their outside seating, it could be the spot. They also serve pizza and chips and canned soda. I don't believe they do brewery tours. But definitely a hidden gem.

Looking for a fun brew pub with a cool outside area? Add this place to your list…read more The area around Lafayette has several cool brew pub options. Mandeville needs to step up its game. Adopted Dog is dog focused and makes solid beer with good food. If you don't like beer, you can still eat good food in a good atmosphere. If you don't like beer and don't like dogs, you may be out of luck. The beer. I have only been here a couple of times so I have not ventured too far into their beer offerings. I have had three different styles and all ranged from good to very good. The food. Cheese curds - get the sampler platter. Three different types of cheese curds that are lightly fried and totally good. Who knew fried cheese curds could be delicious? I guess the Wisconsin people and Canadians but now you know too. Brussel sprouts - Just get them. Crispy and tasty is all you need to know. Smash burger - If you like smash burgers, you will like this one. I don't (i prefer a thick patty), so it was fine, but again, not my preference. The outside area is very cool. While there are long tables, games, and TVs, there are also Adirondack chairs. Sitting in those, drinking a beer, and feeling the breeze transports you elsewhere. It is the spot to be. Check out Adopted Dog. You will bee glad you did.

I love going places with Freckles McWolfington III, esq. He's my best little buddy and is always up for a ride in the truck, especially if it involves pets from strangers. Freki has got to be the friendliest pup I've ever met - if you see us out, be sure to say hi! The brewery is big and spacious, often hosting trivia nights and parties, and they showcase a LOT of great beer on tap. I'm kind of stuck on the AndyGator, but the selection is crazy huge. Come in and get a flight or two, bring your DD, and promise to switch roles on the next visit - that's how you brewery responsibly! Or Uber, someone's out there waiting to hear all about your visit as they drive you home. Love the folks here - the service is always terrific. No rush, take your time, ask questions, talk taste...these guys got you, man. We love to hang here because of the dog park area just outside, where you can sit in the shade, enjoy that beautiful dark golden brew, and watch your dogs check out every square inch of prime sniffing real estate. My little dude loves to watch for new people, so when you see him run - he's a chonk, but he's still a runner - up, give him a scratch and "good boy," he's gonna love it. On occasion, there's a food truck parked outside with tasty snacks, like the amazing pesto chicken sandwich I had a few weeks ago. The Abita Brewery is definitely a keeper and way up on the "repeat visit" list.
