(UPDATE) 4/2 - Also to add, the morning after the groom, my dog woke up with a red eye that was a little goopy. Had to take her to the vet this morning because she has an eye infection. The vet said extremely likely came from the grooming. What was supposed to be a $95 bath and groom has now cost me $237. -------------- I had requested the 15 step grooming package listed $95 for my size dog on their website (which did not include haircut). When the groomer arrived, she asked what kind of haircut I wanted for my dog. I told her that I ordered the 15 step grooming package and just wanted to paws, sanitary cut, and trimmed around the eyes (what was included in the package). Flash forward, I get a text saying my dog is done and it's $130. I walked out to the van and asked why there was an extra charge and she told me it was booked as a groom and a haircut. I told her that that's not what I sent them and the price is listed as $95 on their website for what I requested. She told me she didn't know what was on their website. She also told me, "we nickel and dime for everything." Probably not something you should say to a customer who's complaining that you're charging them above the listed price of what was requested. The groom itself was decent minus the bowl cut my dog now seems to have. Wouldn't book with them again. read more

Kira arrived on time and was both quick and skilled. My cat is normally very long haired, and in spring she goes through a big shed. It's hairballs for days, even with regular brushing. So we get her a teddy bear cut in the spring so she is less miserable. I'm the last we have taken her to groomers and while they did a nice job, she always came back shaking and nervous. Wow!!!! I am beyond thrilled about today's mobile grooming experience! This was my first time ever doing this. I have a very spicy senior kitty who attacks me if I try to brush her and she gets mats around her booty and thighs. I made sure to give my cat her gabapentin dosage prior to the appointment. When Kira arrived I wrapped Molly up in a blanket and handed her over. I kinda thought Kira would shave the mats and that was it! To my surprise Molly had all of her nails trimmed, a shampoo and comb out and her mats cut off! It was like a kitty SPA DAY except Molly had to have the murder mitten socks and Hannibal LECHTER mask on to keep Kira from being ripped to shreds My cat looks like a fancy fluffy gal and she seems very happy about her new look I'm so happy I found Metro Mobile Groomers! Talk about convenient! Right up to my driveway! This was Howies first experience with having anyone trim his nails/bathe him! Kira did wonderful. She Let me know what was going to happen, plus she has a lot of experience under her belt so when she took Howie and closed the van door I knew he was going to be taken care of! They also will not take phone calls - only text - which makes it harder to talk through the grooming we want. It took a couple years but I finally found our groomer. Metro Mobile Groomers were easy to work with in booking an appointment, made my cats look wonderful, and were quick. Kira was very personable and shows a genuine love for cats. I have two persian cats that got a lion cut and flea bath. She took each cat individually and between the two, the entire appointment time was slightly over two hours. One of my cats has the thickest hair I've ever seen on a cat, so that's pretty incredible. I've had groomers keep spend over an hour on him alone. A core concern for my (everyone's really) cats and grooming is how they act afterwards and that's where prior groomers missed the mark. The best haircut in the world means nothing if my cat is hissy or hiding for the rest of the day. When Kira returned the cats, they acted like themselves and romped around the yard enjoying their lack of hair. I'll definitely be a recurring customer and recommend them to anyone. read more

We have only used this service once , but had a good experience and booked our next appt. For whatever reason, mobile groomers are not very common in Portland, so I was really happy to find this service. Booking was easy enough and we got a fast appointment. The van used for grooming was fully contained and they did not need to use our electricity or water. Our Maltese was fully groomed in the amount of time it would have taken us to drive to and from our past groomer, not to mention to and from again to pick up the dog several hours later. Other reviews mentioned that Metro Mobile Groomers does not accept electronic payment. This is not the case, but they requested check or cash if possible. Easy appointment was made with a text message for our 11 year old labradoodle, Miles. Super responsive- I was able to get an appointment about a week from when I made contact. Carla was our groomer and when she arrived she set a calm and comfortable vibe. She was communicative before arrival letting me know her time was running over. Carla and I discussed future appt time and while chatting she found a spot she missed and took care of it immediately. I highly recommend this service. The pricing does range- from 65$ up.
