Classic HK style cafe nestled inside the Yaohan Centre food court. Expect long lines if you coming during lunch time as this seems to be the most popular vendor in the food court. The menu offers classic HK cafe dishes such as scrambled egg toast, satay beef noodles, baked pork chop rice, etc. The food is great and demands multiple return visits to try everything on the menu. Make sure to bring cash!

Another variant of Cha Kee that's been popping out everywhere in Richmond. I came here around 10 am on a Sunday with plenty of parking and no line up at Cha Don yet. Once I got my food around 10.30 am, there started to be a line so tip is to be here a bit earlier. I got a few things, but the standout was the corned beef egg sandwich. It was a sizeable amount and super filling. I liked liked how silky the corned beef was. Price-wise, Cha Don is a bit more expensive than Cha Kee and there are less options for a traditional HK breakfast. For example, there's no steak. If you like the flexibility of A+B+C kind of breakfasts, then I would go to Cha Kee instead. The abundance of parking and seating is plus compared to Cha Kee though.

Milk tea - not bad Beef curry with rice - curry sauce was okay, but lacked depth... loved how soft the beef was, rice was cooked well. However, not enough potatoes (and the potatoes were lacking in potato flavour) and no carrots. French toast ($10) not crispy enough. And the constant opening and closing of the doors makes it go cold and doughy even faster. Food portions are quite generous though. Wouldn't mind coming back to try other options. And the line up was a bit long, but it gave us time to decide what we wanted to eat, so I didn't mind.

Previous booth Curry House has moved and Cha Don is the new establishment now. Actually this is the 3rd franchise opened in Richmond within the last 2 years.... The original one in Radisson Hotel food court proven to be a success, then followed by the 2nd cafe in Empire Mall and now came this youngest sister in Yaohan..... This CD is so new that didn't even got a phone set up yet. Naturally there were lots of room for improvement... Pros: lots of tables and chairs in the food court, ample free parking, friendly service, reasonable prices, good portion sizes. Cons: food tastes not consistent (my pork chop w/ salad was bland, tasteless, the meat was quite dry so to speak, but the fruit salad and scrambled egg was good. I found the ambiance is overwhelming, the entire area is loud .... I really don't like the pagers beeping sound (reminding customers food is ready) so freaking annoying! My rating is 3.5 top. I would come again but won't be that often coz the noisy vibe is irritating.

Line was about 30-45 minutes. Not worth it. Tried the 咖喱牛筋牛腩飯, Curry sauce too thick. Flavor is ok. But not too hot. 茄汁焗豬扒飯: Like that it uses fried pork cutlet, but oil used too much and taste old. Sauce is ok. I'd say it's average. Food wait time 30 minutes. Not worth the wait and not that impressive.

Their satay beef with noodles was very fragrant and peanuty. I enjoyed the flavour. The egg was pretty creamy and it came with either a slice of toast or a bun (we chose toast). The flavour is also not bad. The red bean drink was a bit sweet so keep that in mind. The egg is nice and runny in the sandwich as well. It also comes with a drink but we switched it to a red bean drink. Overall for the cost I would recommend it.

Long lines at both the Yaohan and Henderson Mall locations speak to how popular it is, and the pricing sits in the affordable range for generous, full-meal plates rather than snack-sized portions. The overall value proposition is strong: you get real-deal HK café flavours without feeling like corners were cut. Dishes come out fast and hot, and the kitchen does not skimp on proteins--whether it's pork chops, chicken, or beef, plates feel properly loaded rather than padded with carbs. Despite the crowds, service is efficient and geared toward turnover, which suits the food court setting and keeps waits manageable once you've actually ordered. It's the kind of place where you grab your tray, sit, and eat rather than linger, but it delivers exactly what you come for. Given the combination of flavour, portion size, and price, Cha Don is an easy recommend for Hong Kong café fans looking for a quick, satisfying meal. The only real downside is the lineup; at peak times the queue can be enough to make you think twice. Still, if the line isn't too long, it's absolutely worth returning for another round.

Cha Don has only been opened in Henderson Mall for 2 weeks and the line is insane. (Even went back a month later and it's still ridiculous.) Most of the dishes are under $16 but some of the items are not available till after 11:30. That's includes the baked rice dish and spaghetti and the minced pork patty rice series. This will quicken up the long time for those breakfast goers but sucks if you're craving either of those. So the first time I had gone, there were lots of mistakes in orders and the long lines. There was also a sign in front of the cashier stating that they will only take CASH or E-TRANSFER...So be prepared! By the look at more recent reviews, it seems like they're still working out the kinks and the line is still 30-45 minutes. Maybe by this spring they'll figure it out? Just know there are lots of good options if you're not willing to wait.

I used to come here often with friends and families for breakfast and wanted to see whether it still tasted just as good. We each got two items from the breakfast combo, A through D. A to Cs are our usual options and upgrade to French toast. The eggs were somewhat on the drier side and i personally prefer fluffy ones. The beef noodles and the congee continue to be my favorites. The beef noodle broth is flavorful and the congee definitely comforted my soul. The items listed in D are always a miss. We have tried all items and none of them was delicious. For example, the steamed rice rolls were very doughy. Other times, they were very dry. The items in D sometimes felt like they're frozen dim sum items sold at grocery stores. Service is a hit or miss depending on which server you get. Sometimes you get servers who come and refill tea and provides actual service. Other times, no one comes by at all even when there is no tea in cups, etc.

The dessert at the end was a surprise. Expecting red bean soup but got a Chinese jello instead. Prawns were amazing too. Salted egg flavour and sweet and sour pork had wok hei! Service could be a bit slower but it's a Chinese restaurant. So i get it. Everything was gooood! Portions were generous and the taste on point. The washrooms could use a bit of cleaning as well as the flooring...so had to take away a star. Would go back for sure! Overall tho, good comfort Chinese food at reasonable prices. Cheers! Happy eating!

We only had our credit cards and I asked the person at the cash register if they take credit card, she said nope but there is an ATM upstairs at the Superstore. We went upstairs to grab some cash from the ATM out front. When we got back downstairs, the lady in charge already had reserved a table for us and immediately explained to us what is served during the breakfast hours. She gave us a few recommendations and we went with the wonton with brisket as they ran out of fish balls and the HK Style Grilled Beef with Black Peppercorn Sauce. Both items were marvelously well made, the peppercorn sauce is EXACTLY how its done in HK and all major cities with a huge HK population. But the winner is the wonton. By golly, I have had hundreds of bowls of wonton, I have made hundreds of wonton dumplings for my family's business but this one really stands out amongst all of them. The service is efficient and very friendly and they greeted so many regular customers with kind words asking about their work and family.
