I asked, "did he ring the doorbell?" to which the customer service rep says "yes, it says he rang the doorbell twice". Bewildered, I run downstairs and test my doorbell, and at which time the doorbell chimes and both of our dogs bark wildly. Hmmm, so my dogs didn't hear the doorbell either? Now, 3 weeks later, following our honeymoon, we finally get a tech out to our rental and turns out, the furnace is broken! Snow it's cold inside and I have to wait for heat even longer while a tech comes and fixes our furnace. It's almost like I scheduled this 3 weeks earlier JUST IN CASE there was an issue. Now, I'm left in a cold townhome with no heat and no idea what the hell I'm supposed to do. Thank you to the USELESS technician that never even showed up to my house. Thank you for making sure the day we show up back from our honeymoon can be so frustrating. PSNC, make your people have some damn accountability and stop using this stupid monopoly as an excuse to not give a shit about your customers.

However, 6 months later I notice that I've had $15 charges for PSNC taken from my bank account each month. I didn't notice before because I don't use the account as much and it's such a small amount. Well, I called them and said I closed my service 6 months ago and moved out, why am I being charged? Low and behold, they have no record of my scheduled closing! Shocking! I got a final bill for $58, I have spent $150 on gas for the current tenant. Can't get my old landlord (Gaskill Realty in case you wonder) or the current tenant to return my calls or pay me back. Those idiots didn't apparently think it was their responsibility to put their utilities in their own name. So, I'm eating the money because PSNC is a bunch of incompetent idiots, just like my old landlord. So glad that my new home I'm buying doesn't use gas, I'll never have to pay these morons a cent again.

I rate Duke Energy three stars. It's OK…read more We've been Duke Energy customers in Chapel Hill since June 2020, so for about four years now. I also have a residence in Atlanta and have been a Georgia Power customer there since 2001, at two different Atlanta homes. My three-star rating for Duke Energy is based on comparisons of my experiences between Duke Energy and Georgia Power. It comes down to two main things: 1. I've experienced way more power outages with Duke Energy than with Georgia Power. It's not even close. There have been more outages in four years with Duke Energy than in 23 years with Georgia Power. I know there are many factors that can make some homes more susceptible to outages than others. The places I've lived in Atlanta are more urban and dense than where we live in Chapel Hill, but Chapel Hill isn't in the boonies either. In Chapel Hill, we live close to I-40, apartment complexes, shopping centers, and office parks. Also, the terrain and weather in Chapel Hill and Atlanta are similar. Therefore, it comes down to Duke Energy's grid simply being not as reliable as Georgia Power's. Duke Energy also has a lot of random power blips, which is annoying. 2. When there's a power outage, Duke Energy's mean time to repair is poor. I've experienced multiple outages where it took several hours per outage for power to be restored. On August 15-16, 2023, it took about 24 hours for power to be restored. I lost over a full workday because of it. Because I've experienced so many outages over the last four years, I've grown accustomed to the company's outage alerts, their online outage map, and I even follow Duke Energy employee Jeff Brooks on X (Twitter) for outage information: https://x.com/DE_JeffB Again, in 23 years with Georgia Power at two different homes, I can't recall experiencing any sort of extended outage. If there even is an outage, most of the time, it's just a blip. And I haven't gotten familiar with any of Georgia Power's outage alerts or tools -- because I haven't had to. As a retail customer, Duke Energy has had slightly lower electricity bills than Georgia Power. However, the difference is on the order of magnitude of about 1¢/kWh (not significant). Also, Duke Energy sent us a "free" box of 16 energy-efficient LED light bulbs (9W soft white, 60W equivalent) for being new subscribers back in 2020. That was nice. After four years, I've used seven of the 16 bulbs. We live near the Chapel Hill-Durham border, which is also near the Orange County-Durham County border. These two Triangle cities and counties, along with other Triangle cities and counties (e.g., Raleigh, Wake County, Chatham County) are in Duke Energy Carolinas and Duke Energy Progress overlapped territories. Duke Energy Carolinas is the old Duke Power that I grew up knowing in Guilford County. Duke Energy Progress is the old Progress Energy, which was the combination of the old Carolina Power & Light (headquartered in Raleigh) and Florida Power Corporation. The old Duke Power was and Duke Energy today is headquartered in Charlotte. According to our apartment's management, our complex is served by DEP. I'm on disability and have a fairly tight budget, therefore, I have to watch my pennies....literally! After returning home, I open my bill and they are charging just a little less than my neighbor who was home full time and utilizing her gas. I called, complained and they sent someone out to see if there were any leaks. He found none! Relit my pilot light or so it seemed. I left for the weekend and came home to a freezing house. I called PSNC and told them that the pilot light was not lit or did not stay lit and they refused to come back.These people want to charge $100.00 to come back and light it! So, here I sit in a freezing home and a bill for gas that I did not use. They have very poor service and I would say the meter is old and needs to be recalibrated OR this gas company has found a way to cheat people out of money! Thank God, I'm moving soon and won't have to put up with these thieves much longer!

Some of the library amenities are study rooms, research guides and printing services. I find it amazing that they are even open 24 hours a day some days of the week. This library was one of my favorite places on campus when I was a student and now with its upgrades I appreciate it more now as an alumni. Used to a large selection of books, UNC-Charlotte specializes in helping their students as there are hundreds of computers, printers, scanners, rooms, study capsules, meeting rooms, and even electronic draw boards on tables. This is what I'd expect and worth a visit before deciding where you take your studies as the high tuition prices drive most away. A beautiful campus of luxury that is well-kept up I can confirm the location, accessibility, resources, and service given is at par of not more than what you pay yearly.
