I'm writing this review so that other pets and pet owners can be spared from a traumatic experience. I went in for a simple nail grinding, and my dog came back bleeding. First of all, when my dog showed signs of distress, the groomer immediately started scolding her, as if she was taking her stress out on my dog. Like, WTF? When I tried to step in, she walked toward the door to the back room which was super sus. I could tell the other groomer, who was working on another dog, noticed how bad the situation was getting and stepped in to help hold my dog. So I continued to monitor what was happening. When she finished, she walked toward me with a defensive attitude and said she "trimmed one of the nails too short, but it's not bleeding so it's fine." WTF? I asked her to show me which nail she meant, and she couldn't even identify it. When I saw it, it was trimmed really short and clearly looked painful. No wonder my dog was in distress. Then, as soon as I got into the car, I noticed bleeding on her back paw. I ran back in and told them my dog was bleeding, and again she got defensive, saying "Where? Where?" and tried to yank my dog's paws to check herself. When she finally saw the bleeding, she grabbed some kind of ointment or quick-stop powder and said, "Accidents happen." Uh, no. This wasn't an accident, it was incompetence. Honestly, her license should be reconsidered given her hostility toward animals and lack of technical skill. There was even more BS that came out of her mouth, but I won't bother including it here. Someone like her should not be handling pets at all. I was speechless at how unprofessional she was -- and even more shocked to learn that she is one of the owners, based on the photo here on Yelp. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Horrible owners, do not take your pet here.....unless you want them traumatized by sitting soaking wet against "the wall" which they are leashed to, to bathe, or sitting in a kennel waiting to be dried or groomed. They act as if they care, but money is the only driving factor. read more

My dog, Boudie, went into to mudpuppies for a second time and was wounded/cut in his genitalia region - one being on his scrotum, other near penis, with the real kicker being the groomer CUT OFF his nipple. Then, decided to post a cute Christmas photo to their Facebook page for marketing - is this a joke!? I wouldn't trust Mudpuppies with the safety of your pups - the groomer delightfully took my money and accepted a very generous tip while being so undeserving, and didn't bother to mention any of this to me. She also cut very closely around his eyes - luckily she didn't blind him. I feel sick that I trusted Mudpuppies and now my poor dog is surely traumatized from this experience - Get the groomer better training so she doesn't mutilate any other dogs! read more

I will give this place zero stars they my puppy chewy I had to take my puppy to the vet cost me over $400 please. I advise all customers. It's very aggressive pulling my dog by the neck. I even told him I have vet bills to prove my dog caught allergies from her dirty place and the soaps that she use my dog hotspots. He does not feel good anymore. We tried this place on a recommendation. We booked what we thought was a wash and haircut. We have been getting our dog groomed by another groomer for years. So we are not new to this. Instead we were told it was a wash and a trim. There was no attempt by the groomer to correct the error- so we basically paid for a very expensive bath and eyebrow trim. The groomer had terrible customer service and people skills. We will not be returning and I will not recommend this business to anyone. read more

Shar is fantastic we work with rescue dogs and they can have behavioral issues from time to time. Shar is patient and gentle with our dogs. After a couple of visits they are happy and excited to see her and ready for pampering. Heather who is one of the owners is a wizard with cats. We have a large skittish cat and she takes her time and is gentle with him. It is amazing to find a groomer that is so good with cats. read more

We adopted a rescue last May and Kelsey is absolutely amazing with her. She was so patient with my goldendoodle from day one. My pooch was slow to get comfortable but Kelsey did an amazing job and does one every time she goes stays in contact with me through the whole time she is grooming her to make sure it's exactly what I want. I just want to give a shout out to Mudpuppies and the owner for being so caring and kind! I have an elder, 9 year old bernese mountain dog who has bad hips and over weight. I called them concerned with my girl on her legs for too long and if she need breaks to please let her sit or lay down. I was heard and reassured that my girl will be taken care of. She was suppose to be there 4-5 hours. An hour and a half later I get a call saying she's all done and they double teamed her to get her done as quick as they could. As soon as I hung up with them I had a picture of my girl waiting for me to look at with her in Christmas holiday spirit! They also sent me a picture of my girl just chillin on one of the beds they have too. So she wasn't in a kennel like most places and I will forever now be a customer of Mudpuppies. We have 2 short haired dogs (15lbs & 20lbs). We are new in town and looking for the good groomer near by house. I called a few grooming places who has more than 4 stars Yelp rated. Most of place were fully booked and sounded like they don't want any new clients. That's why I sent message them through the FB to see if they can take a new client or not. They responded almost right away. And they said they can take my 2 furry babies for the grooming in few weeks, but they can call me if they have any cancellations. Week later, they called me and said they can squeeze us in their spots. Yay!!! When I dropped my dogs off for grooming, their entrance and grooming area were clean and bright. All staffs were super friendly and welcoming us. When I picked up our dogs, I already know we'll come back there in 4-5 weeks. Since then, we ( included dogs) are so happy to go there. We have been going to Kayla at Mudpuppies for 4 years with our old gal. Even with her myriad of skin and matting issues from her being so itchy all the time from allergies, Kayla has always been great at turning her from our little polar bear back into the princess she is used to being :) You can tell Kayla really puts the time and effort into her pets. She even mentioned possible heavy heart sounds after a grooming session, and when taken to the vet, we found she had a murmur. All because Kayla cared enough to notice. She truly loves her pets and makes sure she never pushes their boundaries of their comfort. My baby is at the end of her life now, sadly, and at her last groom, Kayla made sure to take the time to really love on her and make sure she was comfy while getting her last cleanup. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this business. For the second time in only three grooming sessions, my tiny boy has come home with an injury. He's a quiet, gentle dog so I am baffled by the poor grooming experiences he's had. First it was the ear nick, which healed well (but he does have a permanent notch out of one ear). I know it was a total accident. I gave you another chance. Second groom was fine. But Tuesday this week he came home with a red rashy belly, likely from way-too-close shaving. That redness was not there that morning. I called immediately after I returned home and spotted the redness. The groomer claimed to not know it happened. Really?! His whiskers were also shaved off! I'm disappointed. I liked your location and customer service was good, but definitely not a good fit. read more

I am a nervous nelly of a dog owner. New to the area from out of state and finding a good groomer has not been easy at all. It's always so nerve racking to leave your fur baby in strangers hands. I saw good reviews on this place and a few not good, but clearly the good outweigh the bad so I was hopeful. Oscar did an AMAZING job. I was nervous only have shown him one photo for ten seconds or so but he nailed it. This is my third try for a good groomer and I feel I've found him. These groomers go the extra mile! I brought my mother in law's senior dog that hasn't been groomed in quite some time, they worked a miracle. I got in with in a few days and the cost was reasonable considering his condition. They even took a cute Christmas picture afterwards! She assured me that my concerns will be addressed, including direct attention to some employees. Supporting small businesses brings me great joy. The owner explained that my pup was happy at the groomers, despite not showing it at home. I understand that bad haircuts can happen, especially with mats on my dog's ears, and I'm willing to give the groomer a second chance. After speaking with the owner, I trust the groomer will deliver exceptional work in better conditions. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. I must express my utmost disappointment with my recent experience at MUDPUPPIES. The level of unprofessionalism and lack of care for their customers and pets is truly alarming. As someone who has worked in customer service, I am usually understanding, but this was beyond unacceptable. I am very kind and often too forgiving, which I wholeheartedly regret in this situation. My dog's grooming session was a nightmare from start to finish. The groomer's initial comment upon my arrival, essentially dismissing any concerns about my pet's well-being, was completely inappropriate and unsettling. THE 1st THING THE GROOMER SAID WHEN I WALKED IN FOR PICKUP WAS, "I KNOW, DON'T SAY ANYTHING"?!?!?!?! That is not the 1st thing you want to hear out of someone's mouth who has been caring for your pet the past few hours. CUSTOMER SERVICE: While I was waiting for the cut to be over 20 minutes past the point of when I received the 'almost done' phone call in which she instructed me that she would be done in 20 minutes, the phone started to ring and one of the employees immediately said "GO AWAY!" (Referring to her not wanting to pick up the phone). Another employee pointed out that there was a customer in the lobby (me), in which she jokingly responded, "she's not allowed to say anything anyway." The other employee then told me "we usually just tell them we're not home." Their attitude towards customer service was shockingly dismissive, as evidenced by their comments about not answering the phone and the lack of regard for customers in the lobby. As for the actual grooming, it was nothing short of disastrous. My dog had pretty bad mats on her ears and they had to be shaved, which I was told ahead of time and completely understood. But when I came in to see my dog, I was not prepared. My mini poodle received a 'poodle cut' that turned out to be uneven and patchy around her mouth and ear. But okay whatever, I can get over a bad haircut. My main concern was my dog's extreme distress. She was visibly sad, jumping off the grooming table, and crying hysterically, which has never happened after any previous grooming elsewhere. The ordeal left my dog so shaken that she didn't even want treats or show any signs of excitement for the rest of the day. Seeing her in such a state was heartbreaking, and I fear this experience may have a lasting impact on her attitude towards grooming in the future. She was panting excessively when I picked her up and ran straight to her water bowl when I got home. I have always taken my dog to reputable grooming establishments like PETCO/PETSMART, where she is treated with care and enthusiasm, I can tell she has a good time there and I can always trust that she is well taken care of and never reacts this way leaving from there. I have never seen her react this way after leaving. I deeply regret trusting MUDPUPPIES with her grooming and hope she can recover from this traumatic experience. As a young adult in my mid-twenties, I often receive comments about looking like a teenager, which can sometimes lead to my concerns being overlooked by others. I sincerely hope that MUDPUPPIES realizes the importance of treating all customers with respect and attentiveness, regardless of their age. While I wish for better treatment and service, my intention is not to seek revenge but to encourage MUDPUPPIES to improve their practices and customer relations. If they take this opportunity to rectify their approach, they have the potential to regain trust and goodwill among their customers. read more

I would not recommend this grooming salon. I took my husky/ german here for a NAIL TRIM which i also mentioned to the owner Kimberly, that he will be on trazadone because he's already traumatized from a bad nail trim accident way back and she reassured me that they were patient, experienced groomers which I believed till we came to pick my pup up. He had a fairly big gash in his leg and high no one had mention to us during or after our appointment. We had told the groomers in advanced that if he's too much then we can just stop the service so we wouldn't have mind if they did so. When i called back to ask about what happened, the second owner had the audacity to say it must've happened when my pup was getting in the car after the appointment, but even so there would've been blood everywhere in our car. She kept telling me that it wasn't there fault and they never saw the gash and I know for a fact he did NOT have that gash beforehand so it 100% happened in their salon. In the end, they did the job and got his nails trim, but I was furious that no one mention anything bout this cut or how it even happened and that WE had to figure it out ourselves. We had a great experience! I brought out 5 year old rescue border collie to Mudpuppies for her first grooming experience. Our groomer was Netanyah and she was so enthusiastic and loving. She greeted me and my doggie, asked about each service we might want (all of them, please!). I gave her a little history (she's a rescue, I think she'll be ok, but we haven't had her groomed before). Netanyah listened carefully, made notes, and gave me an estimate of the amount of time the services would take. Since I was obviously worried rescue dog mom, Netanyah kept me updated throughout the service via texts. When I came to get her, she was even cuter than before! I can tell Lucie loves her new haircut, her paws aren't as itchy, and she made a new friend! If you're like me, you do not have a tub that you don't have to bend over to wash your pup. This place is really nice. Clean, well maintained and it's a pleasure to bathe my babies there. First, they were immediately responsive to my messages while I was inquiring about their services and availability.
