A terrific, friendly, patient and very professional young lady. My first exposure to this store was she, and that was a very encouraging start. When I went for the appointment, I found the store spotless, to include the very well organized shop area. The gentleman handling my appointment was Gerry...a friend whom I'd never met! Great guy! As with Gabby, he was patient, knowledgeable , efficient, friendly and welcoming. My mechanic was Ezikeal...yet again, professional and efficient. He did a great job! This is my absolute go-to shop, now. They didn't up-sell me. They knew what they were doing and how to do it. DON'T GO HERE!!! I took My Honda with only 35,000 miles to check battery. They tell me I need a battery & alternator. They didn't have time to do it still TRIED CHARGING ME Total of $1145.00! This was on Facebook posted by a customer who visited your store. I'm still trying to understand why I received such horrible customer service yesterday at Pep Boys on International. This man was actually upset that I refused to purchase tires from them and disrespected me in the worst way. His name was Daniel and he claims to be the manager there but his behavior was unbecoming as a manager/employee of the company. This man called me a B and told me to get the f out his store after throwing my receipt at me. I simply told him that I was not gonna to purchase tires from them and he went on to tell me that was stupid and that my tires can pop at any minute. Again I told him I would take care of it but not here. He continue until I finally just asked for my receipt so that I can exit. That is when he threw the receipt at me and told me to exit his store. I told him that he doesn't have to treat me that way just bc I don't want to purchase tires. I then asked for his corporate number to report this type of behavior and he told me there is no number and again for me to exit. I continued asking if asked one of the men in the back and he belittled them stating they wouldn't know they just mechanics. This man then snatched my keys off the counter and walked to the front door opened it and dangled my keys in the air and told me to come get them. I'm now and told him I am no dog and I do not fetch things so he can bring my keys back in here and hand them to me. He refused and continued at the door. I then called my wife and told her what was going on. She entered and also asked him to please just give me the keys respectfully but he continued out the door with my keys then even proceeded to put them on the ground out the door. ATP I'm furious and he began calling me a B again and telling me to get out his store. He then called the police which was fine bc I had done nothing wrong. He on the phone telling them we refuse to allow him back in his store and that I destroyed his store. First of all u walked out your own store holding the door open dangling my keys and we simply asked u to hand us the keys. The positive: They accepted me as a walk-in. The negatives: They charged me over one thousand dollars to fix an intermittently warm a/c. It took all day (nearly 7 hours) and the next day the a/c FAILED AGAIN, the same exact problem. Evidently they charged me for a major repair to replace a major part that clearly did not need replacing in the first place. Good thing they picked a pricey one, huh? Shelling out a lot of hard-earned cash only to find your problem has not been fixed at all is a lousy thing and leaves one feeling completely cheated. went in telling them my fuel pump was failing. after a diagnostic test they said it needed a tune up, wires, and plugs and rotor and distributor cap, which was funny because I had replaced all that 5 months ago. he tried charging me 760$ for that I told him to kick rocks. I said how much are parts? he said 135$ for spark plugs, I said dude we need 6 plugs at 6.99 each what are you smoking? they charged me 117$ for diagnostic fee which I payed but didn't have them do anything else. place is an absolute joke do not go here read more

All of them have been pretty much unexceptional with a not so knowledgeable or helpful staff. But this Pep Boys is different. I don't know whether being located next to the Daytona International Speedway has anything to do with it or not. As I had rented the race track to test run my car, there were a few things I need and got talking with the staff here. Wow was I impressed! The staff here really knew what they were talking about and proved super helpful. Brought my car in the have the front tires replaced and have the oil changed along with general overall inspection. Tires were special order so just left my car there for a couple of days. Get a call saying my car was ready. Go get dropped off only to find out all they did was change the tires. Told me I could bring it back another day for the oil change. Being new to the area, I wanted to find a shop that would treat me well and pay attention to detail. This is NOT the shop if that's what you're looking for. This shop seems very disorganized and doesn't make their customers feel confident their vehicles are in good hands. I have a Nissan Pathfinder with well over 250,000 miles & this Pep Boys keeps it running, almost as though it was a new vehicle. Gave up on the Nissan dealership, who always attempted to up sell me. Over the years, this Pep Boys has earned my trust and respect with fair & honest pricing. They don't attempt to sell you something that you don't need. Made an appointment days in advance just to have my tires put on only to find out from an Alex that they can't take me, didn't even apologize for the inconvenience, unbelievable, didn't even call me to let me know. They will never get any business from me or my collector friends. Little did Alex know I own a dozen classic cars that always need tires. Have been a loyal pep boys customer for the last few years but no more. Quality has seemed to decline and I feel like they make up oil change prices because they never seem to be the same cost. This is my 1st trip to Daytona pep boys but probably the worst. Schedule oil change and tire rotation online for early drop off. Get an email around noon that states I need to reschedule. So I call and they hadn't even checked the drop box but made an excuse that someone hit the wrong button and they would take care of it. The day before I hit something in the road and get a gash in my side wall so I ask them to check it out. They told me they would and if there was an issue they wouldn't be able to rotate tires. Told them I understood but to let me know. Get a text that service is complete so I look at details and it states that one tires tread is wearing. So I call and ask if it's because the gash and they said no probably just alignment issue. Then ask to confirm that they rotated my tires and get put on hold so they can ask mechanic and he comes back and tells me yes they were rotated. Then I told them that I wanted to replace that tire anyway. Asked them to find a match and I'm told the closest one is in South Florida and they can't get it. Anyway, go out to truck and notice that the tires weren't rotated because the tire with the cut is still in the same spot. Go back in and they offer to do it then or another time but I don't have time for stuff like that. That's why I do drop off. I also had a report from my last oil change that I needed to replace brakes soon and this report said brakes are fine and still have life left on them. So I don't know what to believe. Not a good experience with pep boys lately. read more

My car breaks down more than I would like to admit... and every time I make sure to tow it to pep boys or have them come pick it up. Always a great experience. My last issue was it wouldn't start at random times. Brought it there and they said nothing was wrong, next day it wouldn't start again so I brought it back and they checked everything they could and replaced a few wires for free! Hasn't had the issue since and they were very accommodating and apologetic for missing it the first time. Would recommend for diagnosis or any kind of repairs. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars. I had to borrow my brothers car today when the check engine light came on. I didn't know my brother already had something under the steering column (obdll reader) plugged in. The guy must've saw it when he first came to plug in diagnostic reader because he said " I'll be right back" and left. Suspicious to say the least. He came back told me what was wrong then unplugged their reader and left. I messaged my brother right away and he said " make sure he didn't steal my obdll reader" I called right away and of course they said "oh it doesn't show on camera (Ben). The funnything is there is absolutely NO WAY to see under the dash and steering column. All ready put a call in to corporate. Give whole new meaning to the stigmata that car mechanics are "thieves". Just had the brakes fixed in my Sienna and I was so impressed that I called later to thank them which is something I've never done with a car repair shop. The price was very reasonable and the brakes feel like they did when new. I also liked the online scheduling app and the staff here are great to work with. The worse decision I ever made was coming here. I actually read some of the reviews before making an appointment. And my experience was the complete opposite of all the reviews. I made an appointment for a 3 year alignment. This location charged me for a 1 time alignment, but they claimed they couldn't fix my alignment with out changing the left and right axels. I agreed to the charges etc. I come and pick up my vehicle and same day noticed the alignment wasn't done correctly. I called to complain but what they didn't realize is that they put me in a situation because I reside in miami. I took my vehicle to pep boys when I was working in Daytona beach airport. I explained to them that I live 4 hours away. All they said was ok. They never tried to figure out how can I get my vehicle fixed at another location. I contacted corporate customer service and who ever I spoke to was the worse. So I sent a complaint via email to corporate and it was thanksgiving that they reached out to the manager to give me a call. But again I live in miami. I then reached out to the better business bureau and can't wait to update my response. I finally drove down to Daytona beach last night because I'm working at the airport again until Friday. I contact the same location where I took my vehicle to get fixed and they tell me they can't fix the issue unless I pay for another alignment because it's been past 90 days yet no where in any communication since the first time I contacted them did anyone mention a time frame. So I take the time to drive my vehicle instead of a rental to hear that they can't fix it unless I pay again , meanwhile a simple alignment last time costed me $1455 and yet they won't help me. I visited this location this morning with my fiance and soon to be mother-in-law. I originally purchased a Bosch Pro-Start battery from Pep Boys over two years ago (and hadn't had any problems until last night). Upon arrival- the 3 of us were promptly met by Tom (the customer service manager) who was really helpful, kind, courteous, and most of all patient. He checked my old battery (come to find out it had a dead cell) and even checked the new battery before we left the store. He wheeled up the new battery to the front cashier so we didn't have to carry it up to the counter ourselves. My old battery had a 3 year free replacement warranty and a 96 month pro-rated warranty, so, my battery today was completely free!! Plus, the new battery also has a 3 year warranty (amazing!). Overall- the customer service at this location is absolutely amazing, unlike with other chain auto parts stores. The staff was friendly, the store was clean, and they had lots of merchandise in stock. I will definitely come back to this location again soon!! read more

Desparately needed new brakes and went to Pep Boys as the shop was close to where I work (ISB, Daytona). Waited 5-1/2 hours (I did not have an appointment). When they finally said the brakes, rotors and wheel alignment were done, Pep Boys rep informed me that the car was complete a half hour earlier, but they had to wait for another car to move to get my car out of the garage. I had to request a detailed receipt of the work that was done. This was 11/29/18. Today 12/29/18, I took my car back (with 10 am appointment) to have the "recommended" complimentary wheel torque. (Had to show that to PB rep on their paperwork.) I also told Pep Boys that I was concerned about the rust on the rotors and that the car was making a squealing noise when I turned the steering wheel. So they performed a "brake inspection", no cost. I walked to 7-Eleven to get coffee; my car was still in the parking lot when I returned, same position. At 10:30 am, Pep Boys representative advised me that there was nothing wrong with the brakes. Rust was normal and there was no squealing noise. Everything is caused by moisture they told me. Drove immediately to my regular mechanic and asked him to inspect. He confirmed that the rust was normal for the non-coated brake cover. However, my mechanic pulled the front wheels and found a rubber bushing that was not installed correctly in a pin on the new brakes. The rubber bushing is what was causing the squealing noise. If Pep Boys in Daytona had done more than eye-ball my new brakes (if they even did that), they would have found the cause of the squealing noise. Instead, I felt they were just brushing me off. I stopped in last week having a shaking and swaying on my 2014 Dodge Journey. The staff was very helpful and quick to get me in. Later was called and told the vehicle tires needed replacement at 18k miles!! So I had them replace some filters and told them I had to go to the dealer because of the low miles and it being a new car but promised I would be back if the dealer did not help. Of course I bought the vehicle at Daytona Dodge and they have been nothing but terrible service. Buy a car and then they forget who you are...... so I returned to Pep Boys and hour later they got the car done exactly at 4:30 as promised and it rides like new again. What a peace of mind to end my already bad week. Aaron was so polite. It's nice to know that I now know where I can go to get things fixed. I only stayed so long because the show on the TV was so interesting which is why they get two stars. I made an appointment for Saturday on the Tuesday previous ... when I arrived for the appointment, they hadn't even ordered the parts with four days lead time! Then, they charged me for THREE wipers (there are only two wiper arms, you know) of TWO different brands. I only discovered this when I demanded a detailed receipt and went through it after I got home. When I phoned back about it, he said he had no idea how he did that but he would process an immediate refund to my card. "immediately" must mean different things so I called back today and the new guy said "you have to come in person for a refund" so the first guy must have been a liar and/or an idiot. When I came back to the original location they would not accept the new card and I was met with shortness and rudeness by the employees who where unwilling to work with me.
