Got take out for once. Same amazing flavors. Good size portion -- the chicken fed me for three meals! Friendly staff.

First time to try their eggplant with tofu . And it did not disappoint me .

The BEST Sweet and Sour Pork . Fast service . Although the restaurant is an old building and interior is a bit outdated , they maintained its cleanliness .

This review is in between 3-4 stars. Mui Garden has been around for many many years. There is limited parking stalls on the ground floor but you can always go up the ramp for more parking on level 2. Don't expect any service from Mui Garden and I've always found the servers to be rather rude (yet they still expect their tips at the end...LMAO). I'm usually here for the exact same dishes: 1) Curry beef brisket - at $18, the portion was on the small side. There were only a couple pieces of beef. However, the taste itself is amazing and I'm already missing the taste as i write this post. The curry differs from other similar restaurant and I've been trying to find a cheaper alternative throughout the years but have had no luck finding one that is even comparable to Mui's version. Their version is creamy and has got a distinct taste to it. 2) Yang Chow fried rice - at $16, again, the portion was on the smaller side too when compared to competitors. I'm not a fan of fried rices but I can totally eat a plate of Mui's Yang Chow fried rice by myself! Mui has increased the prices by quite a lot since the last time I was here and I no longer think it's that affordable considering the portion they gave you. Plus I always have to deal with their poor customer service and it's not the first time that they'd throw the bill and changes at you. However, due to the near-"mandatory" tipping culture that we have in North America... I don't even want to go on this rant again.

Used to be one of the top restaurants for curry dishes, now sadly it's just less than ok I tried the Burnaby location and it seems to be better

Great value for a casual family meal, lots of choices. We chose the 5 dishes meal (includes free pot of soup, rice and dessert) and the portions are generous and everything was piping hot and delicious. We also ordered iced lemon teas and milk teas - all excellent. Ordered: - honey garlic spare ribs - garlic pea tips (+$2) (so tender!) - curry beef brisket - minced pork with eggplant and silky egg tofu - braised rock cod with tofu in hotpot - 6 chicken satay skewers

Day 6 of posting Yelp Reviews that rhyme I recently visited Mui Garden in Richmond, BC And let me tell you, it was a treat for me The curry beef brisket, oh so tasty The fried salmon head, oh so easy The Hainan chicken was amazing as well I could eat it every day, I can never dwell On how delicious it was, it was such a treat I'll definitely be returning, that's a feat The service was very fast, I must admit I was in and out, no time to sit There were lots of people, but that's no surprise Mui Garden is a popular spot, that's no lies They only accept debit or cash, that's fine I don't mind, as long as the food is divine And at Mui Garden, it certainly is I give it a full five star rating, no quizzes!

I was recommended to try this restaurant's beef curry so I stopped by and ordered #3 - Beef Curry Brisket on Rice. The curry was good and had a really nice coconut flavour to it. It didn't look like a lot of food or beef overall, but it was more than enough for one meal. The briskets were nice cuts of meat as well. Note that there was a giant piece of potato with it and there wasn't really any flavour in the middle due to the size.

Hong Kong style cafe restaurant on Minoru Blvd and Firbridge Way. It's very close to the busy intersection of No. 3 Rd. and Westminster Hwy, but you'd never know the restaurant is there if you just stuck to the main Rds. It's in a small building that has some parking up front and another 20 or so parking spots on the roof of the building. Went on a weekend for dinner and the place was crowded. Waited about 5-10 minutes for a table. Mid size restaurant, dated decor. The menu is large like most HK style cafes. You have noodles, rice, pasta, curry, and traditional Cantonese dishes as well. For dinner, you can get entree combos where you get 3 or more entree dishes and they'll throw in the daily soup and rice. We got the 4 dish combo, and tried their Hainan chicken, walnut shrimp, cod and tofu pot, and salt and pepper pork. All of them tasted pretty decent. Nothing stood out as being out of the ordinary delicious, but everything tasted as they were supposed to taste. Portions are not huge, but for the price it's fine. The three of us end up finishing most of the food with a little bit of leftover. Price was $80-90.

We had not planned to eat at Mui Garden Restaurant, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Initially, on our last day in Canada, we had planned to get dim sum and attempted to eat at a few places nearby; but we learned that it was Family Day and every dim sum place was packed. Needing sustenance before hitting the road we just decided on nearby Mui Garden because we were already in the area, the place wasn't at all crowded and they had Malaysian food! With that said, nothing else matters, but the Beef Curry! You have to get the beef curry! It's amazing and one of the best curries I've had. I had the Beef Brisket Curry Noodle Soup while my boyfriend had the Beef Brisket Curry with Rice. Curry had a thick, creamy texture with lots of flavor and the brisket was incredibly tender and juicy! YUM! On a cold day I was craving some noodle soup, so loved that I could enjoy the Beef Brisket Curry with rice noodles and a broth mixed with the curry, just what I needed and more. The beef brisket curry had yukon gold potatoes with, so was wonderful over a mound of rice! We weren't expecting much with Mui Garden Restaurant, but it served fantastic beef brisket curry with lots of other Chinese and Malaysian dishes. Just note that it's either cash only or Canadian debit. Private parking lot is located right out front and is behind a shopping complex's garage. Don't judge a book by its cover, especially in this instance. Mui Garden proved to be better than expected.

Mui Garden Last visit 3/29/19 After a few visits Pork, carrot & kidney bean soup (Chinese style). Perfectly salted, very clean tasting. Surprising since most Chinese restaurants the clear soups tend mild and underwhelming; this is in the tradition of the long simmering, more intensely flavoured soups. 3.75-4 stars. The Malaysian style beef brisket curry: very mild (non spicy) but delicious; the beef itself is very lean, gristle & fat free. The curry is very similar to Deer Garden's, not quite as coconutty but every bit as good (and large... We can never finish and always have about half leftover, at either restauarant). 4.5 stars. Stir fried fish (cod) with veggies (gai lan) was also spot on; fresh, perfectly cooked fish with fresh veggies (gai lan this time, 4.25-4.5 stars. We actually ordered pea tips (which are delicious and buttery here 4.5 stars) but as they were sold out, they graciously allowed us to add fish to gai lan. We ordered the dinner for 2 (you pick 2 dishes and they include rice and soup of the day).  We added 6 chicken satay sticks, which were also delicious and properly cooked (maybe a hair over, but with chicken you want slightly overcooked vs slightly under); it was nice having an entire plate with peanut sauce, fresh cucumber and pineapple. Satay sticks 4.25 stars. The dinner set also included dessert; most places offer hot red bean 'soup', which I don't care for (my wife does, but at most places it's too bland to enjoy); Mui Garden served us a sweet bean curd dessert, which she loved, and I found pleasant. 4 stars. Total bill for 2 was $55.40 after tax, before tips, but we had loads of leftovers. Pretty good value, and solid food (been here a few times, so far consistently good. Unfortunately only took pics last visit) Parking is a bit of a pain (rooftop parking is cramped, and there's very little street level parking. Overall 9.0/10, 4.5 stars.

I used to come here often with friends and families for breakfast and wanted to see whether it still tasted just as good. We each got two items from the breakfast combo, A through D. A to Cs are our usual options and upgrade to French toast. The eggs were somewhat on the drier side and i personally prefer fluffy ones. The beef noodles and the congee continue to be my favorites. The beef noodle broth is flavorful and the congee definitely comforted my soul. The items listed in D are always a miss. We have tried all items and none of them was delicious. For example, the steamed rice rolls were very doughy. Other times, they were very dry. The items in D sometimes felt like they're frozen dim sum items sold at grocery stores. Service is a hit or miss depending on which server you get. Sometimes you get servers who come and refill tea and provides actual service. Other times, no one comes by at all even when there is no tea in cups, etc.

The dessert at the end was a surprise. Expecting red bean soup but got a Chinese jello instead. Prawns were amazing too. Salted egg flavour and sweet and sour pork had wok hei! Service could be a bit slower but it's a Chinese restaurant. So i get it. Everything was gooood! Portions were generous and the taste on point. The washrooms could use a bit of cleaning as well as the flooring...so had to take away a star. Would go back for sure! Overall tho, good comfort Chinese food at reasonable prices. Cheers! When I found out they had a location in Empire Centre, we headed there just after they opened at 9:00... and no line?!? We ordered their famous scrambled eggs with fish cutlet and toast, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The eggs were incredibly soft and creamy which was reminiscent of omurice. The fish cutlet was perfectly fried (crispy on the outside and flaky inside) which paired beautifully with the savoury onion sauce. We also had the pineapple bun with satay beef, which was another winner. The sweet, fluffy bun and rich, savoury satay filling were a perfect combination. Salty and sweet! Of course, no Hong Kong café experience is complete without Hong Kong milk tea, and Cha Don's version was excellent... smooth, rich, and exactly what you'd hope for. It's easy to see why there's always a lineup (which started right after we got our food). Great execution of Hong Kong café classics, friendly service, and food that's well worth making the trip for. I can definitely see myself coming back.

We went around 1pm and surprisingly they ran out of a lot of options including the baked pork chop rice that I really wanted to try. Despite that, we still gave this place a try since there is barely a line, very unusual for this place. We ended up with the scallion chicken noodle (breakfast item), satay beef vermicelli (breakfast item), and black pepper baked filet over rice. These are stuff out of what I usually get, but I still enjoyed them. The scallion chicken dish was $15 which is a bit steep especially given the chicken is tiny but comes with hot drink. The chicken is a grilled chicken with skin which is flavorful, though the noodles were a bit underseasoned so it is ideal to add the sauce from the chicken into the noodles. The satay beef vermicelli is amazing. The beef is so tender and flavorful, and enhances the flavor of the vermicelli. The eggs and toast were delicious too - eggs were scrambled over easy, and the toast is very crunchy. Black pepper baked filet over rice was pretty hearty. I love the fragrance of the rice and the filet is very tender. The black pepper sauce does clash and dominate some of the flavors but it is still nonetheless well executed. For the drinks that come with the meals, we got milk tea and milk tea + coffee (yin yang) - these drink are high in caffeine even with the small size! Will update to 5 stars when I try the full suite of items they are known for, since the dishes we got were good but stuff that I could've gotten elsewhere.
