The best wings, good onion rings and the cheeseballs are to die for :)......what else can i say. Delivery can be 30 minutes if they are not busy but a lot longer if they are. cheeseballs are absolutely delish at this place i always make sure to order some when i go here. its also nice that the atmosphere isnt so unbelievably loud that you cant talk to other people sitting at the bar and the prices on drinks are really decent too. And then on top of that this place has a lot of decent specials going on so theres always a decent item that is reasonably priced. I will be back next semester for sure. kudos to mugsy's!! read more

One would think I'd learned my lesson but no. As a lifelong resident of Bloomington Normal - affectionately referred to as "townies" there are certain places that hold nostalgia for us. Mugsy's is such a place. So because it's apart of our home, we tolerate more than we should and make excuses for what any other rational human being would consider bad service. The manager Phil has more than likely worked and operated for many years and as the town grows and changes it's (not really) understandable that long-standing residents have certain biases and prejudices against certain areas and sides of town. However when it's been proven that a previous problem has been all be eradicated, it's then considered willfully ignorant to ignore improvements and efforts toward customer retention. Even when customer literally go out of their way to show how much they love the food, management still makes them feel less than valued. Danny the driver however was kind and courteous and I thank him for making a disheartening situation somewhat better. I hope Phil the manager learns how to speak and interact with customer. I had 2 bad experiences ordered food spent $50.00 only for my food to arrive hour and a half later food cold sawgy fries. I ordered a second time again I spend $50.00 my wings were under cooked so I call and ask for a manager and the man says I am the manager and I tell him what happened he says I'll send you More food I said OK so I hang up and call right back and he answered and I asked him could I change the sauce he replied no your getting the same thing then I ask who is the owner he replied Phil and said Phil cause it was loud in the background and he spells Phil and he was very rude . Great service. The wings are great too. If you go, try the chicken dip. It is shredded chicken on a roll with some cheese. I like to add grilled onion. It comes with a chicken aus ju that can be a little salty. But the sandwich is great. Their pork tenderloin sandwich is another good one. read more

We loved this place and ordered regularly on Wednesday's for the BONE IN .60 cent deal. Today was no different (as it's Wednesday). We ordered 48 BONE IN wings of selected flavors and not only were we charged for BONELESS, they sent us BONELESS..... after we specifically said on the phone we WANT BONE IN FOR THE BONE IN WEDNESDAY SPECIAL. Like who orders MUGSYS DELIVERY FOR WINGS ON WEDNESDAY AND DOESN'T DO THE DEAL? I don't know if it was then trying to over charge or just a mistake but I'm over it. Don't eat here its horrible. The service is terrible. We ordered cheese balls poppers and a double cheese burger and a philly cheese steak all at the same time. The appetizers came out pretty quickly, but it took another 45 minutes to get the rest of our food. They were not busy as there were only 5 tables to serve. The burger was burnt and not made with real meat it had to have been frozen. There was barely any meat on the philly, and the only thing you could taste was the hard crunchy bread and the green pepper and mushrooms. When the server came by she didn't ask how the food was just asked if we wanted a box as she handed us the check. We had to wait another 10 minutes to pay our bill and when we voiced our opinions they offered $3 off of our $35 bill. That was only after the waitress confirmed we didn't hardly eat our food. Absolutley terrible service from this restaurant! Recently I went in and waited 30 minutes to place an order, after the bartender had already provided me with a menu and said he would be right back. I was sitting in a booth by the bar, waiving at the bar tender, and he would not look at me. He was just chit chatting with the people sitting at the bar, and totally forgot about me. I finally got up and walked out without ordering. Today, some friends at work placed a large order that included my 20 piece wing order from their online menu. When it arrived, it was only 12 wings. I paid $20 for these! We called to tell Mugsy's and nobody there would believe us. They insisted that they cooked and delivered 24 wings. I told them that I ordered a large order which should have 20 (as the menu says) and they said they always deliver 12 or 24, not 10 or 20 like the menu says. So they sent me a small order, but I paid for a large order, and they would do nothing to make it right! And, the wings were very much like the 9/28/2017 review says - barely warm, and very greasy. I used to love this place and their food. On my last visit I was offended so much by both a creepy old guy patron and my own server that I will never go back. As usual the wings were great and everything else was mediocre. As we were getting ready to leave I left my wife and her girlfriend at the table while I went to to use the restroom. Apparently one of their regulars decided to take my seat at the table even though the ladies objected. The server noticed all this and said nothing. When I returned from the restroom I had to run the guy off to the bar. While I was busy telling him that it isn't OK for him to creep on young women the server told me " it's alright. He does that to lots of girls. We just let it slide." I'll never give them another one of my dollars. This scumbag regular has apparently got the right to harass young female customers. Ate here today at approximately 4pm, food/service was okay all around. My girlfriend left her credit card here and was from out of town. She had left town already when realized she left her credit card here. I went back to pick it up around 6, but as I wasn't her they would not give me the card. I do appreciate their cause for protecting a customer but would figure they would try to help out seeing as she/we would not be back for several months and this was a unique circumstance. As I had her on the phone we thought she could send a photo of her ID, I had asked the manager to confirm we were there together earlier(our server was still there I know she remembered me), tried to have him speak with her on the phone, etc. He would not bother to take the extra time to help us out in this circumstance. Needless to say we gave up, as the manager lacked any ability to empathize or reason..let alone use common sense. Obviously he didnt care and it was wasting his time to put any extra effort towards helping us to confirm who she was or even being able to mail the card based on her ID. Just cancelling the card as next time we may be in town do not want to go back there nor give them any addional business ...let alone money. read more

I'm in love with the wings here. Any flavor you order is good. Perfect amount of sauce and crispy every time. Their burgers and other appetizers (try the fried cauliflower) are on point too but I always seem want the wings. Service is just ok. Hit and miss at times but I can deal as long as the food is that good. read more

Service is good, food is delicious, and the beer is cold! I'm not often in Bloomington, but definitely a destination for me! It's a cross between a townie bar and a college bar, which I'm not a fan of either one honestly. But this place is one of the very few exceptions and I'm happy to go back! read more

Ordered chipotle and garlic parmesan wings with fries to go. Wings were excellent... Some of the best in town! And the price on Tuesdays can't be beat. But good thing I ordered them to go... Sitting at the bar was uncomfortable for many reasons. Staff was a bit negligent and unattentive. Granted, I didn't call ahead, but I waited a full 30 minutes for my small order. Maybe the kitchen was backed up, but there didn't seem to be many other customers ordering food. Sitting there for an extended period allowed me to notice quite a few things, such as a jar of eyeballs and a petrified fetus among the liquor. It's not Halloween anymore! Frankly I lost my appetite a bit. The television in front of my seat was flickering and appeared to be near broken. Other customers seemed to be impatient with the staff as well... One woman even began yelling loudly for the bartender, which was uncomfortable for everyone. Finally I received my food, which was in a styrofoam tower held together with masking tape. I went to school in Bloomington, and nothing makes me feel like I'm back in college more than cramming into a booth with whoever I'm visiting and ordering cheese balls and a pitcher of Miller Lite. Just ordered delivery from here. What a disappointment. We ordered at 6:45 and the guy showed up at 8:20. The food was lukewarm, there were no napkins, no plastic wear, and no condiments whatsever included in the bag, and my BBQ chicken sandwich was basically completely plain. No tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, mayo...nothing. Just a tiny bit of BBQ sauce and a bun. The fries were cold and hard. Just pathetic. I almost feel like we inconvenienced them just by ordering. Food (appetizer and chicken dip) was pretty decent but the crowd is a bit too college for me. By too college I mean the serving staff are young and not friendly to patrons. The bar tender will more than likely skip juke box songs you paid for if they don't like them. I think I will go to McDonald's next time I want to go out with some friends for an appetizer. Horrible customer service!! The food was disgusting!! The burger was pink!! The driver was rude and the manager was a nightmare.. They told me I have to wait days for a refund and the manager kept saying he was going to deal with his employee for messing up. But maybe if you trained your employees correctly then they wouldnt make huge mistakes. And the driver was so rude.. I went here once. Like Lucca, I have heard years of reviews but can only help but notice it is a Pub right by a college campus and never wanted to try it, but I heard the wings were awesome. I went with my neighbors one Bloody Mary needed Sunday because everything else was closed and decided to try it out. There was a huge kitchen, but the food was just like Pub II, Schooners and every other frozen food dive bar everywhere. The place was dirty and dimly lit even at 12 o'clock noon and the Bloody Mary was... tomato juice, vodka and an olive... McCormicks. I was never asked if I might prefer something else. The only real positive was that my waitress was attractive and when she dropped the bill she playfully said, "I can always add more," which is just about the funniest, best, most professional AND most casual way to drop a bill that I have ever heard. So I did add one more just because. Well done! I have never went back. read more
