Mugsy's has pretty good food. On different occasions, I've had BBQ chicken, ribs, and pulled pork sandwich, and they were all very good and filling. I know people that swear by their wings, but I've never had them myself. Lots of televisions to catch multiple games on, although some of the seating is in awkward places to get good viewing angles. Keep that in mind if you're going there to watch a certain game. It can seem a bit cramped when it's busy, but when it's a little less full it's got a nice atmosphere. read more

A few fellow he men and I went here because there was quite a buzz about the food and the wait staff. I was recommended to stay away from the roast beef but I thought what the hay.....why not? The roast beef was not to my liking and I feel like the beef had just seen better days. I really had some serious bubblin' about 33 minutes and 50 seconds into it. Catherine did a fantastic job serving all the men at the table. She really was a giver. I feel like she just had a lot of experience and was a master of her craft. It's a nice place. Clean. I came up from Florida and know no one in here, but was treated kind and friendly. I had a BLT, which was good but kinda hard to mess one up, plenty of bacon. Someone who appeared to be a regular was kind and helpful. Haven't ate here in awhile. But seems more as a bar environment, uncomfortable. The hostess was friendly though.

I was not happy with my experience. They did not have three of the liquors I wanted in my drink so I compromised and had flavored vodka and Malibu coconut, which ran me over ten dollars a drink. They had jus ran out of the food I wanted to order also. So once again compromised and was not satisfied. I eat out on a daily basis and will probably never go back. read more

I come here all the time with my family for pizza and chicken chunks. Both are excellent. Clean and pleasant environment very suitable for kids and families. Service is always good. They have several big screen TVs however, it would not be my first choice for watching sports unless I sat at the bar. read more

The layout of Mugsys is where the pool table and the jukebox is to the right of the entrance then to the left from the entrance is the restaurants seating and then in the front is the bar.The meal I got was a taco salad although when I got it had vegetables that weren't listed on the items description or they just put the wrong mix of vegetables in it I don't know. Mugsys has a lot of decoration which gives it character which I thought was pretty creative but the lighting wasn't the best I thought Mugsys was all in all quite decent. read more

Had stopped for the night in this town, decided to give this place a try as it looked like our kind of place. I got the boneless wings which were very good. My girlfriend got a burger which was nothing special, meat tasted kind of low quality. Her drink was made wrong twice, she ordered a gin and tonic and was served a well vodka and tonic. She ordered a second and again specified what she wanted and the server gave her the same thing. We didn't know exactly what it was that she was served until we got the bill. Server was very incompetent, she wasn't writing anything down so she had to ask us to repeat our orders, and a couple of times even had to return to the table bc she forgot what we ha been ordered. We then played a couple games of pool, ended up leaving around midnight or a little after because we were the only customers there and they were closing up. Kind of disappointed as it said online they would be open until 2. Wouldn't recommend the place, and wouldn't return if we were ever back in Monroe, but it wasn't a bad experience. read more

Gotta say...I like this place...been in here many times but never to eat...but I did eat the last 2 times I was here, and the menu is large and the food is very, very good. I had the BBQ Pork with fries one time and fried fish with fries with chicken noodle soup. I brought up their menu online and checked it out...many things I want to try. When my wife and I had lunch there, the waitstaff was rude. When I talked to the owner he blew me off. As we were leaving he saw us at the door. I had mentioned to him that I posted our experience online. This made him very angry. He put his hands on me and told me that it's best that I go home! It sounded like a threat to me. Save yourself the trouble. Less than average food and average service. Hard to mess up BLT but they did. Lousy bacon. Kettle chips from a bag not made there. Not worth the money and certainly you will be glad you didn't waste time eating crappy food. Corn beef scraps on our sandwich. Not even whole slices. That sandwich was actually terrible. Portion size was small. My food came out medium temperature thought prices were average. Been there twice same experience.

The staff was extremely welcoming to us. Shane and Christin took the time to make sure our experience there met our approval. Bad experience, have eaten here many times over last five years always good experience until this past Friday. Went to have their all-you-can-eat cod dinner which is usually very good. I ordered a tall (large) beer, the waitress/owner (Kristen) brought me a half a beer in the large mug and told me the keg ran out and see would take care of it when the new keg was tapped. She came back 15 minutes later with a small eight ounce beer, I would have thought she would have filled my mug (which I only had taken two sips from) as a courtesy. OK, not a big deal, I then ordered my fish which when served came as three little small pieces, again not a big deal as I figured I would get another serving since its all-you-can-eat. After waiting half an hour for my second helping I had lost my appetite and no desire to finish the fish so I asked for my bill and a to-go box which is when the waitress told me they do not give out boxes for a second order. I was very disappointed but still left a tip which is the last time they see my money. I had a good experience there for many visits, but if this is the way the owner treats her customers she'll have less of them. read more
