Cheap no-frills HK style food inside the Richmond Public Market market. Parking is available in the lot next to the building. The place serves the typical rice, noodle, and soup dishes. Prices are reasonable, and the food is definitely of the comfort variety. I had their minced pork with egg on rice. Looks exactly as it sounds. The egg is raw and plopped the middle of the minced egg pile. See photo. Basically just mix everything together and stuff your face. Beautiful. Portion size is fairly decent. Overall I'd come back again at some point, though the rest of the food court has so much selection.

This food stall is located at the south-west portion of the food court of Richmond Public Market. They sell Hong Kong style food and hot/cold drinks. Their drinks are large! The prices are good for the size you get. They accept cash only. There is no tax charged so we don't know if tax is included. We ordered the following: 1. Ovaltine ($4.00), cold version. 2. Hong Kong Milk Tea ($3.75), cold version. Both drinks taste very authentic. They are highly recommended. The customer service was reasonable but since there is only a husband and wife working, you have to wait a long time for your order. There is free WiFi from the market called "RPM Customer". The food stall is wheelchair accessible (must use an elevator). There are separate male/female washrooms in the food court. Review 2023-171

    Hong Kong Style Milk Tea

This was the second place during my time in Vancouver for my trip that I got Hong Kong Style Milk Tea at and I was decently impressed. I visited this restaurant yesterday at lunchtime to get a drink and it was really quiet around the restaurant. Also, the service was good when I was ordering my drink. I ordered the Hong Kong Style Milk Tea which was not too sweet, but the flavor was not perfectly balanced. Unfortunately, the sweetness of the tea was a little overwhelmed by the bitterness of the tea flavor. Overall, this is a decent restaurant to go to if you want a Hong Kong Style Milk Tea.

Authentic Ice lemon tea xtra ice

My family have been eating all over Richmond BC...from Shanghai R to K Seafood to Malaysian and HK style restaurants. We enjoy foods! But this is the HK tea cafe that I would call "authentic." Being traveling to Hong Kong for years before & after '97 this is the cafe in Richmond BC that I'd call original HK tea (ice lemon tea xtra ice my year-round drink). Kids love ice lemon tea too less sugar; wife love milk Tea hot. Ice lemon tea is for life cuz help degrease my tummy. The sandwiches are basic staples in Hong Kong. This wife & husband cafe spot is my favorite HK cafe! Located in Richmond Public Market on 2nd floor.

I rarely order this. But I know it's a staple dish at many hk style cafes. "Near raw egg on minced beef and rice". A very simple dish that makes a hardy - wholesome meal. It's difficult to say whether if it's good or just meh.. Since I don't have much to compare this to. It does take a bit longer for food to come out at this food court stall, since there's usually just one person (probably the owner) working. Food 8 Service 7 Ambiance 6 Value 8

The last couple of times we've come, the beef ribs were a bit smaller than they used to be, but they were awesome about making up for it. Last visit they threw in an extra rib, and today they gave us this massive extra bone loaded with tendon. I loved it. My wife was too shy to use her hands to eat it, so hey, bonus piece for me! Aside from the food, the service here is amazing. Everyone is super attentive and friendly. The vibe is really comforting to, it's way more spacious than your typical cramped pho restaurant. Parking is free during lunch, but you have to register your car if you're here after 6pm. It's cash or debit only.

I didn't realize it was a chain with three locations in Metro Vancouver. We entered and the place was moderately busy. We were seated immediately. Rather typical looking restaurant but it was clean. Despite not liking fresh durian , I don't mind eating this. Outer layer is crisp and not too thick. - Rice Noodle with Tomato Broth: Good. Comes still boiling. Decent size, variety of toppings and a slightly thicker broth than most. Rice noodles are a bit soggy, but being all you can eat rice noodles is a nice feature for big eaters. - Yang's Chicken Rice Boneless: Good. Also comes boiling. Chicken is tender, and mushrooms have intense flavour. Service is minimal, but helpful. Overall, we were happy with our food as it was good, fast, and affordable. Nice and soupy just the way I like them. Braised Beef noodle soup w/ Kuan noodle - great noodle and beef texture, broth could be a bit more flavourful, but honestly not bad. Popcorn chicken - it's lacking depth in seasoning, and a little overdone on the dark side of things, but pretty good otherwise. I'm so glad they finally got their own standalone building that's much bigger now. Long's Noodle is my comfort food when I go to Richmond, BC. The XLB is a no brainer. Get it, no questions asked unless you only like the thin skinned ones. In which case, go to DTF. The soup in these are packed full of flavor and I'm always surprised at how much soup is packed up in them. The next thing I always get is the Drunken chicken. In fact, the last time I was there, I got two orders of it cause it was so good. I've tried it at many other places and Long's Noodle is legit the only place that makes it this good. Beware though, if you're sensitive to alcohol, you can get a bit red (happened to one of my friends, lol). We tried the crispy noodles with beef sauce this time and my partner really enjoyed it! Keep in mind they won't seat you unless your entire party has arrived. The total came to less than $30 per person, which is great value for money in Vancouver. While the xiao long bao and sheng jian bao were definitely the highlights of our lunch, I enjoyed all of the dishes. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for Shanghai cuisine in Vancouver. Xiao Long Bao ($9.25) Even with my questionable chopstick skills, the wrapper didn't break at all, which shows how well they're made. The broth was flavorful, with plenty of meat inside. I just wish the dipping sauce had a stronger ginger profile. Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings / Sheng Jian Bao ($8.50) Crispy on the bottom with a fluffy top. Interestingly, they have the same soup filling as the xiao long bao. Meat & Vegetable Wonton in Peanut Sauce ($12.95)This was the only dish I've never had in Shanghai (my friend told me it's commonly served in the summer, when soup dumplings would be too hot). Wine Chicken ($15.95)It was cute how they served this dish in a tall pot. It looks small, but there's actually a decent amount of tender chicken inside. Fragrant without being overwhelming. Crispy Rice with Salted Egg Sauce ($21.95)The flavor profile reminded me of Singaporean-style salted egg fried chicken (which sadly doesn't seem to exist in Vancouver). The crunchiness adds a nice balance to all the dumpling dishes we had.

However, I was a bit disappointed but not too much as prices were decent depending on what you get. We got the chicken laksa, Nasi goreng, Mongolian chicken, and kuih lapis. Chicken laksa is the ideal order as the soup is decent and the pricing is fair. It is not the best as the soup didn't carry much flavor and the noodles were a bit on the softer side. It was filling however. Nasi goreng is solid. The vegetables felt frozen reheated and wilted, but at least the cucumbers were fresh. The amount of shrimp, squid, and fish cakes was dismal. Flavor profile is good. The Mongolian chicken is okay. It's not fried as the batter is quite soft. It is saucy which my friends were craving. I enjoyed the flavor profile of this one though. The dessert is good. Kuih Lapis is a colorful dessert so it appealed to me in both taste and presentation. One red flag I noticed is that I heard beep after beep of microwave sounds. It's as if all the dishes they prepared well in advance and just reheat for us, plus they walled off the kitchen and the back completely, giving the impression that they want to hide something. Most renowned places won't hide the back like that, as you can at least take a peek of what's cooking behind the scenes in most places.
