Amazing , everything went so well. We were in NSB on vacation many miles from home. Our car developed at noise that I suspected to be brake or wheel bearing related. Afraid to start the long drive home, I stopped in. No appointment needed, first come first serve. Everyone there was kind and very courteous. The waiting area and restroom were clean and fresh. They took the time to listen and diagnose the problem. Within 90 minutes I was out the door with the problem addressed and for less $$ than I was fearfully anticipating. DO NOT USE MUFFLER MAN! We had our vehicle serviced at another shop in town and they suggested we have our manifold + catalytic converters looked at, so we took it to Muffler Man. The car was driven directly from the company in Edgewater to Muffler man (a few miles down the road) and no check engine light was on, as all the necessary repairs had been done. Muffler man worked on the repairs for several days. Last night we went to pick up the vehicle, after the manifold/converters were repaired and as soon as my wife got into the car, the check engine light was on and Muffler Man stated that there was a radiator "coolant" leak, which was not leaking before. My wife then drove the car directly back to the shop in Edgewater and they took a look at it today. They stated that there was a new "puncture" and now we need a new radiator. The puncture was right where the work was done at Muffler Man. When calling Muffler Man, they refused all responsibility. The radiator was just replaced and brand new in November. Please do not use Muffler Man in New Smyrna Beach. They will rip you off, damage your vehicle and tell you they will do nothing to help you. You have been warned. read more

I went to Muffler Man located 300 N. Dixie Frwy in New Smyrna Beach, FL around the beginning of March, 2025, because my car brakes were squeaking. I paid mechanic Devon $90 to clean and lube the brakes but the squeakiness continued. So, I contacted the owner who works at Muffler Man in Deland, FL (who is grandfather to mechanic Devon at New Smyrna). Owner Louie told me to bring car in and said he'd look at the brakes but when I did so, to their Deland, FL location, he was rude, hostile and disrespectful to me, over-the-top, telling me that Devon is certified and telling me that he is not and ranting and raving that he doesn't have to be because he's experienced. I wasn't sure what work was done to my car before it was done because no one told me, but I heard owner Louie telling his mechanic how to take the brake pads off, which worried me, since I would think he would have known. When I commented on this, owner Louie took over and worked on my car himself, the very person who was hostile to me, and I worried about this and regretted not taking my car and leaving, wondering if he'll sabotage my car. No one told me what work was done but when it was finished, my car was brought out and owner Louie said to me "Now, get out of here!" in a hostile way and treated me like I was trash, which was disturbing and angering, after he worked on my car. Because of this bad experience and owner's total disrespect and hostility to me (unwarranted), I went to other repair shops close by and told them about this bad experience, wondering if Muffler Man did something wrong to my car and asking if a mechanic could pull the brakes and check. I paid one mechanic to do this, and he told me that too much grease/lube was put on and said it was dangerous, and he sprayed something on to try to dry the grease off. I wasn't surprised and I regretted ever going to Muffler Man. I believe Muffler owner Louie lacks in good ethics when he chooses. This is a family run business with two locations, one in Deland, FL and the other in New Smyrna Beach and I wouldn't recommend either place. If you return with a complaint, I believe they won't respond appropriately (and did not to me) but may do something wrong or inappropriate to your car, and if you return to the owner, Louie, who is the mechanic at the Deland, FL location, he'll disrespect you and show hostility to you. I made a BBB complaint about this, and Muffler Man owner Louie lied in his response, saying that he was certified (although he told me he was not) and he dishonestly said in the BBB response that he told me to have a nice day when work was finished on my car, although HE DID NOT. To the contrary, he treated me like trash and ordered me off his lot. This was a terrible experience and I would not recommend Muffler Man at all! read more

I drove to NSB from Indianapolis and my check engine light came on. I took it to the dealership and was told I needed a brand new exhaust pipe for $835! I then had horrible customer service from the dealership so I took my car over to Muffler Man. Every single person I encountered was friendly and helpful. The fixed my car in a day and were able to just weld the crack in the exhaust. Honest business and highly recommend taking your car there! read more

Took my Jeep for an oil change and tire rotation. Was told while paying my bill the vehicles catalytic converter was missing. Thought this was odd as I have had the Jeep in for service numerous times at Bob's Automotive prior to his retirement and was never told this. I also noticed sales posters on the wall advertising catalytic converters for sale. Subsequently took the Jeep to another shop, asked them to check on the existence of a converter, and of course there was one. Unethical at the least - run far and fast from this place. read more

I own a house in new Smyrna beach and spend a couple months out of the year there. This time around my van had a few issues that had to be fixed during the course of my time there. I took my vehicle to muffler man for 3 different issues during my stay. This is my first time using this shop but it will be my go to mechanic from now on while I'm in town. They were professional polite and prompt! The cost of the repairs were very fair and very reasonable. Being I only had this particular vehicle to use while there they were kind enough to Drive me home from the shop and pick me back up when my vehicle was ready on all three occasions. Found an awesome guy in Port Orange but he's just extremely booked all the time. So, I took a chance on Muffler Man. Very glad I did. My muffler pretty much fell off. Was hanging by a thread. I left my car with them just before closing last night. Got a call this morning that it was done. Very, very reasonable price, and I see a new engine pipe under the car. Friendly staff. After getting a ridiculous estimate at a quickie-lube place, I decided to chance my dying rear brakes (stuck caliper) on getting me to Muffler Man as I'd had two good experiences with them in the past. The brakes seized up on me as I was turning into their driveway. They took care of it on the spot and at very reasonable rates (laudable, since they did have me over a barrel--I shudder to think what some other less scrupulous places would have charged). I own a 1999 Suzuki Vitara soft top. It was the only year this truck was manufactured, I have taken my truck to Muffler man twice to have needed work done. The parts needed for this vehicle are hard to find, but they have never let me down! I last time I took it in, they even called me to discuss the issues before they did the work. My dad owned 3 gas stations, my father & brother were mechanics. Until I moved to Florida, I only allowed two people to work on my vehicle. This is how I feel about the people at Muffler Man ( this location). I had taken my truck elsewhere, won't say place; but wasn't happy with the work. My truck is old, 205,000 miles, but she's my baby. As long as I live in Florida, no one but them will ever touch it! read more

This is a very sketchy place. I dropped my car off for a tune up and an oil change. I received a call later and was told that it would cost $500. When I stated that was ridiculous they dropped the price from $400 and then again to $300. What kind of reputable place does this? Upon picking up the car I checked the dip stick and noticed they never changed the oil. They claimed it was an oversight and if I bring the car back they will make it right. I guess I now need to make sure they even changed the spark plugs. I would seriously consider gong elsewhere even for basic work. read more
