This was the first time my wife and I visited Seared. She ordered the sirloin and I ordered the double bone pork chop. We both added the Brussel sprouts. The waitress brought us bread as we waited. The bread had a very nice seasoning on top and was warm and moist. Our food arrived shortly after and my wife loved her steak and the Brussel sprouts were top notch. My wife steak was cooked exactly as she ordered and was flavorful and tender. My pork chops came out with a very nice deep bourbon, flavorful sauce and were tender and juicy. I tend to order pork chops at the many steakhouse restaurants we have visited and these were on par with the best. At the end of our meal, my wife ordered the creme brulee. Went here for the first time last night with a friend and it will be our last time. Service was good from start to finish. Also the bread they bring out to everyone was the best part of the meal. Everything else sadly fell flat. We each got the prime rib special, medium rare. They came out with grill marks on them. Both medium to medium well at best. Worst part is that it was overcooked and not that warm. Dinner came out so quick we both didn't finish our salads. Which was fine as my friend said her ceaser salad just tasted like mayo. Got dessert and it was equally disappointing for my friend. Her creme brûlée was frozen in the middle. We started coming here a few months ago we brought our parents and our daughter fiancé. We all enjoy this restaurant. This last experience was not one of the better ones. Some confusion and issues. Asparagus way overcooked but it taste good. Our appetizer didn't come out but they ended up taking care of us on that. The one thing that I really wish is that the servers would ask if we were part of the Rewards program. We have been there at least three times that we have not used our phone number for the Rewards. Two of which were over $100 purchases and I'm a little bummed about that because I would like to get my points And for some reason I can't get it in my head that seared has points so I'm always forgetting. Our first visit since the remodel. I loved the ambiance and low lighting. We were seated in front of the bar. It was fine until someone off the street came in and sat behind us at the bar in their Oil Change attire after work. I consider this place upscale for Toledo. The food was delicious, New York Strip cooked to perfection, Filet Lollipops were great! The area behind the bar has large screen and it doesn't make sense for the atmosphere. Came from out of town to visit my Mom. Had high hopes but, in the end, was very unhappy. The Good - cocktails, Caesar, and Brussel Sprouts. The Bad - The both steaks - Sirloin and Filet were extremely under cooked (rare) and not even close to medium. One went back to be cooked more and they brought out a new one that was rare again. This was my first time at Seared. I loved the atmosphere and the strawberry martini was excellent. I ordered a filet, cooked to medium, but what arrived was totally uncooked except for the outside edges. It was completely raw towards the center. My son and daughter-in-law were with me for their second time at Seared, and her filet was also uncooked, not the medium she requested. For the price, it was disappointing. That being said, I will probably return to try another meal, because our server was excellent and the restaurant itself is beautiful. I'm hoping my next visit will be more successful. read more

It was my first time dining at Seared. I must say that our service by Celissa (sp?) couldn't have been better. She was friendly and attentive without being overbearing- absolutely perfect! The ambiance, which I noticed later, was pleasant with dim lighting. Nothing of awe, but pleasant enough. Bread was superb- warm soft and delicious. The food was overall good. I'll speak to my entree, which was linguine with scallops and shrimp in a lemon vinaigrette sauce. It was good but somehow not amazing. I had ordered asparagus as an extra side. The asparagus was chopped up so I'm not really sure how many stalks I got for the extra price. I was pretty hungry after not eating all day so ate my dinner with no leftovers. Wish I had taken pics, but was meeting up with friends I hadn't seen in a while that were more important than the food. I would recommend giving this place a try. The service was awesome. Way to go Lauren! The ambiance is also very nice. Clean and well kept. The food, for the most was on point. However, the strip steak and house strip are very different (at least tonight). I got the regular menu strip steak and it was 10/10. My wife ordered the house strip, which is marinated. It was one of the toughest, most gristly steaks we've ever had! I just don't get it. If you're going to have a house steak, please don't put out junk like this. We both had chopped salads and they were excellent. I had the baked cauliflower (6/10) and wife had Brussels sprouts. She liked, I did not. Too sweet for me. I hope to come back, but the a la carte prices and gamey strip may delay that. read more

We had a large group of twenty four people in our reservation. Our head waitress did an awesome job taking drink orders. She toor our dinner orders. No one in our group complained about their food when served. Our dishes were looked and tasted just fine and pricing is fair. The two things that I didn't like was eighteen of us got our dinners well six waited until the rest us were almost finished. Timing in the kitchen is important . I like the presentation of their French fries served in a little basket on your plate. What I didn't like was the fries themselves. Fries should be crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Not a limply noodle. All and all I'm am going to go back and try them with a much smaller group. Give them a try read more

From memory, this has been a few other places over the last few years. Berdoni's, Barrada's, Zacharia's and now Seared. For some reason, it must be a tough location to make it. The building isn't very large, so the tables would have to turn over pretty quickly. They do have sufficient parking and it's on a major road that's adjacent to a very large neighborhood. It's nice inside and the staff was very friendly and appeared to know what they're doing. No issues there. What about the food? Before I get to the edibles. Let's talk about the tipples... I've given up on Martinis. Unless one goes to a place that's been around since 1965, you're not going to get an acceptable one. That said, if you want one with chocolate, raspberry, espresso powder and lots of simple syrup or a peppermint stick swizzle - you know, Nestle's Quick and vodka (uh-oh, going off on a tangent, soon to become a rage, spawned out of frustration...). Argh! I ordered a Manhattan and it was fine. They used their well whiskey, Four Roses, which is a fine whiskey for a well whiskey, and had the proportions right. One of our dining partners did order a martini and deemed it to be fine, but the olives had an off taste. The other 2 ordered iced tea and water. Cocktails are just under $10 bucks each with well booze. Edibles... We skipped the apps. Nothing really jumped out and they all started at $10.00 and went up from there. I had the strip steak. Not my favorite cut, but not $40.00+++. It's the "house steak", so I figured if they deemed it as such, they must be proud of it. After all, it's marinated for 24 hours, so the typically dry, tasteless strip should be pretty good. Not sure what the marinade is/was, but it had no flavor. It was cooked as ordered (mid-rare), but there was zero taste. The plate had some type of sauce on it (it wasn't juice from the cooked steak), with a knob of melted butter mixed in. I couldn't figure out what it was (attempt at a bordelaise or a different wine sauce?). No flavor and not very appetizing. It looked like fake blood. One dining partner had a seafood pasta that looked really nice, another had the chopped salad with steak (for some reason that's an off menu thing, and this is a steak house), and the last dining companion had Caesar salad and a bowl of French Onion soup. The soup had a sour taste to it, but the salads were OK. The bill for the 4 of us, with tip was almost $200.00. Not sure a night out is worth that. I could have made a really nice surf and turf for us and saved $50 or $60 bucks. I really feel for folks that own restaurants. It's an incredibly tough business and this is an incredibly tough town to be in that "biz." Folks in Toledo have an endless supply of choices for dining options and most of us know really good food. We're not going to pay a king's ransom for a good meal and thanks to competitors, expectations are high. Better be on your "A" game out of the gate because 2nd chances rarely happen in this town. read more

Came in on a Thursday night before a concert at The Stranahan Theatre. I must say, I hesitated when I saw they were new, opened on November 20th, today is November 30th. First things first, we made a reservation for two in advance and upon our arrival we were informed they didn't have any seating for two except at the bar, so we sat at the bar. We were greeted promptly by the bar tender and ordered a couple of martinis with fresh blue cheese. They were delicious and reasonably priced, even with the grey goose premium up charge! We relaxed and reviewed the menu, the bartender asked if we would like some bread and we did. It was warm and the butter tasted like it had oregano and garlic seasoning in it. We couldn't decide between the grouper or walleye so asked for guidance and when informed by the bartender that she wasn't really a fish lover but she had tried the fried grouper we opted for the blackened walleye. It was delicious, prepared perfectly, not overcooked. We had asparagus as our side and it too was great. We added a side chopped salad and it was underwhelming for the price. Overall we enjoyed our time here and the ambiance was nice. Bar atmosphere, very dark and cozy. Worth a try if you're in the area. read more

I tried Seared for the first time for a late afternoon work dinner and was highly disappointed with the food BUT The service from the bartender was superb & her drinks were top-notch! I would return just for her drinks. I had the lump crab cakes. They had a good citrus taste but I didn't care for the bread coating and once you broke into the appetizer - it was super dry and crumbly. I could've scooped it up with a spoon because the fork was useless. The accompanying sauce was too salty. I also had the stuffed mushrooms. Didn't like the cream cheese filling they used to stuff the mushrooms so those went uneaten. Finally, my entree arrived. I ordered sautéed shrimp with a baked potato. Again a waste: the shrimp were bland with barely any seasoning. My potato was cold. Overall very disappointed with the food but I'd definitely return for the martini! read more

I have eaten there and did take out twice. The ribeye steak is the best steak in the city. The meal comes with one side, but the baked potatoes are huge and tasty. I have to do take out as my friend is home bound. I was disappointed that they would not give us the 4 shrimp special on Tuesdays. It was her birthday. The manager said No and made me call back in 5 minutes to order because not open until 4:00. Otherwise the service was great and take out was packaged excellent. They microwaved my wife's French onion soup. The olives in our martini tasted spoiled. They charged $18 for the martini which was very tiny serving. The creole was seasoned salt and paprika... wtf? They were out of an appetizer that we wanted, which happens, but it would have been nice to know when we were originally greeted by our server. The French onion soup was bland which was surprising since most places serve it way too salty. The strip steak my husband ordered was undercooked but it had good flavor. My $19 bacon cheeseburger was ok. I subbed a side of asparagus instead of fries and the asparagus was so thin it felt like eating weeds. The young lady that waited on us never asked us if we wanted to refill or anything told me they had chicken and rice soup and it was chicken noodle soup. I will never go back to that place.
