This place is on my Burlington short list. I just love the interior - such a unique interior remodel, and really a master class on how to take a small unremarkable space and totally transform it into a unique, memorable setting with some thought (and very cool woodworking skills - perhaps from Yestermorrow folks?) The food/drink offerings really match up as well - there is always something cool tucked away on their menu, and even though the seats are all usually taken, on two totally separate vists seats opened up within 10 minutes of our arriving. A cool mix of students and locals, taking in the vibe. The tea by the pot is a screaming deal, and I have also enjoyed the well curated tap list as well. The veggie chili and fruit pie put it all together to take the edge off our arrival after a long day of driving. I love coming here for the ambiance. Their coffee is top notch and they also have a variety of drink and food offerings, even hard drinks for late night visits. I come here often to sit in the shop and get work done. This is one of the nicest places to sit down for coffee in Burlington rather than a get and go place. Great place. Very welcoming atmosphere. Stopped in with my family 2 times over a long weekend. The service was quick and friendly. I LOVED the maple latte. My wife and children enjoyed their coffee drinks as well. We also has some very good muffins and bagels. We will definitely go back the next time we are in town. read more

One could taste how over extracted the espresso shots are -- super bitter and gag worthy. They really should check their grind and bean age every once in a while because it does make a huge difference! I got a double cappuccino and threw it out after a sip. I could see why all the coffee people were dumping sweeteners in their drinks. Maybe I'll go back and try their non-coffee drinks, but I'd rather keep my money. read more

This is my go-to spot to catch up on my reading. My favorite seat is the comfy chair closer to the windows. There aren't many other places with good lighting. Also you get to eavesdrop on some awkward first dates! Another fun activity is to pull out all the little notes stuck into the nooks in the walls/trees to read what local burlingtonians think is "profound". Spoiler alert: Gandhi. The drinks are great too! They make their own chai, which means it's sometimes lumpy and might scare your more starbucks-inclined friends, but that's ok. The pastries and soups are good. I haven't tried their smoothies, but they won the Seven Daysies for it so they must be good. Some reviewers on here are complaining about the lack of wifi, but I am personally a fan of this. Since most people come here in pairs or groups, there aren't many single homeworkers hogging whole tables for five hours. Also it makes it a more lively atmosphere than the awkward pressure to be silent like in other coffee shops (cough uncommon grounds cough). But personally I like a little background noise while I read and sip my hot bev. read more

While I love the atmosphere in this coffee shop, the service is absolutely abysmal. The staff mull about, seemingly under the impression that they are at a hipster fashion show rather than at work. I'm sure they would be welcomed with open arms to the US Congress. They often don't cut the bagels in half, even when you specifically ask them to. They don't charge you for your food until after they've made it, so you have to awkwardly hang about the counter with your debit card hovering halfway out your wallet for 10 minutes. A plain bagel costs $1, but a bagel with cream cheese costs $3. TWO DOLLARS for too little cream cheese?? You've got to be kidding me. read more

Best coffee shop in Burlington! This place has great atmosphere and a very good selection of tea and hot chocolate for those of us who are not coffee drinkers. The soups are pretty good too. Nice staff and usually a good crowd of interesting customers. It stays open late into the evenings too. The only down side of this place is a lack of internet but on the whole it is a wonderful place to sit and sip and chat. read more

My fiance and I both take our coffee black, so we really love a well-balanced cup of coffee. Both the Moka Java and the Kenyan coffee were spectacular. This is one of the best coffee shops I've been too. The decor is incredible and inviting. As another review puts it, 'it's like a hobbit hole'. It is very woodsy and natural with a decorative tin roof and small stained glass window detailing on the front window. When I walked in I was overwhelmed by a strong chai scent, which was intoxicating. I was tempted to order the chai based on how amazing the cafe smelled, but opted for a simple iced coffee instead which was excellent. My boyfriend had the Ethiopian roast and it was absolutely incredible. Very rich in flavor! I will definitely be coming back here for my caffeine fix on future visits to Burlington. read more

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I love tea! And this place has a great selection of teas. I have even found Pu-erh, which is usually hard to get here. Very cozy environment (although might feel a bit dark for some), friendly staff and nice crowd. Will definitely be one of my favorite places. read more

My girlfriend and I LOVE their coffee, we have been going there for about 2 months about 6 times a week. but today will be our last time. The Inconsistency is out of this world. You never know what you are going to get. We always pay a different price (and WE GET THE SAME THING EVERYTIME) and today the cup was smaller and their excuses was one shot is a smaller cup, WELL IF THAT IS TRUE THEN TRAIN ALL YOUR EMPLOYEES BECAUSE NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING. it's annoying to a customer to walk into the coffee shop wondering what the price is going to be today, or what cup we will get today. Enough is Enough we will NEVEVR come again... That's 72 dollars a week, 288 dollars a month 3456 dollars a year you will miss because of Inconsistency. read more
